i like clack because it sound just like how you hear when your frying some wet fish LMAO
I never thought about that but now I can't hear anything but that lmao
???😂😂
I like both, but lean more towards clack. It sounds like moving around pebbles :3
Same here! I like that analogy haha
clack sounds amazing
Originally, I wanted thock when I first got into custom keyboards. It gets really repetitive (the sound), so I think I lean more towards clack nowadays.
I find it to be a back and forth preference for me. Always wanting something fresh!
thock feels like an eraser
clack feels like building
i like both tbh
Same here!
Really nice builds! hoping to see a creamy build soon too :))
Soon!
Gimme god damn thocky ones! Their sounds are meditating for me. And I like lofi music too.
I like the presence of light open your blinds or something
I like both when they are linear switches and the main diff is sound deadening
Proud member of team THOCKKK
Something in between, my first build was thock, and i always had clack before, so now i settled on creamy
I love this keyboard man! can you make a Thock or Clack version 2?
I can!
thock and clack, i like to have both
A good clacky keyboard is just the best for me.
i like both of those but clack it sounds more like creamy and clicky
THOCK GANG RISE UP
Both, very tasty😋
They are both ok, but I think that clack is a little better
I love clack more, I think it’s more satisfying
if i type on a keyvoard with clack it feels like i am using a more premium board
thock
To me, that ain't enough clack
What I'm talking about is the IBM model Ms clacks which give me 1990 office vibes
Nothing beats the charm of the classic 90's office keyboards 👍
never let them know your next move: creamy
clack
but my keyboard thocks bc thats what i liked
I like thock the most. Clack is just too high pitched for my taste, too quiet and doesn't really sound that much at all
too quiet 💀 bruv thock is deep and quiet clack is high pitched n louder
Clack doesn't sound that much? Lol what?
Bro hell nah thock
clack sounds more creamy
They both sound like clack but the second one is more high pitched
Yeah, now that I come back to this video so many months later I do realize that. I believe at the time of making this video, it was my deepest keyboard. If you want to check out some real "thock" then I would point you to my tiger80 vid. Thanks for the comment!

@@shibekeebs oh yeah forgot your about page is good but I meant profile picture and username
@@BlakeAtStake93 Ah, I see. Thank you!
clack
Does plate foam makes the keyboard clackier or thockier? I have a clack build keyboard with plate foam but Idk if there's any sound difference if I remove it.
In my experience, it very slightly makes it a little deeper. I find plate foam to clean up the sound rather than make it thocky/clacky, but if you find that the plate foam takes too much away from the board's sound, then I suggest against it. In other cases, some boards have a thin sound due to certain plate and pcb cobfigurations, so I like to include plate foam to refine the sound a bit. imo, no plate foam makes the sound more resonant and open, whereas including plate foam will make keystrokes more refined and controlled.
i like you
And hate con
@@BlakeAtStake93 fuck you say about my boyfriend
the first one is more poppy and not thocky
thock all the way
i know it will be clack when i saw Cherry profile
clack cus in my opinion it sounds better
Definitely clack
The clack build is so much better than the thock build in this video, and the thock build sounds very generic
I need those japanese keycaps!
The set is GMK WoB Katakana, but it seems like Drop has stopped keeping them in stock, sadly. As an alternative, there are some clone keycaps with the same appearance if you search up "WoB Katakana Keycaps" on amazon or aliexpress but they're made of different materials, so I can't say if they have similar quality or sound profile :)
@@shibekeebs That great mechanical keyboard phenomenon: "Out of stock" XD
@@Der_X_Buddne all part of the hobby
i'm thockman
Thock is good but clack is better
I prefer thock
I may be an old fart n all... but having survived to the 30-45 + minutes of intermittent screeching and grinding noises while uploading games via a cassette tape (Yes, you read that right kids, CASSETTE TAPED GAMES) into my Atari 800 XLS, the discussion about how a keyboard sounds and the indistinguishable (for my deafened ears anyway) differences between clackin or thokin seem utterly surreal and absurd.
