If they had withdrawn, then Chile would have have qualified automatically. Ireland taking their place was not an option

على الرغم من تصدر الفريق السوفيتي، فأنه لم يتأهل الى كأس العالم، لأنه كان عليه ان يلعب الملحق مع الفريق الشيلي، تعادله معه في مباراة الذهاب في موسكو 0_0، ورفض ان يلعب مباراة الأياب في سانتياغو، بسبب الانقلاب العسكري في شيلي على حكومة سلفادور الليندي، و استخدام الانقلابيون لملعب سانتياغو كمعتقل سياسي للمناوئين للانقلاب. فتأهلت شيلي الى المانيا على حساب الاتحاد السوفيتي .
Yes...you are right..i was 15 in 1973..and perfectly remember the headlines in the press...Finally Chile went to the WC held in Germany in 74..due to the soviet refusal to play in Santiago....

كان على الفيفا معاقبة شيلي، وليس حرمان السوفيت، بسبب الانقلاب الدموي في شيلي على حكومة شرعية منتخبة، الذي راح ضحيته الالاف من الابرياء.
وهذا يثبت ان الفيفا غير عادل ومنحازا للغرب ولأمريكا. وينظر للأمور بمنظار مزدوج.
الفيفا يعاقب الروس بسبب غزوهم لأوكرانيا، ولا يعاقب امريكا والغرب لغزوها افغانستان والعراق وسوريا وليبيا وقبل ذلك كوريا و فيتنام !!!
الفيفا لا يملك اي شيء من العدالة، لانه بكل بساطة ، هو اداة بيد الغرب وامريكا، فهو يعقاب و يحرم من يشاء ويكافئ من يشاء،حسب ما تقتضيه مصالح أمريكا والغرب.فهو كافئ نظام بينو شيت الفاشي في شيلي و في نفس الوقت يعاقب من يرفض التعامل مع هذا النظام، والادهى من ذلك عندما سمح بل وكافئ النظام الدموي في الارجنتين بتنظيم كأس العام عام 1978،بل وسمح لهم بالفوز بكأس العام في فضيح مدوية زلزلت العام، وهي فضيحة الفوز على بيرو 6_0. دون فتح اي تحقيق في تلك الفضيحة المدوية.
