the NYT, WP and above all, Daniel Ellsberg needed to be thanked AGAIN for their exceptionalism to expose the lies of LBJ, McNamara, Nixon, Westmoreland & Co.!

The politicians have morphed much in the past decades to eliminate the need for exceptional journalism to expose their lies - the Bush, Trump do it openly and pretend that's their right

Poor Edward Snowden. Imagine a great mind and one of the USA's brightest people sitting in Russia and willing to help with this ransomware problem, if asked. Now is the time for some humility and acceptance by the government. He should be put in charge of Internet security in the USA. He does not deserve to have a court case against him. Most Americans don't even know what I'm talking about. That's a tragedy.

Snowden’s case is not analogous to Ellsberg’s. Ellsberg made several attempts to inform Congress of the McNamara study and was rebuffed. Ellsberg was an assistant to John McNaughton in the Pentagon, who had authorized access to the study. Snowden was a spook at NSA who was specifically sworn not to reveal secret compartmented intelligence information and did it any way. What Snowden did amounted to espionage. Not so with Ellsberg. Ellsberg also remained in the United States and faced justice, though the charges were dropped due to DOJ malfeasance. I would stand up for Snowden if he had followed Ellsberg, but he didn’t, and he defected to Russia, of all places!

Wow .. dammit, so when my father was dying of CANCER along with 3 other people in his department at p&g , my uncle had just started to date a Nixon. I was only 7 yrs old. So previously a Nixon married into the Cox family ?!
1971 is 2 years before black people were being run out of Norwood.

Just makes me sad to realize that the courage Ellsburg, the Times and the Post had no longer exists in journalism. I was waiting through this whole segment for any mention of Snowden, but MSNBC is not courageous enough.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
    Robert Frost. Rest In peace.

«The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which GOD gave unto Him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Who bare record of the word of GOD, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw.
Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.»
