Yamaha's ultimate adventure bike? - Absolutely, I think so. Absolutely marvellous bike.
Pretty glaring omission to not mention the Aprilia.
Still patiently waiting for a Tenere 900 globetrotter, adventure king to be released. Cmaaaan Yamaha!
Are you sure that Yamaha released tenere 900 globetrotter???? because im ready to buy a world raid and i m thinking what will be the next tenere...😊
cheers from Greece !
a T7 lover !
Fantastic video. Love the new format, bike review and footage quality. More POV please.
I would love an explanation for why Yamaha is not bringing ANY of the special models to the US?
About to either order an Extreme or a Tuareg 600, I think it's closest rival is the Aprilia Tuareg 660 which a lot of people over look and is one of the best all round ADV's a test ride on both will be the decider for me.
Tuareg for me 👍🏼
You're about to order a Tuareg 600? Are you time travelling?
Do you want to ride the bike? Take the Yamaha.
Do you want to repair the bike?take the Aprilia
Japan 🇯🇵 reliability 💪… T7 would look sweet next to my WR450….
Aprilia tuareg is a much better bike.
Tell Yamaha to bring the extreme to America!!!
👍
I was a Yamaha guy for almost 4 decades.
Picked up a Ducati DesertX because Yamaha ignores the US market.
Congratulations Yamaha! Ignore your US customers, and they'll go away. 👋
The DesertX isn't even 1 year old yet has over 12.5k miles on it. 😊
Most riding has been done in north and west Texas.
This is good news for the ADV crowd. I have a 21 T7 which spends most of it's life on road. It's been flawless for me other than being a bit top heavy for off roading. Better tires and suspension was needed for dirt use.
It still has the weak exhaust hanger, and too much weight up high.
My two main issues with the T7. (I sold mine)
I loved the bike on the road. And I loved it on fast flowing off road. But it didn’t fill me with confidence when things got technical or very slippy.
I loved it. But it wasn’t for me.
Shame they haven’t addressed that very weak exhaust hanger on this latest version. A couple of drops on that side easily bends the hanger, which damages the swing arm. And because the hanger is a part of the subframe, it’s can be much more of an issue than it should be.
(Even if they left the weakness but made it a bolt on hanger, that would make it much easier to address the issue. )
im thinking to buy the extreme, as my africa twin 1100, is a handful on the technical stuff on the TET... what would you recomend instead? what did you buy ? ktm adventure r?
@@firstbloood1 get a tenere nothing comes close to it off road I use mine for greenlaning and enduro events it takes time to get use to such a bike but now after 9 months I cannot get on with a 250/450 enduro race bike there like kids toys to me I will never ride any other bike for the rest of my riding life, I do plan to put my own review up soon
@@Twistsquishbang i purchased the extreme t7, waiting pickup this week
@@firstbloood1 excellent you won’t be disappointed👌🏻
@@Twistsquishbang waiting for it.
This would sell in the US, if only they would bring it.
I wonder why you didn’t mention the Aprilia Tuareg, with it's lower seat height and quality suspension 🤔
And the workshop bills of an Aprilia? 🤣
@@shinysideup2134exactly
@@shinysideup2134 they still should have mentioned it. they could easily add a cost of ownership kind of metric to compare them. did they mention anything about the cost of the yamaha ownership? they may have but i drifted off at one point.
This is a Tenere video. Not a comparison vid. The T7 is the best one anyway 🤷🏻♂️
@@MT-THNDR207 they compared the others. transalp, suzuki, ktms, etc. they were mentioned in passing, so should the aprilia be mentioned.
Hello, this is a nice video, thank you for that. I have ridden Honda Transalp and then Africatwin since 1992 until last year. the rd03 650 cc the rd04 (warhorse) the best off-road/all-road. and twice the rd07 750 cc.
I have a Yamaha World Raid. wonderful simplicity, super suspension, wonderful character CP2 engine. In other words, the perfect new replacement for the Africa Twin RD04. and super economical.🎉🎉
Onboard video looked great. Nice model.
