It’s never boring time with dank.
You should make a kit that is all DXP cymbals with a St. Anger snare.
Also, steel cymbals can sound good. They just need to be made properly (i.e., not painted to prevent the gong/bonk sound).
It can't be that hard to source an old paint can for the snare, eh?
Acetone time!
Scraptrap if he was a drum set:
The GM sounds like it's a rainy day outside, and it's nice and warm inside. Would go well with a piano/upright/drum trio, sounds gorgeous imo
I'd never seen this channel before and got mentally flashbanged when I heard dankpods' voice
4:00 Master work Blank Crash sounds like slamming a shopping cart into the cart corral.
5:53 "I don't need to say any words after this"
And he didn't.
Omg this may just be the sound I've been searching for for my next crash cymbal. Never would I have thought it would be an unfinished boy. The jazz boys are gonna love this.
I actually love the egg cymbal, and it seems especially suited towards jazz music, because that little jazz jam you did sounded so good! I kind of want one of those cymbals, actually. They look hilarious, yet they sound amazing.
The egg sounds… insane, but also fantastic? It takes a second to adjust your expectations, but I kind of love the sound of it
6:42. I died laughing
I did aswell! The juxtaposition between the jazz rides and the wacky and out of place sound made it funny to me
i'd almost describe those blanks as *papery* like you're crumpling up a piece of parchment paper with every hit it's fascinating
When I was in high school, I wanted to play drums so badly that a friend of mine bought me a pair of drum sticks for Christmas. I set up a range of cardboard boxes, and set up an old floor-standing fan as a cymbal. It sounded like the DXP.
The DXP steel cymbal really has the resonant character of a staircase railing 😂
Knew nothing about drums, but once I saw that title and the style of the thumbnail I knew it was Dankpods. Great to I have another channel to listen to this funny australian dude👍
This truly is a "Drum thing™"
That blank crash is nasty sounding, I love it. Definitely think that it would sound great as a trash crash for some Animals As Leaders type grooves
these dirty egglikes are bold and brash and I love them. Heavy industrial vibes.
I always come back to this video for some reason despite knowing very little about drums. It's THAT entertaining.
The blanks would sound really sick as part of a metal kit, imagine those things in a breakdown
6:05 DONK.
I really loved the sound of the 16" Sabian Prototype. So lush and warm, yet it still had a distinct edge to it. Very tasty. That steel cymbal was absolutely horrendous though. I never realized how important material choice was!
I genuinely really like the way that cymbal sounds, i seem to have acquired that taste pretty fast
That Steel symbal brought to my head the image of sailors being trapped under their boat.
The blank crashes sound like they'd fit really well into rock music
Those cymbals sound so special, in a industrial music context these would be my go to for a weird drum kit
