The first solo flight is an important step in any pilot's career and I recently passed my first check flight with BAA Training here in Lleida (LEDA), which allowed me to fly my first ever circuit on my own. Enjoy the flight - I sure did!
Thanks to my instructor David and my checker Freddie for getting me this far!
Thanks for watching, and if you have any feedback or questions, just let me know!

Danke! ✌️
Well done, Jonathan 👏
I want to do the same thing in the future 🔮
Thank you! ✈️
I love you ❤️🤝
Congratulations ...
Thank you!
When starting the engine, I recommend that one hand should always be on the throttle :) nice video bud
Good point, that does make a lot of sense especially in these planes, the throttles sometimes have a life of their own 😂 Thanks for the tip!
@@PilotJonathan Exactly! :D
Awesome, you're one step closer to the airlines. Piloting isn't really my speciality of aviation, but I know how hard you have to work and how disciplined you have to be. Making it this far is truly a massive achievement.
Just a request could you do a video about upset recovery, and under the hood flying. There has been a lot of emphasis on this in recent years, so it'd be interesting to hear a current day students opinion of this.
I am planning on it, however currently still pretty far away from it - but yes, everything interesting I am able to film will be filmed ✌️
@@PilotJonathan Also I know that you're far too sensible and professional to ever do this.
But during the flight did it ever cross your mind to do a barrel roll?
Cause I know that I would have been tempted.
Never seriously of course, but it's a joke that comes up every once in a while 😂 And it's surely a fun thing to do - in the right plane at the right time and place - so I have thought of doing an aerobatic rating at some point in the future!
You are living in my dream. the dream that I could never pull off
I thought so too for a long time, but sometimes things just work out!
well done bro
Thank you!
This is awesome! I start school for my PPL this tuesday. I'm kind of nervous but this also made me really excited. Any tips for documenting the process through youtube?
Hi, good luck for your training! My tip would be to focus on training and only film when you're comfortable with flying already!
El día más emocionante. Es EL DÍA.
¡Enhorabuena!
Una pregunta, ¿es ese el aeropuerto de Lérida?
Correct, this is Lleida-Alguaire Airport - LEDA
@@PilotJonathan Thank you!
Wow proud of you.
Thank you!
Hello Jonatham , i am searching for a good training academy from which i can become a professional airline pilot , can you guide me about BAA and the total cost it bears ? Am really happy to see one of my age boy , into this , it lifts heart ,stay blessed ❤️
Hi, I made a video about the cost and some other FAQs here: czcams.com/video/cXL4YW2RWgM/video.html
Apart from that I also talk a lot about my experience in all of my videos of becoming a pilot!
Congratulations - at your pilot school do you need A-Levels?
Thank you - and you need to have completed secondary education, I'm not sure about the specifics, but you can contact BAA Training directly and they'll be happy to answer your questions! ✈️
@@PilotJonathan Thanks for replying + the advice.
No problem, don't hesitate to contact me if you have any more questions!
If you don’t mind me asking how much money did it cost to get to this point in your training?
I don't really have a number up until this point, since the contract just specifies a total - check out this video for FAQs: czcams.com/video/cXL4YW2RWgM/video.html
@@PilotJonathan thanks
Hello is glasses are ok? For being a pilot?
Hi, short answer, yes! I go into a bit more detail here: czcams.com/video/cXL4YW2RWgM/video.html
Noticed you are spending a little too much time glancing at the instruments there btw around 2:18. Very common mistake early on. Need to build up your scan pattern a bit more.
I was taught "Attitude, Performance, Attitude, Lookout" (APAL) as a good VFR scan pattern (especially when turning) So look out at the horizon know you have the right attitude, glance at a relevant instrument to get performance data, check your attitude again, look out into the direction of flight (eg into the corner) and keep repeating.
Congrats on getting the first solo out of the way.
Thank you, and yes, definitely guilty as charged! That's actually the disadvantages of having a lot of IFR simulator hours - I instinctively try to work off the instruments and it's quite tricky to slowly get used to actually looking outside 😂
Hii I am also want to be a pilot . I am from India .. it would be great pleasure for me if you can help me in preparation of my DGCA exams because I am not taking ground classes ..
If you have any specific questions let me know and I'll see what I can do - but Google and CZcams are for most things great resources to learn as well!
