  • Joey Jordison, Chris Fehn, Craig Jones, and more recently Jay Weinberg were all members of Slipknot that seem to have been ejected from the band under mysterious or at least by non-amicable means. In other words, the reasons for their departures seem to have been brushed under the carpet by Slipknot, or there’s been an attempt to conceal the truth.

It’s gotten to the point where Slipknot fans have even started to lose trust in the band and seemingly doubt that Slipknot’s intentions have ever been honourable. And all fingers seem to point to this man, Shawn Crahan, otherwise known as Clown in the world of Slipknot.

    • @alissafioravanti832
      @alissafioravanti832 Před 4 měsíci

@@RAWMUSICTVActually it’s much more likely that the reason why Japan exclusively got the track all out life is due to the cost of CD’s being more expensive in Japan. Because of the price increase it’s common for Japan to get an extra track. Many famous examples of this are Muse’s Absolution and Black Holes and revelations, Dio’s killing the dragon, most if not all albums by Stratovarius, Hardline double eclipse, so on and so forth. I’m pretty sure other Slipknot albums feature Japan exclusive tracks.

There are things that are personal, cause the end of the day, they are human beings, and sometimes they don’t get along too well. RIP Joey and Paul and honestly, best of luck to Slipknot, as a fan, I will always be excited to see what’s next for this band, while The End So Far wasn’t as great as .5 and We Are Not Your Kind, they are still super solid efforts, that can stand on it’s own just like first 4 albums, hell I could say that In my opinion I prefer 3 last albums over All Hope Is Gone easily.

I see some people are clearly sucking off Clown and Taylor, Joey WAS fired. Not only was he a founding member but if he didn't leave the band of his own free will, that's what we call being fired. They never bothered to understand what was going on with his health, especially the illness that affected his ability to drum nor gave him time to recover. They used him up and tossed him away, firing him by email. They even promised to return his shit after they fired him but they never did and they kept all his equipment and such and never returned his things. Okay regarding Clown saying Joey is not a founding member of the band he may be pointing to when slipknot wasn't even slipknot it was painface. Clown actually was the main drummer around 1992 until layer they added Joey because he was respected thrash metal drummer in the scene. But it was actually Joey who wanted to call the band slipknot after their song slipknot. For him to say that Joey isn't a founding member I think he has unresolved feelings from being the main drummer to an extra one, this would also explain why he didn't like jay either. Since the beginning Clown has been trying to make it seem like he's the most important in the band when really in all honesty he's not.

Very sad. I remember back in the days of 2005-6 or so and being impressed that the band was still all together and firing on all cylinders after so much time. Despite the newer side projects at the time, the members all seemed happy at the time and the fact that they were still a 9 piece was impressive. Ah, well.

So much to say about this.
Slipknot’s debut album hit like a freight train!
Disasterpiece live in London 2002 is iconic.
Their music started to lose its sharp edge after AHIG.
Paul’s death really knocked them on their heads. Joey was never the same after that and I would argue the entire band wasn’t the same overall after Paul died.
The press conference they had after Paul’s death was sobering/telling.
I think Jim Root and Mick Thomson are the legs of Slipknot and without them it goes nowhere after the debut album.
I think at its peak, Slipknot had full control of the game, but they were trapped in a bad contract that created huge issues/stress/aggravation.
I’m sure there were talks of breaking up all throughout the bands tenure.
Slipknot stuck around for a long, long time.
They were at it before the new millennium arrived, and they kept at it for a LONG time.
Too bad what’s happened with so many original members.
Thank you to Joey, Paul, Chris Fehn, Craig, and Jay for their huge contributions in carrying the flag of Slipknot.
Because of this band, heavy metal maintained a place in the music industry when top-40 was smothering everything out.
Slipknot may not be finished yet, but they’re limping along and I hope we see them return.

I am so over the Slipknot Drama! I think Clown has a higher stake in the band these days. It seems like he makes all the calls anymore. This band has been going to shit since Paul’s death! He was the glue that held these guys together.

As a huge Slipknot fan, this makes me so sad. Honestly we don’t know what happened behind the scenes, all we can do is speculate with the information we have which isn’t much. I will always love Slipknot for their music they have made over the years, but the handling of their “departures” and firings has honestly left a bad taste in my mouth.

2009 was the last good year for slipknot. I think if the same goes down for mick or Jim they are done for good

I've been a fan since I saw Slipknot play Ozzfest in 2000. Fast forward to 2024 and it's funny how half of Corey Taylor's solo performances consist of playing Slipknot music, yet nobody else in the band is allowed to profit from a side business that includes anything related to Slipknot. I'm fairly positive the reason he canceled his recent tour in America is because nobody likes his solo material and he wasn't selling tickets. By "wasn't selling tickets" I'm saying he wasn't selling out arenas like he expected to. Corey Taylor and Sean Crahan are nobody without Slipknot. I'm fairly positive Jay was fired so he could be replaced with Sean's son. If that's the case I'm definitely done with this band. Their new material sucks and I'm unwilling so support narcissists.

I’m not defending clown but I remember seeing that the OG’s decided to let jay go that it was a group decision, probably something deeper happened, doubt they just let him go for no reason

I've had a gut feeling that my favorite band was on a slow downhill spiral since Joey "left" the band. It seems like that spiral has been speeding up since 2020. I hope they pull through regardless but it doesn't seem likely at this point. Bummer man...

I understand having critique of the band for switching members, however the vast majority of departures sound like there was actual reasons behind them. Joey, while being an amazing drummer and a huge part of their sound, also sounds like he had many issues he was not able to keep under control while being with them. They went pretty hard no substance abuse after Pauls death and reports are that he was still on some. Chris had his spat about money, which whos right? Whos wrong? No one will ever know without seeing the contracts they all had. Craig seemingly left the band on his own accord. And finally theres Jay. This one seemed so weird at first. But in light of a lot of information thats come out about him as a person, some things make sense. First off, he likely even got the chance because of his father (nepotism). If you look at the bands he played for previous the Slipknot, he was actually kicked out with the members calling him out for being impossible to work with and being a diva. Sounds like character issues to me. After having Jay be their drummer for 10 years, perhaps they also got sick of his behavior. Theres also reports from the sound crew that HE couldnt even keep up love properly. Combine all these issues, is it really a surprise they'd look somewhere else?

shit started going downhill after ahig, pretty ironic name. They started doing a lot more marketing like knotfest, more interviews, plus the shit with Chris, it was the start of slipknot becoming more of a brand rather than a band. that continued into wanyk, with knotfest at sea, and now a fucking Minecraft server for fuck sake. They've lost their roots and become what they despised to be when they first started.

I stopped caring a long time ago when they kicked out Joey, a huge inspiration for me since the first album. When I heard they recently kicked out Jay who was also a beast, I realized there's something very wrong with the band. Someone in one comment section somewhere said that Corey intends to bring in his son on vocals eventually and Shawn his son on drums to carry on the band and I don't think that is that farfetched.
