I use Desktop computer for making my videos,
I don't know much about laptops, especially macbook's but
Choosing the laptop configuration and the amount of RAM/VRAM depends on your work load.
I'm currently using
cpu - Ryzen 5 1600 (very old)
ram - 32gb ( 16gb is fine if you have fast SSD )
gpu - RTX 2060 12GB VRAM ( The more powerful the GPU, the better for 3d work )
