Yes Part 2 driving with Izzy in the 2023 Ford 7.3L V-8 push rod gas engine connected to a 10-speed automatic. 430 horsepower, 485 torque. Can tow 17,700, we towed 11K. Gas engines aren't dead, especially a big one. An a whole lot cheaper than a Power Stroke diesel. $12,000 more to go diesel, buys so much gas. 3.73 locking rear axle ratio does well and better with a 4.30 ratio. Glad to see a big gas engine still, we can't all drive EV's and the Godzilla can be a good choice if you don't tow heavy trailers or tow every month. This XLT Premium is only $70,910 in today's market that seems good. I don't understand for a XLT premium package, now power seat tilt and the passenger gets nothing. But it does have a 2000 watt Pro Power Onboard. store.mrtruck.... #trailering mrtruck.com/

Mr. Truck, I tow a 7100lb camper with my current max tow 5.0 f150, was thinking on this exact spec of truck to replace my current f150, would I see a huge difference over this vs the 5.0? 7100lbs I don’t think is all that heavy for a 1/2 ton let alone a 3/4. Great video, thanks!

You're F150 is fine for 7100 lb camper

I don't get it. Mr Truck's saying there's no cam phaser since it's a pushrod -- yet there's a cam phaser unit on the camshaft when you tear these down.
Are we not talking the same marketing lingo?

It's not an overhead cam on the 7.3L. Are you saying the camshaft in the block has a cam phaser?

Yes, that is what I have seen. The front of the 7.3L Godzilla's camshaft has a cam phaser on it. Ford conveniently didn't use the word "cam phaser" on their marketing materials, but that's what it looks like for all intents and purposes.

If I didn’t know any better I’d swear this is just an old guy and his daughter driving to town to get groceries and then posting the dash cam footage and calling it a truck review lol.

The 3.5 Powerboost Hybrid has the same horsepower and 85 lb ft more torque. Not to mention, it is less than half the size and more economical. With the max torque in the 3.5 Powerboost coming on at 2400 RPM and staying flat all through the RPM range, why wouldn't that be a better engine? I know what I just wrote seems crazy but the math doesn't lie. Why would the 7.3 be better in this truck with this chassis than if they put in the 3.5 Powerboost Hybrid? For that matter, put a hybrid motor behind the 5.0 Coyote and put that in the Super Duty. It is also a proven design with great power and economy.

I have suggested that combination to Ford many times. I know their engineers