I like that someone has pointed it out. To add 4,76 kg of fuel (which are 7 liters) they increased the weight of 16 kg...which need more fuel to be moved...smart move.
The extreme is the top of the range not the world raid
Great and informative video 👍🏻 But you should really have mentioned the Aprilia Tuareg 660 as the main competitor - and almost everyone who has ridden the Tuareg consider it superior to the Ténéré, regardless of model variant. Just saying.... 😉🏍️💨
nice review...thanks mate...oh for a bigger garage...and more money!
Super review 👍🏻🇨🇮
Gotta ask, but are these "icon blue" as official? I love this color. I want this.
Gonna take a few years to save up but this is the bike I want.
I know the beak is practical but to me it takes from the look of a beautiful bike.
Will this ever be available in the US?
Lovely bike, but still waiting for a tubeless option before I consider one.
anyone know details on that green helmet? I'm unfamiliar
The new BMW 900 enduro stacks up against this now too
Where’s Michael Guy? He’s the best…
The extreme model appeared on my local market a month ago and i cant take my mind off it. Too bad i’m poor 😭
I bought it, its my absolute favorite bike… and i got a lot of bike before it. But if you are a short rider forget it 😂
I am thinking about tenere extreme. All life I rode naked bikes. Do u think I’ll enjoy. No test drive now. Just normal tenere.
@@kamillo334 it is definitely higher then the standard tenere, i just came home from a 3 day trip with it. It was really great, i may just fix the spongy rear break
Yamaha, listen up... We want a Tenere 900 with 105hp, cruise control, ABS, traction control, and fully adjustable suspension. Weight no more than 475 lbs.
Honda made one, it's called the Africa Twin, other than the weight, which is a fantasy.
Take it Husqvarna Norden 901.
Comparing the price to the DesertX Rally?
The DDX-R has TOP level forks/shock/wheels. Price them, these parts ALONE are around 6k.
Yep comparing complete different bikes. World raid is not even close.
The bike looks better the older it gets.
I haven't ridden any T7, but all serious offroad reviews don't mention the weight per se, but more how top heavy the bike is. Ktm and Aprilia have proven that it doesn't have to be top heavy in this weight class, it would be good to see Yamaha try to get that weight down lower. I want this bike for its engine, but I think it will spend too much time offroad in soft sand and slower stuff
you get lower fuel in the world raid you just don't have to fill it up to the brim :)
Aprilia 600 end of review
Aprilia = Workshop bills
If only any of these were coming to the US...
*STILL haven't figured out how to put on tubless tires on this thing yet Yamaha?*
*wheels
Changing a tube is not hard.
You can always get some 3M 5200 and seal the spoke nipples.
For what?
Lots of aftermarket components to adjust this bike to most people’s needs
Did Yamaha change the color of the blue or is your video color editing massively off?
Its the video
Im confused, does he want an adventure bike with longer range, offroad capability, gear carrying and GPS support, or does he want a WR450F with Tenere written on the side?
To me a 200kg twin should stay on the blacktop and gravel, not serious off road.
You have to be big and strong otherwise, i aint.
Sold mine, always worried i would get stuck when riding alone.
i feel the same with my africa twin.. what do you recommend? apart fro m a full enduro which i already have... 690 or 701?
@firstbloood1 well thats what i went to, a 21 690.
Its not an enduro, have you ever ridden an enduro or mx bike?
Put a screen on the 690 and get the suspension done properly as well as a remap and done.
@@darrellbarry3402 i own a fe501, road registered.. i hate the single ,vibration for road.. its the worst.. hows the 690 on the road.
@@firstbloood1 the 690 is great on the road, its a twin Counterbalanced engine. The T7 was marginally better because of the screen. Dont expect off road performance luke the FE though, its alway a trade off
I was going to go with a 500 exc but maintenance intervals would have been a pain.
