In this video I will show you how to transfer all your WhatsApp chat history from an iPhone to an Android device, in this case the new Google Pixel 7 with Android 13. I'm using an iPhone 6s with iOS 15.7.1

i tried multiple times and i've done exactly what you've been doing, but i know where the issue happens, but i don't understand why. when it finishes copying the files and apps it specifies "whatsapp chats not imported" and i don't know what to do. still tried to open the app but as said, there is no importing going on, i'm using a oneplus nord2

Great video! probably the best one I've seen on youtube for doing transfer whatsapp history. One suggestion for future videos: please mention that "settings > name > iCloud > iCloud Drive" must be on in order to backup whatsapp on iOS. Just spent 4 hours thinking my whatsapp or phone had issues

During the transfer, whatsapp app quit and I lost everything. I also had to ensure the screen was unlocked and open the entire time which meant I had to touch the screen every 30 seconds and I did that for 45 minutes until the app quite. This is an Apple problem. I had no issue going from Pixel to iPhone last year, BIG F**** issues going back to the Pixel this year.

Hi : )Great video but I have an Iphone SE and the option of export chat isn't there. The only possible visible options are either export chat which apparently you have to do one chat at a time, or archive chats. Of course I would then have to export the archived chats : / I have never used the cloud. Can you help? Thanks

Not sure if I missed any of the steps, other than the first backup on iPhone. The iPhone backs up on iCloud (with no option to put it on Google drive) whereas Pixel prompts restoring data from Google drive.
Following all the processes told in the video, the QR code for WhatsApp just does not show up. And therefore, there is no option to transfer the backup from iOS to Pixel.
I've done it several time with Pixel 3, Pixel 6 and Pixel 7, I've just got the Pixel 6A and will do a video about it. Looks like you are skipping a step. Very important to update everything, very important to do that initial backup in WhatsApp iPhone then on iCloud and then you procede.
@@SuAmigoAlexyes, I think I will it give it one more try before discarding a perfectly good Pixel 7 pro 😊 Hopefully there is some easier way to have cross-platform chat backup option.
The issue I have right now is that the Chat Backup Option is greyer out and an exclamation mark which states it should be on iCloud. Have just deactivated that, and hopefully will check thru later tonight.

Make sure you have enough iCloud storage to do a full backup before doing the transfer
I've tried this twice going from iphone 7 to pixel 6a and both times it hasn't asked for a qr code and all my history has gone - any idea why? I'm copying all my apps over not just whatsapp.
1. Update your iPhone to the latest iOS available on your phone.
2. Do a WhatsApp backup on the iPhone
3. Do an iCloud backup
4. Update your Pixel to the latest Android version available.
5. Factory reset your Pixel
6. Sign in to your Google account when asked.
7. That Google account needs to be the same gmail you used on WhatsApp iPhone.
8. Follow the video don't skip any step

@@markusschmitz6138 i dont understand it... what do you mean you removed your backup password from iphone via itunes? you mean that the backup is somehow protected and you need to remove the password requirement? then the question is why the names of the chats get transferred and not the messages?
@@SuAmigoAlex On #7, what do you mean to use the same gmail as on the Whatsapp iPhone? Since iPhone doesn't allow WhatsApp backups to Google Drive. Does your Google account email have to match your iCloud email in order for this to work properly?

@@SuAmigoAlex This link advises how to transfer whatsapp data/history from android to iphone. What I need is from iphone to pixel 7 pro (the pixel 7 is already set up/i have set it up already. I did not do it initially so that's my problem. I have tried it multiple times and it is not transferring. I am getting frustrated.
@@SuAmigoAlex yeah i would like to know that too, i mean you can try starting to transfer, doest it mandatory have to be flashed to factory reset phone? what if Android phone is already set up and you would like to do only the whatsapp chat transfer?
I wonder if whatsapp back up is an important thing here, because the IOS phone we are moving from is out of memory and it keeps saying that we need to liberate more space (there is really nothing more to liberate and i really cant understand why the local memory is neccessary for the backup). So the question is if we dont do the backup previously and just copy all the messages as you say - will it work out just as well or not...
On the iPhone the WhatsApp back up is NOT saved in Google Drive, it's saved on iCloud. So my recommendation is to also do a fresh iCloud backup.
@@SuAmigoAlex i tried these steps (without backup done, because the memory is lacking, no space on the local phone) - but the chats only transfered the names of them, they are empty inside no history got transfered, i wonder if it is becuse of the back up issue or I need to come to use the third party software to do the transfer cause this method is not working (again there is this back up issue due to lack of local memory). Do you have any advice on what software i should use?
@@happysilvester I had the same problem. I then removed the backup password from my iPhone via itunes (or finder on a Mac) and then it worked.

