E85: Why corn is my favorite vegetable.
Beautiful car! Can't believe that a simple change in fuel could add nearly 150+ HP!
+titleguy1 its a grain not a vegetable but who cares
+Kingdom Of Mog Depending on the type of corn it could be either a grain or vegetable. The corn humans eat is a vegetable, while almost all other types of corn are grains. I'm from Iowa so don't feel bad.
cuz turn up boost
+Ashton Murch no, not boost, timing, He said he didnt change anything but the fuel. e85 allows you to turn the timing up because it runs way cooler than e85. Its comparable to 110 octane fuel.
+WooSVT with timing, more is not always better. depending on engine combustion size, shape and engine configuration there will only be one optimum timing setting for max power but this is usually (but not always) limited by the fuels detonation resistance. I would almost guarantee that they are running more boost to the engine now with the booze fuel.
Clearing a few things up left out of the video- E85 isn't directly responsible for the power gains, but tuning with different timing is where the power comes mostly from in a nut shell. You do need to have it properly tuned. As for some direct injection systems some high pressure fuel pumps need the lubricant gasoline gives to function properly although is rarer nowadays. You also will need to have a flex fuel system if you'd like to switch from pump to E85 on the go, along with the supporting mods.
Have an amazing day.
+ThatDudeinBlue You know I've always thought it was funny how everybody refers to fuel as pump gas and E85. Last I check E85 comes from the same pump as standard gasoline. So E85 is pump gas. Even though its technically not gasoline as its 85% is ethanol. So I guess we need to start trying to get people to use proper names for fuels like gasoline, diesel, ethanol, alcohol, natural gas and any racing variation of the before mentioned.
in short- e85 lets you run more boost without knock.

+ThatDudeinBlue There is such terrible info in this video it isn't even funny.
Just a BAP on a boosted car for e85?.....dumb, you want plenty of head pressure over the injector, a bap on a boosted car on e85 is asking for trouble, full fuel system or nothing.
Stick to plastidipping emblems.
Because CORN SCIENCE!
Thanks for watching dudes. Have a fantastic day.
+ThatDudeinBlue Corn fed? so its heavier?
( ;-; )
Dude keep filming high end cars. Try to film an m6,rs7, e63 you know cars in that category
+ThatDudeinBlue That was awesome! Pls tell me you're going e85 for the 2j!
Nah, pump gas. It's going to daily driver level just like Smurrf.
Are you going to convert your 240 to e85?
30 miles a gallon on a stock 5.0? lol I wish. Sick video though, interesting stuff
No shit lol 20 down hill lol
@@RUPE88 I’m at 18.5 lol
I'm waiting for the "1500 hp Organic grass fed Paxtonstang" video.
I'm sitting at the Hospital with my mother she has a blood clot which is bad for her Cancer. I turned this video on and instantly got happy I was about drive around but now I'm sitting in the car eating chips and watching the vid. The new format where you show clips of you explaining stuff is lovely. This made my fucking day I have the biggest headache since God made Eve.
I know this is late but I hope everything’s well. Praying for y’all man
Great explication on E85. I've been watching your videos for God knows how long and they keep on getting better and better! Nice work! Great job! Looking forward to watching more reviews!
David I gotta say the community you build is amazing, like everyone is so nice and that is because your videos give off such a positive vibe that everybody is just happy and that is great. Been with you since you had about a 1000 subscribers and will stay with you until the very end so thank you for entertaining car guys around the globe! That mustang sounds like an angry volcano...and I love it
This is one of the nicest Coyotes I’ve seen! I’m going Paxton as well, and I like every thing Kody has done to his car.
Great video David! Didn't know all of the pros and cons with E85. Keep making great vlogs!
Ever since I heard the Coyote 5.0's engine, I fell in love. Everything about this car is amazing. I have been watching your videos for quite a while now and I think this is one of my favorite videos of yours! Keep up the good work!!
honestly loving the new setup of that car and your videos, keep up the good work man !!! love this channel
Good episode David! I really enjoyed it and would love to see more vids like this when you can do it.
david .. i just wanna say how much i love you ! as a upcoming race car driver, cars are really my life since i was born i was into it thanks to my dad who sadly died when i was 10 on hill climb.. i feel the passion in every single video you make ! its feels like home to me when im on your channel
Awesome vid David! Very informative! Came here to see a 700 hp but actually left with not only that but a good understanding of what E85 is and how it works ;D
SICK Review and car David , your videos keep getting better every time , Man this makes me miss so much my vortech on my old 2v ... boost can be so addictive :D
I was going to run e85 in the GT500 but my injectors were at 85% on 93oct so just went with 116 instead but now I'm thinking about going with bigger injectors so I switch to e85 because it's cheaper and easier to get.