I had a 701 enduro rally modded and now i own the tenere extreme, this bike is very good in soft and medium offroad. It’s really an all rounder. For hard enduro even the 701 was too heavy… so what ? Most people would be blown away about this bike’s capacity. It’s a very good bike that doesnt fear mud or doing 4 hours on tarmac…
Time to test an AJP PR7
I wonder why this bike is not compared to the Aprilia Tuareg 660? The tuareg is the real rival
When will we get an 'adventure bike' that will do what Land Rover offer in terms of bridging the gap between on and off road capability?
Toyota Landcruiser is a much better example of what you are taking about. Better offroad and more reliable while still being very comfortable on road
What do you mean? Aren't most adventure bikes like that?
Most are like that. None of them can give you skill if that's what you don't have. But you can't have a bike which is both amazing on and off road. You said bridging a gap, so there's going to be compromise, and there are loads of options in that category. He talks at length about some of them in this video.
@@HartyBiker But not as comfortable as a LR on road, not even close. It sounds like OP is looking for a magic bike.
Eh... needs more power and a bolted sub frame and bolt on exhaust hanger..on top of better suspension. Still a great bike
I feel I am watching a commercial. No real criticisms, gloss over mention of competitors. Bought and paid for by Yamaha. This is not a review - it is a product presentation - which is fair, except it is dressed up to be a 'review'.
There's very less to complaint about when it comes to tenere. And whatever complaints people had they fixed it in Extreme.
“Good for touring” you say? Not long distance touring day after day on asphalt. This one leans to the dual sport side…heavy on the adventure and less on the touring when it comes to adventure touring.
Sad thing is, this motorcycle is incredibly tall (910mm seat height) and it has the fuel tank above that. Another tall people only bike.
I’m 6´9 / 150kg and the majority of bikes are too small for me to ride! There is also the problem with gear. Only a few manufactures produce gear that fits tall/big riders!
@@peer-olafkremer4715 Yup, it sucks to be on either end of the spectrum.
How tall are you? I’m 5,8 and this bike is perfect for me, if bikes were made for midgets only they wouldn’t make any money. Do you see cars for midgets? Grow up shorty.
Well, they also make the version that is 20 mm lower than the standard. So maybe look at the version that is lower and not the version that is higher than the standard if you want a low bike?
@@user-do1sr9wg1w Because the suspension and ground clearance sucks on that version. On my Ktm 790 adv it is easier to reach the ground than on a standard Tenere even though it has 260mm ground clearance and 240mm suspension. Tuareg same. But a Ktm is a Ktm and Aprilia is Italian and I don't have the patience for them anymore. I want a Japanese bike now :D
If you are looking for a new better bike F900GSA with Ride Pro package £14,885 with triple black paint. The dogs boll0x
Sold Tenere after one season and 12000km, top heavy as "£$£
Compared to what? Yeah the ktm's and the big beemers don't feel so top heavy but is it a real problem.. 🤔
@@Scratti80 on the road the engine is weak, in offroad the whole motorcycle feels heavy. It is a great bike, just a bit booring overall
My dream bike ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤pray for me
43 mm kyb front suspension on both standard and extreme. So, it sounds a bit like snake fat this talk about the " huge " improvement. IF they come up with 48 mm front suspension then i start listening 😊
AJP PR7
Harley or T7 🤔
9m0 in... If you're off-roading this thing on PCP? Maybe you're foolish?. Won't this bugger up your exit value? 'Cos you're bound to have dropped/scratched it up?
Don't have to give it back
John minnis😅
Why is it the motorcycle MEN (not boys) of the world are obsessed with height. 99% of modern bikes seem to be built for adults with the frames of boys. Stop whining.
The KOVE 800 X and Rally version will blow any of these players away
Dislike because no pov riding review footage like every other channel.
If you want to appeal to a wider audience, you should speak in a more understandable tone. You swallow the words and talk in a rush. Just a friendly suggestion.
I'm norwegian and I understand every word of what he was saying 😉🏍️🏁🇧🇻
