Prayer is a unique training and developmental program which, if well and devotedly performed, can achieve for a Muslim many valuable spiritual, physical, and ethical gains.
Salah is the daily ritual prayer enjoined upon all Muslims as one of the five Pillars of Islam. It is performed five times a day by all Muslims. Salah is a precise worship, different from praying on the inspiration of the moment. Muslims pray or, perhaps more correctly, worship five times throughout the day:
    · Between first light and sunrise.
    · After the sun has passed the middle of the sky.
    · Between mid-afternoon and sunset.
    · Between sunset and the last light of the day.
    · Between darkness and midnight.
Each prayer may take at least 5 minutes, but it may be lengthened as a person wishes. Muslims can pray in any clean environment, alone or together, in a mosque or at home, at work or on the road, indoors or out. Under special circumstances, such as illness, journey, or war, certain allowances in the prayers are given to make their offering easy.
Having specific times each day to be close to God helps Muslims remain aware of the importance of their faith, and the role it plays in every part of life. Muslims start their day by cleaning themselves and then standing before their Lord in prayer. The prayers consist of recitations from the Quran in Arabic and a sequence of movements: standing, bowing, prostrating, and sitting. All recitations and movements express submission, humility, and homage to God. The various postures Muslims assume during their prayers capture the spirit of submission; the words remind them of their commitments to God. The prayer also reminds one of belief in the Day of Judgment and of the fact that one has to appear before his or her Creator and give an account of their entire life. This is how a Muslim starts their day. In the course of the day, Muslims dissociate themselves form their worldly engagements for a few moments and stand before God. This brings to mind once again the real purpose of life.
These prayers serve as a constant reminder throughout the day to help keep believers mindful of God in the daily stress of work, family, and distractions of life. Prayer strengthens faith, dependence on God, and puts daily life within the perspective of life to come after death and the last judgment. As they prepare to pray, Muslims face Mecca, the holy city that houses the Kaaba (the ancient place of worship built by Abraham and his son Ishmael). At the end of the prayer, the shahada (testimony of faith) is recited, and the greeting of peace, "Peace be upon all of you and the mercy and blessings of God," is repeated twice.
Though individual performance of salah is permissible, collective worship in the mosque has special merit and Muslims are encouraged to perform certain salah with others. With their faces turned in the direction of the Kaaba in Mecca, the worshipers align themselves in parallel rows behind the imam, or prayer leader, who directs them as they execute the physical postures coupled with Quran recitations.
Although not religiously mandated, individual devotional prayers, especially during the night, are emphasized and are a common practice among pious Muslims.

I am new to Islam. I kinda embarased to say but less than a week. I sought to learn a people other my own to understand. Before this I had no religion. All that I learned touched my heart. I know Allah to be the one true God. I acknowledge Muhammad as his final prophet. It's like I've been asleep for so long. Now I thirst for more knowledge so that I may worship Allah in accordance. This is completely new to me and I have no guide. I know only one other Muslim and they live far away. This has help me so very much. Thank you most sincerely. May Allah's blessings and peace be upon you.

oliver jensen You should know that there are literally hundreds of thousands of NDE testimonies where Muslims and atheists seen Jesus, hell, biblical angels, Visions and visitations from Jesus telling them something contradictory to what they believe even the middle east. (You can very easily search this up) Also that there are There are scientific evidence of the bible, historical evidence that proves the people and the events in the bible existed, non-biblical evidence like the dead sea scrolls, writings about Jesus from roman soldiers, second hand writings about Jesus being crucified and the early Christian persecution, writings about Christianity spreading all across rome, isreal, Jerusalem etc after Jesus Christ was crucified etc. also believe me there is evidence of Jesus Christ being the messiah outside of the bible as it is inside

Islam is an antichrist religion, they deny the divinity of Jesus Christ which came down from heaven to be the savior of the world.
      The Supremacy of Christ
      (Hebrews 1:1-14)
15Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: 16For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: 17And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 18And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence. 19For it pleased the Fatherthat in him should all fulness dwell; 20And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
21And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled 22In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: 23If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister; RED WARRIOR

And studying pronunciations to the ayas. After salat I feel relaxed. It's not I have to get my prayers done. It's I want too. Alhamdulillah may Almighty Allah bless everyone abundantly. Inshallah.

