In this video I have compiled a bunch of the main projects that Steve and I were up to for the two weeks we were out at our off-grid cabin. Who doesn't love projects?!? 🤩🪚🪜🪵🌲 (although I spent a lot of time in those 2 weeks up working on my shed, none of that is featured in this video - that'll be in the sheds final video coming soon!).
This video features machines, tools, cold lake swims, junk wood / repurposed builds (dog house and shoe rack made from junk), SkyMule launch deck, mountain bike trail building, off-grid laundry, fun boat repurpose, doggies, silliness, and a funny story to share too. We were also busy and spent a lot of time hiking different areas of the forest/mountains looking for Scout - it was like the elephant on our dining room table 😔
What I also didn't share is any of the lovely meals, homemade bread or deserts I made! Maybe next time 😉

A lot to absorb in this video but the one small project idea I loved was the shoe rack by the door. We’ve have this same issue by our garage entry door, this is a perfect solution, Brilliant!

Michy, I loved your new dog house slash reclaimed Ark, add a small life ring with S.S.Clyde on the side, and you have the makings of a real conversation piece. And the boat way up the hill will be perfect for when you and Steve have a really high tide and need an Ark. When you were doing your "smalls) as the British call the socks and undies, and staring into the washer, I really laughed. As always a charming video and a happy ending to the hound abduction!

43 minutes! Good Sunday down under. 'Hound day' brilliant idea, love it. Like the little dog house, the little design touch of different lengths boards makes it so much more.

A couple of sprockets, bike chain and a battery drill for power may be a way of helping with skymule line retrieval. I don't know if the drill would have enough reserve to do the total rewind but it might help with all the manual cranking. Just a thought , you guys are amazing and fun to follow. Thanks for sharing .

I loved all your projects (and your ingenuity!) but my favorite was making the bike trail. That is what I do on my farm…for dirt bikes, e-bikes, running, and snowmobiles (the farm is in Wisconsin and we have named it the Four Seasons Farm for obvious reasons!). What I wouldn’t give for a mini excavator!

Might add, I have a good number of Ryobi work tools and recently bought newer 6ah batteries. Wow. Those batteries got some power.
Years ago, where I lived in Missouri ozarks we would frequently hear the coon hounds barking, trailing through the hills. And occasionally see the hunter’s lights from a distance. There they’d go up and around the hills and hollows. What great memories now that I’m older man.

I think I have every Ryobi tool you have plus a few more. Great tools for the price. I have the impact drill and it works great. I’ll live in a log house I built myself 23 years ago in North Carolina. Love all of the wood prah-jects. (The dips in the lake are ok also)

Skid loader tracks are a pain but that bike trail is going to be awesome. Nice job Steve. You guys can use used motor oil to treat the railroad ties to keep them from rotting. Mychi, you were made to make videos, you are really good at it. You should also make money at it. So don't ever stop.
That boat is too funny and what an effort to get it in place. You could make a story with it that a storm washed it up there. Ha. You guys were really busy.

Very entertaining video. Thanks! Be sure to vent the room with the batteries when you are charging them. The batteries will give off hydrogen which can combine with atmospheric oxygen in an explosive manner if it gets trapped and their is a spark. Disconnecting the charging connection can make a spark. Loved the story about Clyde being "rescued."