+JD JoyrideTV
Sheesh, that should bump your beast close-or-above 1k hp, no?
yeah it should. 1Kwhp is my goal
+JD JoyrideTV Holy mother of corn. o.0
I swear, your my favorite human being. You have respect for both imports and muscle, but let's not forget, trucks. You are a true Car Enthusiast!
Another benefit to E85 is it burns cooler, and can actually lower your intake air temps after the fuel is added. My buddy had a twin-turbo 351W in his '68 F-100 that would actually get condensation on the intake because the fuel would cool the air so much. E85 is awesome!
this fuel would rock the tune scene here in europe !
one of your best videos !
cheers !
These Mustangs just sound amazing. I was just watching another Mustang video before I seen that you uploaded this.
very well made video it helped me learn and pick up quite a bit not going to lie, also i love cars so much
I learned quite a bit about E85 from this video thanks David!
David i cant lie this video made me trade in my Evo an Got a 2013 Mustang GT...!! Keep up the amazing videos! Ford should definitely sponser you!
You know, for all the rear mounted go pro clips that show pulls you usually see on supra's and that sound damn amazing, I think this sounds just as amazing. I wanna say its even emotional.
Man I love mustangs
Very informative video! This thing sounded heavenly!
this was legit news package like and I feel like now that you have the B-Roll for like, anything youll be making more of these awesome videos
Great video like always, very enjoyable.
Another Great Review!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Keep them coming!
Great video David!
My Supra is on E85 and It's a love/ hate relationship. Yes my MPG sucks really bad but E85 here in Texas is literally a $1 per gallon. So what you lose in MPG you gain back in money!
And secondly my car was run on E85 for about 3 years with no service done to any of the fuel system and that turned out to be bad. I just took them out to be cleaned and hope that it fixes some of my idle issues!
I learned something! Thanks David!
All the ricers: OMG IF I CONVERT TO E85 I'll GET 100 MORE HP!!!
No they'll just put a flexfuel sticker and thats it.
+Gingium and blow up the motor
+xXDTK OWNERXx Dont forget the big ass corn sticker in the rear glass. Right above the "JDM as FUCK" sticker and besides the "No fat chicks, will scrape" sticker.
Well more stickers = more power... So if you start pumping corn into your tank, and add the sticker, that has to be at least another 150-180 to the wheels
Keep up the great work David
That mustang is turning out very nice! Dude is putting in some work!
Great video man, thanks a lot!
You guys have amazing weather in Virginia right now. In Poland we mostly have rainy autumns.... Im so jealous.
Yaaaaaaasssssssss!!!!!!! i love kodys car!!! nice review david!!!
As soon as the video started, I recognized the song Lolol
Kasbo!!
Loved this Video. A+ David
Wow! I didn't know it makes such a difference! That's awesome! ~100HP for a different gas ?! So cool!
Love the fog lights in the grill 👌🏽
That flyby was awesome, such a good birthday present! haha
Super sweet video
Loved this video
I like the sound of the exhaust dude.
+ThatDudeinBlue Awesome review of a bad ass s197; currently on my second stang now and hope to eventually get one of the new fastbacks 👍💪
you should do a comparison video of your car and this one since you're running boost now. since they're similarly upgraded and have similar power.
LOL....Havent seen you smile that big since your 03 Cobra review!
Love the sound of this car
beast mustang keep the bids up bro !!!!
Lesson taught by David is a lesson well learned :D
That hood is absolutely beautiful!
Great vid. My only humble critique on all your vids are...every time u do a 'straight shot' you keep your right hand on the stick!!! Wish u would keep both hands on the wheel and only lower your right when it's time to shift. Just my two penny's. BTW, 240sx episodes r my favorite!!!!!!!
FINALLY A REVIEW👌🏽
car throttle and thatdudeinblue! best day!
I love this video!!!
That's one awesome Mustang. Wow.
