    Wonder if all the late winners were because the team was full of 20 stamina players, flying past knackered opposition. I feel like there's something in the game that tells you which 10 mins of the game you score the most in?

    So you're telling me if I don't train i become Usain Bolt ? And a team of Usain Bolts would win trophies in England and Europe and will survive the prem with ease :))

    • @blobfishking9419
      @blobfishking9419 Před 2 měsíci +2

      Ehh not quite. Usain Bolt failed as a footballer at the Central Coast Mariners B team….. Simply lacked the stamina and technical ability to make it.
      Literally just did a sports science related to why Bolt failed and why say someone like Roger Federer or Lando Norris would theoretically do well.

  • @Chengyuan79

    ... was watching how Zealand tried to spin the fact that the game is NOT about physicals, and ended up he proved it IS about the physicals. For the first time in my FM gaming, incorporated Pace as an important attribute for EVERY PLAYER (... ok, maybe not for the GK, and the DLP).
    Also, EBFM had proved that Training (+maybe 5-10-20 matches a season?) is very important for players just to maintain the CA after 24yo. Your video ties these few points together well, proving that in FM at least, signing 11 Bolts can win us something (even without Training, oh dear. I did remember in real life, one Spurs CB cannot train ... Lesley King or something. I am old) ...
    I mean, I understand - FM is ultimately just a game. But really, it's way too heavily skewed towards Physicals. E.g. I can only play a PACEY AF or a CF for my lone SC in my 4411. Else, a 4* acad kid who has "only" 13-14 Pace still cannot score goals. Even with green 17s for Off-the-Ball and Finishing and 15 for Anticipation and Decision. It's frankly BS to me. 🤷

    • @jayhuahua
      @jayhuahua  Před měsícem +1

      Yeah EBFM's video on matches was incredibly enlightening. I also think there was something to do with starts over substitute appearances. Physicals are arguably the most crucial apart from a few key hiddens. Haha I remember Ledley King, he was my era of football

    • @Chengyuan79
      @Chengyuan79 Před měsícem

      @@jayhuahua Ermm, minutes on the field. If you start, you get more. Sources elsewhere stated that 45+ minutes would get a bonus, so ... "starts", yes. Anyway, it's the reason why my subs tend to get at least 10 starts and perhaps 20+ appearances. Even the backup GK. Seriously.
      Maybe the devs remembered Ledley King. The poor guy cant train because of his knees ... man, decades ago, I devoured every single Soccernet article, I swear. My knowledge of modern Europe (at least till the 2010-ish) came from those brilliant articles explaining how the political scene of various countries influenced the clubs and why some clubs remained top (Real Madrid is #1 for a reason) ...
      Ah, good times.

    Yeah I was interested in this because in my very old version of FM I thought physicals were massively influential. I got a pack and Built Downham only through youth intake and loans. I can keep them in the Premier League because I have just trained physical players playing hit and run.

    Funny experiment!
    Is it possible that given how important physical attributes are in the match engine, when a player is the manager and simulates a season, a match engine-like simulation method is used, and instead when they are not manager anymore a simpler simulation method only taking ability into account is used by the game?

    I think there is a little hack in there somewhere, but I can't decide is it put all your u18s on not training so they become the best they possibly can physically and then hope they catch up a bit of mental/technical later or put all the 29+ players on rest so they don't decline physically, as the game seems to value physicals so highly 🤔 maybe both!

  • @Draddar
    @Draddar Před 2 měsíci

    Could be interesting if this can be exploited. Maybe 2-3 years of no training to really boost those physicals and then catch up a bit throughout the rest of the career.
    Did the physicals drop dramatically once you resigned and they actually started training?
    It'd also be very interesting to see their attribute progression in such a video. I mean the ingame window where you can see all-time attribute changes because this behaviour is incredibly weird, to see what kind of tradeoffs were being done to keep their CA for the first half of the career.

    • @jayhuahua

  • @rob_latham
    @rob_latham Před 2 měsíci

    Great experiment! I don't understand how they did that well, other than the Physicals are really important. But... given how badly they got relegated when you resigned.. are we saying you shouldn't bother with training for older players?
