In this video I will show you how to transfer WhatsApp chats from iPhone to Android. I'm using an iPhone 7 with iOS 15.7.8 and a brand new OnePlus Nord N30 5G with Android 13, security update from July 5th 2023.
I'm using a Mint Mobile SIM card which is inside the iPhone.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5
Google Pixel Fold
Google Pixel 7, 7 Pro, 7a
Nothing Phone (2)
Motorola razr+ 2023

Steps to successfully transfer your WhatsApp chats from iPhone to Android:
1) Make sure you have the latest OS available on both devices.
2) Make sure you have the latest WhatsApp version on your iPhone.
3) Do a new WhatsApp backup.
4) Fully charge both phones.
5) On the Android do a backup if you have data, and then factory restore the device.
6) Setup your Android phone and find the "Copy apps & data" screen.
7) Connect both devices using a Lighthing to USB-C cable.
8) On the Android sign in to your Google account.
9) Choose what to copy from the iPhone, make sure you select WhatsApp and Contacts.
10) With the iPhone scan de QR code you will see on the Android device.
11) Follow the steps on the "Move Chats to Android" screen.
12) On your "Copying your data" screen please reconnect the cable.
13) Turn off iMessages.
14) Open and configure WhatsApp on the new Android device.
15) Request and enter the "Verification code" on your new Android device.
16) Look for the "Import complete" message on your Android device.
17) Configure your WhatsApp and do a Google Drive backup.
18) Move your SIM card from the iPhone to the new Android device.
19) Subscribe to @SuAmigoAlex (My CZcams channel) to get the latest Smartphone videos.

I was too hasty when I first set up my new phone and the factory reset and re-do all the steps sorted out the issues. Also, I agree that the Importing Chat History came too late.

Switching from Ip11 to Honor x9b and it worked like a charm! Thank you Alex! Just a bit hassle tho bcs both phones is charged to 100%.. end up my Honor phone is charging my Ip11.. for me it took 3hours+ for backup.

Good morning ALEX, I've already tried with my Note 13 Pro about 10 times and when it finishes what comes from the zap and only about four groups without any media, the contacts come but the files,,,no...my original phone is an iPhone 6s...for a note 13 pro

After resetting my IQOO neo 7 pro… i clicked copy data it asked me to connect the device. After connected to cable , then the iphone controls the android and not android control the iphone. It says unable to switch in controlled device.

It just gives me option to transfer photos thts the pop up I get on my iPhone not the trust one and then the gallery open on my android I'm so confused

Good question, I think there is an option to login to iCloud and get the info from there, I need to try it out.

How come I can't see the Apps on the list on my Android device, like it shows on yours? I'm on Android 13. I can't copy anything from Whatsapp if it doesn't show me the App..

Hello Alex. This is a great tutorial ! Thank you ! Just one question, please: I have Samsung 24 ultra and when I get to the copy apps & data, my phone is activating Smart Switch and at the end of the copy & install process (even whatever is running in the background) - none of my chats is copied from my iPhone. I have an empty WhatsApp with only GROUPS chats HEADRES in it. Any ideas why? Both phones have latest updates OS
Make sure your iCloud has a recent copy of WhatsApp and that you have enough storage on iCloud

In your video there is NO mention of Smart Switch but on MY phone - for some reason - the process is starting Smart Switch. Any ideas how to go around it so the process is like in your video?

Hi, yes it should work on the Motorola as long as you have Android 12 and later.

hi, I am transforming from iPhone xs to nothing phone 2 but sadly it didn't show the apps option when I was choosing the copy options... its been a week and I tried multiple ways but it didn't work... ;/ do you have any recommendations?
How many gigs is your WhatsApp backup? How much storage do you have on iCloud?
i already did in my samsung s23. but when it comes to importing chat process always stop at 92% and always starting to initialize and break the import process.

Reset the phone first. After it turn on connect it immediately. Dont connect the cable after the instruction given. Just connect the cable from the beginning and you should be good. If it doesn’t work. Try agin and again

How big is your WA backup? How many gigs of storage do you have on iCloud?

Do not encrypt the WhatsApp backup, that should do it. Also you need Android 12 or later
But why we need to do iCloud back, we are getting chat history with cable?
You need a recent iCloud backup to have the latest chats on WhatsApp
IMPORTANT NOTE :first you can't see the apps but they are slowly appear one by one just be patient wait least 5 min

ive done the transfer, but in the end . after all the preparing and importing chat history was done. upon reaching 80% it said failed to import and skip importt pop out. this happened twice
How many GIGs is your WA Backup? How many GIGs of iCloud Storage do you have?

I tried several times and following your steps (from deleting old chats, pictures, videos, factory reset android to transferring the data) it somehow stopped import chat at 94% and Immediately I have to fill my profile name. Then showing no history chat at all, only group I have added to with no chat. Its getting frustrating 😩

@@SuAmigoAlex whatsapp backup is 2.1gb while iCloud I subscribed family plan of 2TB, the phone itself use 12.1gb
Why do you need to restore factory setting for this?
If you don't want to factory restore your device, you can buy a paid software to do the transfer.
I did evertyhing the same but doesn't work for me. I have 20 gb whatsapp data and don't want to lose any of it. At the last minutes of importing the chat, it stuck on %86 and that's it. 5 times , same result. Do you have any solution to this matter? Please help..

You need to do a fresh WhatsApp backup on iCloud first (to save your latest chats) if your WhatsApp backup is more that 5GB and you only have 5GB on iCloud, then it won't work, or it might work but only with some old chats. My advice pay $1 a month for the 50GB iCloud option.