Upon reading the Quran I realized so many unanswered questions I had as a Christian were being answered. I continued with my studying Islam and have struggled extremely with finding a site that made the Arabic words clear enough for me to learn.

A quick question. I'm a Christian. I have a few Muslim friends and over Ramadan I was invited to our local mosque to take part in the activities and just see how Muslims celebrate Ramadan. I was unfortunately unable to perform Wudu due to not having enough time. So I listened to the call to prayer, but stood outside of the prayer room. The imam politely allowed me to step inside and see how Muslims perform Salah. I also got to talking to a man, Yakub, a Christian who had converted to Islam. I asked him that because we both worship Allah, just in different ways and have different beliefs regarding a few dogmatic points, if, since I am not a Muslim, but to show respect for the Muslims for allowing me to see how they celebrate one of their holy festivals, if I prayed Salah, but addressed Allah as I see him. That is, as a Christian, performed the ritual of Salah, but my view of Allah is of a personal god, and prayed to him in such a manner? Or is that inappropriate and should I, as a Christian, just pray as I do regularly? An answer would be welcome, as I think it'd be a nice surprise for my friends if I took the time to learn Salah, to show respect to them and the kinship of our two faiths, but still maintained by personal view of Allah and prayed to Him according to that view.

    • @locked14a
      @locked14a Před 10 lety +1

It's great you're learning about other religions. I believe your question is: can you as a Christian worship Allah as you see him using the methods of salah used by muslims. As the video says, salah is a pillar of Islam and thus extracting the prayer style (Muslims believe as taught by Muhammad) and using it to worship your own personal view of Allah would in essence not be salah in its conceptual form. Salah, besides the movements, has an important intention (called 'niyyat') at its core which is: There is No God but Allah and Muhammad is His last messenger. Without that core intention, all other acts whether it be salah, fasting, or pilgrimage cease to be Islamic and rather become one's custom ritual. In conclusion, you are free to worship whatever you choose however you like, but without that 'niyyat' I wrote of above, it wouldn't be salah but rather your own custom action worshiping your own personal god. Whether it is inappropriate is subjective and depends on your friends. However, in terms of Islam, how you worship as a non-Muslim is your prerogative, and you are free to worship in whatever style you please, wherever you please, and no one has the right to stop you.

Ademir Jahic Thank you. I just wish more of our respective brothers of faith took our approach towards kindness instead of shooting at each other. My aspect of it, disregarding political views on Palastine/Israel, etc. is that we're all Abrahamic faiths in one way or another and why not embrace that kinship instead of fight one another. I've found that unfortunately, many Western 1st generation Muslims are much more amicable towards others of different faiths than their parents. Very close friend of mine, Momina, I've learned to ignore her mother when she speaks at me in Urdu (family's from Pak) because it's usually not very nice when translated to English. But aside from that, I'm very happy you responded. Wa laikam as-Salaam. Happy Ramadan!

Is logical , lets say parents of your parents and parents of their parents and their again parents..... they made a choose .... you see "CHOOSE" ..... no one has the right to say who is the real religion because real religion cannot be.
Ask Jew: Who have the right religion ? we have it.. ..
Ask Muslim: Who have the right religion ? We have it...
Ask Christian: Who have the right religion ? We have it....
So tell me how can there be 3 right religions ? funny ... but the only true here is ALLAH
Allah is the RIGHT ,,, the religions are only education ........
      W salam alaykum brother....

Yes dear brother we can say that Islam is the only right religion because Allah made sure no one altered his holy book the Qur'an is the only one with no other copies unlike the bible which has many different versions and sects of the book and the same goes for the Torah. And the Qur'an wants you to think it says افلا تعقلون which means do you not use your brain it wants you to think and use your intelect. Therefore you can't follow your forefathers even if they are wrong for an example Ibrahim (pbuh) didn't follow his father when he was praying to statues and asked him how do you pray to a god that doesn't hear or listen. So if your parents tell you that there is no god would you also follow them most likely yes which is why god wants you to think rather than just blindly following. Thank you dear brother hope you get the message peace.

It is going to be hard making the transition from Christianity to Islam. But i do believe that Islam is the completion of Christianity. It is God's will and completion of his message. It was all made so clear to me. Christians have way less rituals involved which will be the hardest for me i think. But i like how islam keeps me grounded and focused on pleasing the lord.

