We lost a incredible giving person.
100% Robert 👍
I went to high school with Bill and he always lived his life in full view of everyone. He decided to fight his pain by making the pain go away for others. What more could a person do for others. I hope he is free of pain and back to form when he used to run hurdles and play without foot pain.
Well said mate 👍
So you went to Helix high school? I went to Mt. Miguel. Same years.
I’ve been following Mike Breen’s career for about 30 years, a good portion of them on the Don Imus Show. Most of the time I had a belly ache laugh after one of his appearances, this is the first time he made me cry. That was a great salute to good man, thanks Mike!

I guess this story begs the question...how do you want to be remembered...? For fame, fortune, athletic exploits...or as a true person for others? At the end, which comes to us all, that's all that really matters. The positive impact we have on others.
Wow. Thank you Mr. Breen. God bless you and your parents and Mr. Walton.
I think Bill had the blueprint of how all of us should live. I am personally going to try and do better after hearing all these stories.
We all should 👍
Had the honor of meeting and speaking with Bill on the bike in San Diego. What a outstanding American. Class act. R.I.P.
Beautiful story.

100% Mike Breen did an excellent job telling this story 👍
There is pain and personal loss in Mike's face as he tells this remarkable story..
I’ve read/watched many Bill Walton tributes in the last few days. Most mention briefly what a great basketball player he was. They all mentioned, at length, what a great human being he was. Rest in peace, Grateful Red. You left an incredible legacy behind.

A great light has been extinguished from this earth.
His heart was larger and more giving than most.
I was at the 1986 tribute to him at Cambridge, MA city hall when they made him an honorary citizen of that city. He couldn’t have been more HUMBLE and KIND to the fans.
What a man. RIP, Great Bill Walton.

100% mate, Mike Breen did an awesome job retelling this 👍
One of my favorite talks of Bill Walton. What an extraordinary person and life he lived. He brought some happiness to my depressed life with his sometimes goofy commentary and stories. It's a huge loss. I say that as someone who was a hardcore Lakers fan.
