Working at an outdoors store, and being in the knife department, I CANNOT tell you how cool this video was. To recognize so many of the knives, and then to not recognize the rest was even cooler! I would so love working there.
We all geek out when someone gets something new esp when it is something we are seeing for the first time!

I love smkw! Recently, my daughter went to Gatlinburg to visit family. She heard me telling her mom that I wanted desperately to go check it out..this was during the Christmas holidays and they were closed for the weekend. She stayed an extra day just to get me a knife from smkw. I love my children to pieces.

The pocket check with Jason was my favorite part! The "lowly" Ganzo and the story behind it was great. Knives don't have to be expensive to be special and/or useful. Glad I watched!

2 road trips through there I made my buddies stop in. 1st trip they were all about it but after 2 hours they threatened to leave me there. Next trip as soon as we see a billboard on the highway they wanted to go but they set rules on time I was allowed. Thanks guys..
Spyderco matriarch 2 emerson wave, Ka Bar TDI, Streamlight ProTac, Victorinox swiss card lite. That little victorinox card is my 3rd I believe. The scissors are excellent. Light is tank. Knives... scary awesome. That Emerson wave is not for beginners lol. Thinking about getting one of the SpiderCo with the new handle texture. Or a Yojimbo I have a problem lol

I was just there 4 days ago buying a brand new Spyderco!!! Every year I go to Tennessee on vacation in the winter and every year I go to Smoky Mountain Knife Works and get a new knife been doing it for 20 plus years I freaking love The Knife Works

Hey TC!!! I’m glad my pocket check was worthy. I change what folder I carry(you caught me with my Manix 2), Gerber Dime and Olight Arkfeld. P365XL in a G-Code appendix holster. Olight keychain light. Prytool, and small Gerber keychain knife. It was awesome meeting with you and Greg in the store the other day!!! The fiancé really enjoys watching your videos with me and has become a super fan of y’all and knife collecting
hows that arkfeld working out for you? how long have you been carrying it so far? in the pocket does it feel similar to an 18650 flashlight? do you see yourself going back to an i5t?
@@MrNiceGuy80x5 , the Arkfeld with UV, seems super slim in my pocket. I own both types of Arkfeld. The light output is better than the i5T. Been carrying it for about a month now.

This video highlights what I love about the USA. Knives are tools not weapons, young men and ladies are given responsibility young and educated correctly on the use of anything with a blade. Here in the UK people have only negativity drilled into them on the subject of bladed tools. Keep doing what your doing USA because your not the negativity in this world so carry on being an example of good education and understanding.

I pretty much within the last couple of years got away from the "new hype of the week" stuff. I use most everything I carry now and have put away my custom higher dollar pieces. I've now gotten myself into the fixed blade frenzy and it's a lot of fun!

I started receiving your catalog 2 years ago and was blown away by your selection. SMKW is great to buy from. some of my collection came from there. Some of my favorites that I own are all of my Microtech autos. Folders would be Benchmade as I worked 27 years in private security and always carried a griptilian. Fixed blade would be my Randall 14 attack with all the bells and whistles, Black micarta border patrol handle, stainless blade with saw teeth, nickel silver double curved hilt, and black sheath.

I was there year before last. My wife surprised me with a detour when we were traveling through Tennessee and KY. It's amazing in there. Too many knives to see all of them. My favorite part was the stuff on the walls not for sale. Got to handle amazing blades that I couldn't afford which to me is really great. Overall, it's just an amazing store.

I bought a CKC Colonial Quick Flick Spring Assisted Knife Green Camo. I just adjusted it so that the blade is perfectly centered now too.
Starting at the bottom here and learning about all these brands, super steels etc....I can only move up and start to add more knives to collect.

I like the screen saver of the girl in the office. "I don't always roll a joint, but when I do, it's my ankle". That was an enjoyable video. I love the stories that go along with the knives. Everybody has one, a pocket knife and a story. So do I. About thirty years ago I lost a new folder I was carrying that had a pocket clip. I took it out to use and must have been standing in front my car at the time and then I put it back in my pocket or so I thought. I drove home from where I was about 20 miles from home. When I got home, I went to use my knife and it was gone. When I went to use my car, while approaching it from the front, I saw my new knife hanging from the front license plate frame and it was open hanging by the pocket clip just off the ground. The blade edge at the tip had a couple small chips in it from the drive home earlier, but it worked as normal. I call it my lucky knife.

Got a QSP Hawk. Honey Badger (small) that’s for my daughter. Camillus mini bushcraft (beater) and nebo 2000 (light). I usually only carry one blade but the honey badger is too much fun to fidget with. And I’m doing some grunge work. So the Camillus came out of retirement.

We went to pigeon forge for vacation back in 2018. I drove over to your store and was in Heaven!! One of the coolest places I’ve ever been to! Unfortunately I only had about 2 to spend so I was kinda rushed but it was still a great time and a great memory. Such a beautiful area too!!
And I’m also a huge Spyderco fan!

ELMAX I was in your store a few years ago. I went in the upstairs door food truck on the right side. I walked up to the counter asked the guy if he had a knife that if it was in my pocket I could push a button and the blade would come out of my pants lol .. we looked at a few then he brought out the ELMAX he said he didn’t know if it would do it or not. I put it in my pocket pushed the button and the blade came straight out threw my pocket and my pants we both looked at each other and laughed “sold” The button is designed so it can’t open by itself. Thank-you ELMAX
I emptied one of my CR bags and I gave out the last Old Timer stockmans that I had to my Sons. Bought several back in the late 70s along with a few Bucks and Schrades when a local shop closed.

I've got a cheap Gerber liner lock that I found in the East bound lane of the 4th Street bridge about a year ago. Had been run over a number of times, liners we're bent, had some roadrash on the scales. Took it to the shop, cleaned and tuned it up for my EDC......I doubt if I'll ever loose it.......That only happens to my good knives. I'm a happy man.

They always say get a job you love and you'll never work again. If I could work it would be with a company exactly like yours. I love knives, any and all kinds. I always have a Gerber MP400 multi tool on me at all times, a Kershaw assisted open sheep's foot blade (not sure of the model) and a tiny super thin Gerber liner lock. For a light I have a Hart 700 lumen led 3 cell with pocket clip. Sometimes a fixed blade SOG or Buck hangs on the belt, depending on what I plan on doing for the day. The only problem with working there would be me spending a big chunk of my check there every payday. Yes, I have a problem. Lol. Great Video!
We love working here! Sometimes it is helping someone find their 1st knife, other days seeing a collection come in of rare or one of a kinds, and then there is always car shows going on around us as well!
That was Great! Kinda like watching a strangely knife obsessed family.. Just like my family at Christmas!

I feel like most people would think if you work in a knife store, you are somewhat obligated to carry your own knife. But on the other side, if you work in a knife store, its not exactly difficult to find a knife if you need one xD
It always amazes us how many people don't carry any kind of knife or scissors
I loved this. I am carrying a Benchmade Aileron in S30V in my right pocket and a SOG Visionary II in VG10 in my left pocket. I do have the clip flipped on the SOG for left side carry. Thrunite BSS W1 is my light. I also have a Civivi Crit and a Pokka Pen.

I'm carrying a BM 940-2 (from SMKW), Skeletool and a Frelux Synergy 1.5.
I've bought many knives from SMKW both for myself and as gifts and have always been very happy with the service and quality of the products they sell.... I miss the weekly T.V. show they used to have where they promoted and sold many different knives.
My wife used to get on me about all the knives I bought, until I pointed out that just one of her fancy designer hand bags cost more than most of my knives all together!!!...... She don't complain any more....
