    I upgraded from an evo4 to an iD14 Mkii. The headphone audio is now perfect. If I won this competition I'd donate it to you as I'm sure you know a deserving up and coming musician who would put it to good use.

    Nice in depth review, and a good level of control available on the front of the interface itself without having to resort to software like so many companies now make you do.
    Watching with interest to see how it fares when plugged into your Pi400, fingers crossed that it's fully class compliant and no drivers required for us Linux guys.

    8 channels with smart gain, individual phantom power on each channel, stereo linking channels easily, and then an additional 16 in/out at this price point. Brilliant.
    A true “brand with red interfaces” killer.

      Thanks! Yeah I’ll talk to the team and see if it’s rolling out across the others, but I think it will since this is a driver level issue, so it should affect everything across the board.

    I bought one and definitely see the value as a preamp. My experience is, it sounds a lot like my Focusrite Scarlett that I take in tour. I bought it to add i/o to my Apollo for mixing, but the inability to bypass the preamp and the color they add(although they’re supposed to be transparent) makes mixing a big tricky! They definitely have a sound. I think if you’re already in the audient ecosystem or just need a bunch of extra pres then this is a great move! But for mixing i/o this wasn’t the answer for me. Also, headroom is an issue, but hey it’s got a lot of features so there’s no denying the value and usefulness.

    I have a Focusrite Clarett 4Pre, and this seems very appealing to help streamline content creation as well as have more routing capabilities. Regarding the preamps, if you know, how do they compare?

    • @MrlegendOr
      @MrlegendOr Před rokem +1

      @@adamsteelproducer This is common practice among sound card manufacturers. When they increase the outputs, they just double the converters chips. I think they do this because It's easier for stock management, logistic and wholesale prices. EVO 4 & 8 uses AK5552VN. That being said, they also have could change converters chips and I could be wrong. For the moment this is all we have.😀

    • @adamsteelproducer
      @adamsteelproducer  Před rokem +1

      I see the logic, but I think they may have moved away from akm chips since the factory fire

      @@adamsteelproducer Hmm Perhaps, I hope so. AKM would have resumed production in 2022, under its VELVET SOUND brand. I'm even more curious now 😁

      Exactly what Warren said. Most midi keyboards now have USB, and you can get usb to midi adapters cheap if you need them. When the aim is to Make equipment on a budget, you have to cut out features that not many people use, no matter how loud the minority

      Spoken like a true Audient fan boy, since most other home recording interfaces still have the MIDI connector. Can't be prohibitively expensive or they wouldn't have it either.