+NoFace Adams Question: "How can I, a Muslim, become assured of paradise?"
Answer: “Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him” (John 3:36).
Jesus said, “For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Mark 8:36). Life on earth is short. No matter how prosperous, life is tragic if it ends in eternal separation from God.
Jesus warned that the way to heaven is hard: "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few. Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:13-15).
The Bible tells us how we can enter the narrow gate and be assured of paradise.
Can good works earn me a place in heaven?
Many people think following God’s laws and doing good works will get them into heaven. Muslims, for example, strive to keep the Five Pillars. If good deeds outweigh bad deeds, people hope God will accept them. But God says in the Bible that no person can earn heaven.
“For by works of the law no human being will be justified in his sight, since through the law comes knowledge of sin. . . . for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:20, 23).
The more a person tries to obey God’s laws found in the Bible (ultimately fulfilled in perfectly loving God and neighbor-Matthew 22:34-40), the more a person sees he is a sinner. God is a just Judge with a holy wrath against sinners (Romans 2:5). He will punish sinners-regardless of good deeds done or laws kept (Ecclesiastes 12:14; James 2:10; Revelation 20:11-15). Since sin prevents our entrance to heaven, who can help us?
Can Jesus bear the wrath of God against sinners?
A substitute, taking the punishment for a sinner, must be perfect. Otherwise, that substitute must receive God’s punishment for his own sin. The only perfect One who walked on earth is Jesus (1 Peter 2:22-24).
Thousands of people witnessed Jesus’ miracles, teachings, and prophecies. They knew “. . . how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. We are witnesses of all the things He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross. God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He become visible, not to all the people, but to witnesses who were chosen beforehand by God, that is, to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. And He ordered us to preach to the people, and solemnly to testify that this is the One who has been appointed by God as Judge of the living and the dead. Of Him all the prophets bear witness that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins" (Acts 10:38b-43).
All true prophets witness that believing in Jesus is the only way sinners can be forgiven. Without Jesus as your Savior from sin, you will face Jesus as Judge with your sins exposed. Either Jesus dies for your sin (bearing the wrath of God on the cross), or you die for your sin (bearing the wrath of God eternally in hell). Jesus says, "Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins" (John 8:24).
How can I believe in Jesus?
Who is Jesus? What must you believe about Him so that you do not “die in your sins”? Read the book of John in the Bible to find out. “But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name” (John 20:31).
You will find that Jesus is not only Man but He is also the Word who was eternally with God and was God (John 1:1). By Him, God the Father created all things (John 1:3). God the Father sent Jesus, His beloved Son, to earth in human flesh to die on behalf of believing sinners (John 3:16). Then, Jesus became alive again to show He conquered sin and death. After 40 days, He rose to the Father’s side in heaven. One day, He promises to come again to judge the world and rule forever.
Even the demons believe Jesus is God’s Son (Matthew 8:29). To be saved, you must not only believe the truths about Jesus, but you must believe in Jesus.
Jesus alone can save you from sin. You must repent of your sin-not trying to take care of sin on your own but trusting in Jesus Who died to pay for your sin and set you free from sin (John 8:31-36).
Those who believe in Jesus-not merely knowing about Him but trusting in Him as Savior from sin and Lord/Master of their lives-will be saved from sin and hell.
Jesus assures those who believe in Him of heaven! “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life” (John 3:16).

Jose Potain You should know that there are literally hundreds of thousands of NDE testimonies where Muslims and atheists seen Jesus, hell, biblical angels, Visions and visitations from Jesus telling them something contradictory to what they believe even the middle east.

I have been Muslim since birth, my whole family is Muslim, I started praying when I was 12 years old. I was praying with my mother when I was 14 years old and noticed that my hair was showing a little during the prayer, my father noticed that my hair was showing a little and he hit me on the head with his fist, good thing I wasn't unconscious. After this, I told my father that I don't drive to pray anymore, and my father has tried to force me to pray by always beating me, so I didn't pray anyway. I was a teenager and ignorant, now I'm 40 years old and I've had many dreams and these dreams have sometimes been scary and sometimes calming. Now I want to worship Allah, I start praying again and I have a long way to go when I owe many tens of years in prayer. ALHAMDULULU 🤲❤️🤲

Very good guide to the prayer, it was very helpful in showing the proper form. Although English translations (may some English subtitles?) would have been nice, for us English speakers who don't know Arabic, since it's more meaning full when you know what you're saying. Either way, still very helpful, Jazakallah. As salaam u alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh :)