I factory reset my pixel 6a to do the same. It only shows options for general photos and videos backup in my pixel 6a. No options for apps contacts etc...

When I try this, I don't get the "Transfer WhatsApp chats" screen. I've tried it around 10 times today (factory resetting the Android each time), and this screen never comes up. My Whatsapp groups & profile pic do transfer, but none of the chats do. What gives?

I have found a solution to this, it so happened that even after selecting everything to be transfered from my iphone, nothing actually transfered. The weird part is that I got no error, but after I started my Pixel device no messages, no images, nothing actually transfered to my new phone. And my WhatsApp didn't bring the option to restore a backup, the only option was to restore from my Google account. After trying 3 times using 2 different cables I decided to try a 4th time with a different cables and it worked, it worked so well I was very impressed. Just to imagine I was going to give up and lose important conversations. Keep on trying different cables is my advice if the restore option isn't appearing.

Mi whatsapp tiene 6.53 GB he tratado gracias a tus videos de hacer el proceso una vez lo deje 36 horas y no terminó, ya solo me importa pasar el whatsapp la demás información es sencilla de pasar. En realidad que tanto tiempo me va a llevar porque obvio no puedo utilizar el whatsapp mientras está el proceso o es probable que mejor compre una app de terceros que anuncian para hacerlo por el tamaño, recomendaciones por favor?
Si por el tamańo creo q la app funcionaria mejor.

I believe i did all the steps but it didn’t work for me. On my new pixel 7 after what’s app install, it doesn’t show ‘importing chat history screen like in this video instead it shows import from google drive, continue and then next screen give permission shows google drive account. What am I doing wrong?
I have what’s app two factor authentication enabled, does it interfere with this process?

You can’t. You will need to convert business to regular to do the transfer or buy software to do it

@@SuAmigoAlex ı find out the solution if someone ask you'll answer. The QR code didn't appear but my new phone asked me my iCloud backup password. I reset phone settings and removed backup password then QR code appeared

On the importing stage it goes to 78% then fails and goes to profile name and then loads up without my chat history. Tried 10 times and get the same result. What should I do?

@@SuAmigoAlex trying to move whatsapp from iphone 7 to google pixel 7 pro.
Everything is fine but when it gets to the last step (importing) it fails at 78% then says couldnt import and at that point if i open the app it doesnt have my chat history.
Around 20gb shows on my iphone whatsapp before transfer and on my pixel storage it shows the same capacity.
So the transfer is working the problem is with the importing.
Also not a wifi or data problem as wifi and sim data is connected.
Also not a storage issue as over 200 gb free on pixel and over 50gb free on iphone.
Been trying so many times and factory reset and transfer all over again for more than a week.
Dunno what the problem is nothing on youtube or google. Google support and whatsapp support also not helping.
Facing the exact same issue, shifting from iPhone 13 to pixel 7. Post transfer on the pixel it shows “some chats can’t be transferred” and then during importing on what’s app it gets stuck at 70 percent and only half the chats get transferred. Have tried it like 7-8 times
@@hussainataee5353 maybe you just have some corrupt file or data among your chats, maybe you should try deleting stuff leaving most important ones and then do a backup

This DOES NOT WORK if you have anything more than 50mb of storage like the guy who made the video. What's worse, this process is arduoius and took me 6 hours with 185GB of data to transfer and only 6GB data of WhatsApp. On top of that, the video make dismissed a crucial issue. Just before you do the restore, you MUST turn off the screen saver on the Pixel otherwise you will have to tap the screen every 25 seconds for 45 minutes until Whatsapp on the pixel crashed. I wasted 10 hours doing all this BSSS shame on you, shame on Whatsapp, shame on pixel, shame on iPhone. any alternatives!?!!?!
