@@philsketball not the greatest reputation. I’ll use them if it’s easy to swap out, price on oem or better quality part is really high, or that’s all that is available.
My wife drives a ‘16 Escape 2.0 turbo. The “engineering” in the engine compartment and around the cowl has me shaking my head… (Try doing a battery service or coolant reservoir top-up 🙄🤬!)
My 2010 crosstour has it come from a tube in the tank that follows the fuel rail, up the firewall, into the small purge valve, with another hose that goes into the intake manifold. Very simple
@@metalsurgeon9196 what does it being a turbo have to do with anything, all a purge valve does is take vapors from the gas tank and put them into the intake
Depends on your vehicles year, found this in a Google search since I don’t k ow the part number off hand. www.autozone.com/emission-control-and-exhaust/canister-purge-valve/p/duralast-canister-purge-valve-pv962/591652_0_0?cmpid=LIA:US:EN:AD:NL:1000000:ENM:19489353556&&CATARGETID=120054150001290145&CADevice=m&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9-Pagr6HgQMV0kl_AB0JJwJJEAQYASABEgL8JPD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.dsp
Just did a 2016 escape. About the same silliness. I put a dorman on so I can practice again.
lol, amazing mess they came up with and Dorman helps us get good at it! :)
Dorman parts junk?

Agree 100%! Amazing ideas they have. lol

Yeah, most are pretty simple.
Ya and it's not that simple on the escape of that year. It's turbo your crosstour isn't.

My 2020 escape has 48000 miles and the purge valve is fucked. I'm getting it fixed and getting rid of this piece of crao.
Yeah, they fail pretty often. Escape, Fiesta and Focus share a lot of parts.
When replacing cut lower tubes for access to locks.
Yeah, I would have but was worried about the parts being exactly the same. Thanks!
I used to hate doing the transmissions in these things they're not so bad after about 30 or 40 of them lol still sucks to get to the converter bolts 💩
Yeah, some of the design seems a bit ridiculous.
I have a 2017. What does this purge valve do exactly? What are the symptoms it's bad?
It will cause possibly a rough idle, lean codes and usually evap codes. P0171, P0455 and things like that.
@JimmyMakingitwork ok thanks for the info

My 2017 focus ST has the same problem and the dealership won’t fix it even though it had a recall. I’m going to replace it myself, is it difficult?
It’s not difficult, but the releases can be tricky and require some patience.
Please what is this part number. I can’t find it anywhere.

Is it means ford change the purge valve to the more messy look components and hoses?
Yeah,, for some applications, but not all.
@@JimmyMakingitwork ok thanks info 👍🏼
Like Medusa....
lol
What a mess.
Crazy how they come up with this stuff.
Vw 1.4 is not that bad
Probably not, this is just silly.