YOOOO PUTTING THAT E85 IN MY STANG TODAY !! Thanks
I like that subaru sneak peek in there ;) @ThatDudeinBlue
That little wheelie hop in the first take off I was like 👀👀
3:51 haha best spot, anyways David can we get a high res wallpaper still shot of that?
sweet ride...hope you do JDs Shelby again..his motor is rebuilt and kickin some ass
That backfire @3:43 👌🏼
More PROJECT vids! Can't wait to see the final product
More details on E85, please!! Tuning, requirements for the transition. maintenance, worries/precautions
Very nice car!!! A couple of things about the E85 I thought I should add though; In theory, you only need 30% more volume compared to normal pump fuel- however, the usable window of A/R ratio you can use is 5 - 6 times boarder than normal pump fuel (that means it's quiet easy to get the fueling tuned right as it's not quiet as critical to get the mixtures within a very narrow window like it is with normal pump fuel) AND it is a highly oxygenated fuel... Meaning, than no longer is lean mean, a rich mixture will create more power with E85 or any ethanol based fuel with a greater content of ethanol. That is probably why the Mustang's fuel economy has gotten so much worse. Also the richer the mixture, the greater the cooling effect on the inlet charge in boosted cars. E85 has a very high latent heat of vaporization; meaning it draws a lot of heat out of it's surroundings as it vaporizes and atomizes. It effectively creates a chemical intercooling effect that can pull 80 - 100 deg out of the inlet on a boosted car. Guys with roots blowers and injector hats get condensation build up on the hat itself because of this cooling effect, they get that cold they almost freeze up!!!
How does this compare to that 705hp gt500 you reviewed back in 2014? 2 different mustangs pushing same hp, but get there with 2 totally different setups. Sweet vid Dude, god I love Mustangs :)
Rain makes corn, corn makes E85, E85 gives me good vibes.
That opening scene, god damnnnnnnnn❤️
Sounds like a great idea. Hey you should make the your 240 run on e85
e85 is more than regular gas where I live I've been using it in my direct injected 5.3 and it loves it
I don't think I've seen e85 in Canada, pretty cool video.
BEST INTRO EVER!
yes more coyotes David please lol like those cars reviews
Hello David!!! Greetings from Brazil! Well...in Brazil is very popular to have flex cars! However the difference isn't that big like in this incredible Mustang!!! We see a gain of 3 or 5 hps with ethanol, but this car has gained way more than just 3 or 5 plus hps!!! well thanks!! see ya!
MAN THAT IS COOL!!
Lol Davids face at 5:10, that's smile do
David... Your opinion is needed man. I'm looking to get a Stang soon.. But the issue is I don't know if I want a 6cyl or a 8cyl. It'll be a 5.0 if it's the 8cyl and the 3.7 if a 6cyl .. What's your view on it. It'll be "stock" for about 6-8 months
That backfire tho !
Great video. Any ideas of a N/A 2005 gt flex fuel system?
I love this car.
lol in Brazil E85 is like water, you can find everywhere, and all of the cars today in here is flex fuel (runs with regular gas or E85). but normally the difference between regular gas and E85 in the cars here is only 2-5 hp (in a stock car).
GOD DAM IT'S GORGEOUS!!!!!
That's one beastly 5 Oh!
David, do you know what hood this 5.0 has? I absolutely love it and would love to put it on mine
Could you do a review on the following? Lexus is300, Honda Ek9, Acura RSX Type-S?
Nature....how neat is that
that looks so fun 😭😭
Man, that fly by at 3.08.
David. How was the rst clutch? I need a new clutch on my 5.0 but I heard the rst had a lot of chatter. Any insight you can give would be appreciated! Also 700+ rwhp with no internal changes?! How haha
You said doesn't work well with direct injection? How come cars like the frs get e85 conversion so often
Damn, what exhaust does this 5.0 have? It sounds really good.
When was this filmed? 87 octane gas where I'm at is only about 2.20$ right now and was as low as 1.99 about a month ago
I know he had to buy injectors and a clutch but other then that is everything else oem stock? rear end? is the intake ported? fuel pump?
How much of a difference would it make on my 96 gt? I have bolt ons with 3 73 gears
could you do all the major bolt ons and mods and then convert to e85. how much to the wheels would that make
Would E85 (being alcohol) be cyropreservant and not 'gunk up'?
what am i missing
corn juice got carbs/sugars in it??
looked like you came a bit at the end LOL. I bet it's a hell ov a ride
