I am interested to the history of the B-17 Flying Fortress since 2000 and doing research since 2017. It's still my hobby beside my full time job. I want to be accurate as possible with the information in my videos. However, if you find any mistakes or have additional information, please correct me and let me know :)

I used to have a customer who had been a B-17 waist gunner over Europe. I don't remember Alvin's last name or what airframes he served on. I do recall that he expressed appreciation for the B-17's greater durability compared to the B-24. His plane eventually went down from one mission's damage and he became a P.O.W.

Another one is Phyllis the Fortress. She got written up in Time Magazine. My uncle Bob was the co-pilot.

I believe, you mean the B-17 s/n 41-9020 'Phyllis' aka 'Tugboat Annie'?

@@B17FlyingFortress Yes! My Mom's brother, Robert Long, was the co-pilot.

'Hang the Expense' name got up to numbers 3 or 4 I think. I read a book where each time the Pilot got another aircraft after heavy damage, he renamed it with the larger number!

yes. Sometimes, the B-17 was named by ground crew (chief).

I am not a native English speaker. But it doesn't prevent me from telling the stories of American B-17 crews.
In the process, I also learn English and improve my English skills. :)

What a stupid comment. He is providing concise and informative narration on real events. What have you done? If you're able to do better, then do it. Otherwise, just be quiet.

You're just a troll. It was informative, clear and well presented. You're an absolute muppet to think that this type of historical analysis is redundant because of an accent.

Could've been damage to their intercom system and they had no way to know of they had been ordered to bail out. I'm not going to judge someone where split seconds can be the difference between life and death.