People my age are the ones who actually pioneered the early expansion of computing consciousness through wired, telephone line communications into BBSs before the advent of Internet -yes, there was something else BEFORE the Internet- and via Internet after the first step into the Singularity (do your homework and read Kurzweil and / or Greg Egan.... it's worth it!) became reality. The audition damage caused by THOSE sounds (czcams.com/video/gsNaR6FRuO0/video.html ahhhh, those days!!!!) is also exquisitely irreparable....maybe that's why people my age find actual "music" such as trap or reggaetton just a bunch of shitty chords and cannot even distinguish one from the other...it's a blessing rather than a curse, believe me.
We stroked our first letters of text and programmed our first lines of code in Turtle or DOS (the code coming alive on our green only -Yes, it says GREEN ONLY- Hercules Graphics card powered Monitors which was the Elite graphic tech at the time) in what was the only available option at those primitive times.... MECHANICAL KEYBOARDS. So yes: mechanical keyboards are another major comeback, revival, recovery, and rescue operation coming straight out of the late 80s.
Aint the 80s the best times ever!!?? Yes they undoubtedly were
I really appreciate the elaborate comment! While I'm quite young compared to the history of computer and keyboard technology, I've certainly heard tales of the primitive forms of home computers, as well as the rich history of what are now considered "vintage" keyboards. I find it particularly interesting to see how influential early forms of the keyboard are. Cherry spearheaded the hobby of mechanical keyboards into what it has become today, and their early products are still well renowned and sought after for their irreplicable quality of switches. I find it incredible to see how this niche hobby has rapidly evolved over time, yet pioneers of the mechanical keyboard still hold their charm after so many years. Still, there is undeniable passion in this community to pursue the appeal and nostalgia of early keyboards.
This video is one of my oldest, so my perception of the hobby was quite premature. I keep older videos such as this one to remind myself of the simple-minded curiosity that led me into this rabbithole. In the point I reached in this interest of mine, however, I can truly appreciate the hobby for its artistic qualities and rich past that it represents. I find myself very fortunate to have stumbled upon this rather particular hobby!
which ome you think is better? akko or bakeneko?
personally, I like the bakeneko65 better. It's hard to make builds with the akko mod005 since it has north facing sockets. On the other hand, the bakeneko has a lot of possibilities and has a great build quality for the price.
i like thock
why are you
i like thock more
But how do I mod my keyboards to tune em to a certain sound frequency?
It's mostly a matter of knowing which combination of parts will make different sounds. Mounting styles are a big one. Top mount is the highest pitch sounding if you want to check out my sonnet build, followed by gummy o-ring mount (the bakeneko), and the deepest is gasket mount (akko mod005). Much like keyboards, your choice of switch as well as keycaps also contribute to the general sound frequency of the board as well. If you want more elaboration on part choice, I'd be happy to continue.
Other than that, Keybored has a video that goes over the majority of keyboard mods and its effect on the keyboard's sound. I definitely reccommend checking that out!
I don’t think he’s typing
clack is just better beginners like mushed up thocks but as u get deeper u would start to enjoy the clacks more
I mean your pinkie fingers are useless, but at least you try to use other than the 2 index fingers.
This video is quite old, but it seems to be the one to get the most views and interaction haha. I've been learning to incorperate all of my fingers when I type, but my right pinky remains useless besides semicolons in java and quotations. In the process, I've been able to raise my pb wpm to 145, so it was well worth the effort!
no i like men
First one is thock?
indeed
What switches are the thock
lubed durock anubis switches
scratch that first reply, the first board has gateton oil kings
nothing
🥶🥶🥶
bro you didnt even write anythng
haha yeah, at the time I made this video, my recording setup didn't allow me to make these videos at my computer, so I just typed randomly to demonstrate the keyboard sounds
dont want to be an azzhole but I hate both, I wish my keyboard to be as silent as possible, even if it will be against physics 😄😄😄
It's all about preference! Sometimes I get tired of my loud boards and opt to use my silent one until I feel back in the mood 👍
clack
