I am also grateful for Ada being ungrateful for Craig, perfect comedic timing at such a young age. We all know who she got that from.
China?
@@successmeditations110 China.
No, from Craig's parents.
A dislike of bedtime?
That bit was the best yes.
I felt happier just watching you talk about the things you’re grateful about
I've done this every morning for several years. Best way to concentrate on the good... Even on hard days, I can at least be grateful for a comfy bed and a cozy house. Told my best friend about gratitude journaling and she said it's been amazing for her, too.
I think the difficult days, the ones that I don't want to write my list of ten, those are the days I feel best after having done it. I'm glad other people do this and find it beneficial :) plus, any excuse to buy a pretty journal gets me on board haha
I actually taught a class on this. The longer you journal, the more detailed you become. I do 3 things I’m grateful for every day for 90 days & it changes my perspective, kind of a reset.
I don’t use a “special†journal, just a regular notebook. It’s important not to repeat anything. That’s how you get down to the minutiae. I’m grateful for my husband. Next day it could be I’m grateful my husband takes my car to the car wash. You really have to dig deep to find 3 things for 90 days.
The 90 days is a long time, but it’s not forever. There’s an end date.
I dont know if I buy that it works though. I just dont see it working for me.
@@meganpitt It's not a magic solution to all problems, but it really does help a lot! It basically just trains your brain to get into the habit of looking for nice things. Even on the days where your list is just stuff like "I'm grateful traffic wasn't so bad this morning" or "I'm grateful the line at Dunkin wasn't too long," it really helps pull you out of your own head to focus on what's around you (which is a struggle for people with depression and anxiety, which is why it's such a useful exercise).
@@meganpitt Have you ever been car shopping or wanted a specific car and you start noticing that car everywhere? It's kind of the same thing. When you practice gratitude, you'll start to notice more things to be grateful for.
@@hillwalk24 I think it works for some people, myself included. Some people can’t connect to manifestation. I love playing the Manifestation Game. I think of a friend & see how long it takes them to call me. Usually 2-3 days. The universe favors patience. Not a fan of patience.

As someone who spent my first 29 years of my life in southern California and then moved to Virginia, yes, I completely took the weather for granted. However, I have a natural grateful streak and did find plenty for which to be thankful there. I journal daily and have occasionally had a routine in which I write something I'm grateful for every day. I make a long list every Thanksgiving too, often in ABC format. That is, 26 things for which I'm grateful, written in alphabetical order. And I read them all, quickly, when my family goes around the dinner table sharing our gratitude. â¤
That sounds like something an elementary teacher would assign to there students, it's great lol
I lived in SoCal for years and, yes, the weather was so perfect all the time that I hardly ever noticed. The weather here in Maryland (I'm sure it's similar to Virginia) is way more sporadic, and I've only really experienced a handful of days that are those perfect California days. Really makes me miss it.

This video will probably be passed over by far too many who could really use it. I’m very grateful it was made so I could add to my journal. â¤ï¸
See that is why I am sharing this to my family. They already know I'm a hardcore beardlover (and possibly sick of me talking about Wheezy all the time) but I'm grateful they tolerate me.
I'm grateful for my dad, even though he's dead. I got a tattoo in his honor, he wasn't really a fan of tattoos, so I put it on my foot, so I can easily hide it, easily show it, and remember him.
My dad is at the top of my list too, and he chose the song 'be thankful for what you got" for his funeral. Do you mind if I ask what the tattoo is of? It's a beautiful way to remember someone.
@@maggiescarlet music notes that spell dad.
When I turned 40, I decided to start writing in a journal. I'm 48 now and it's still sitting shrink-wrapped on my bedside table. Maybe I'll try this. Thanks, Life Coach Craig.
Ever since I saw Kurzgezarts video I have a reminder on my phone that notifies me at 8pm called “gratitudeâ€: when I see it I must think / list three things (at least) that I’m grateful for that day

I'm pretty grateful for this channel, i look forward to it always
i just wanted to thank you because i watched this video on a break from an overwhelming load of homework at college and i felt trapped under a mountain of work and overwhelming emotion. i finished most of my work, went to sleep, and woke up this morning and was able to take five minutes and this about what i’m grateful for, take a shower, and i felt like putting on moisturizer and spf, and as i looked in the mirror, i thought ‘i cant wait to wake up and do this again tomorrow.†i haven’t been excited to wake up for years. i was diagnosed with a minor depressive disorder last year and it’s been plaguing my life for a lot longer than that. i feel so much hope right now, i cant stop crying. i haven’t been able to cry for months. thank you for prompting me to think positively.
I’m grateful for Sandhill Cranes too. They’re so cool! We frequently had them hanging around in our yard when we lived in Florida, and every time I heard their call I’d think, “Yep, that’s a dinosaur.â€
Also I’m always the parent that my seven year old isn’t grateful for, so I feel for ya Craig. Aren’t children just the sweetest?
your videos always feel so laid back, relaxing and comforting. It's such a joy to see you upload!
I’m grateful this video popped up just as I was taking a quick break from work … 16 min video sounds like a good way to spend my break! Thank you for making this video 16 mins I am grateful for that too!
I like to ask people what the best part of their day was (in the afternoon or evening, never in the morning). If you do it often enough, people start to notice the best part of their day as it happens. It's a great way to change how people think for the better, plus if you start a conversation with it, the whole conversation is more positive - even if you talk about more negative things later
I'm grateful for clicking this video and reminding me to be grateful
It now sounds like some sect.
Whoa. I was literally just wondering how the heck I could make myself do some g-dang gratitude journaling!
Do it. The universe (or whatever you call it), is sending a hint.
As a native Southern Californian, I can say that I do feel grateful for how beautiful it is
My 4 year old watched this with me and now she is not grateful for me, so I guess I’m grateful to you for that? 😂
Love it.
Another great video! I try to write down ten things I'm grateful for every morning, it's time for me to sit and relax and reflect, and it puts me in a better mood after. I appreciate that some of the things you said made my list, I'm often grateful for clean, easily accessible water, access to healthcare, living in a climate controlled house and more. I think it helps me to not take things for granted that are so basic in our lives, and yet a large percentage of people on this planet do not have access to them. Clean drinking water, something no one should ever take for granted.
I keep a daily gratitude list but I loved watching your ideas of things to be grateful for. You've got a very creative perspective on life and I feel inspired to look for more creative things to be grateful for.
Your buddie being so happy at you saying how grateful you are for him was SO heartwarming and reminded me that we need to tell the ones we love how much we appreciate them while they're here :) great video!
Alcoholic in recovery here, going to buy that journal thank you Craig you're the best â¤ï¸
Whenever I've done this in the past, I've always found it easiest to do it first thing in the morning, whether I think about the day before or just write down what I'm thankful for in general. I find it a good way to start the day and helps me keep more positive throughout the day.
Your videos are something for which I'm thankful, as they always bring a bit of laughter to my days. 🙂
That white puzzle - wow!! My mom used to do puzzles, but I have a feeling she wouldn't even make an effort at that one. Wowzers!! But what a creative puzzle in its way, really. :D
Oh, The Orville!! Great show. I miss it. I don't have access to the streaming platform here in Canada that airs it. *sigh!!*
Love those pointy trees that I won't tell you the name of. I like when a crow, or similarly big-ishly flying bird perches on the tip, and says "you are going to be horizontal until I say you can be vertical again". I like seeing them in a row swaying in the breeze, looking like wizards in the mosh pit for a super mellow band, when someone has strung lights on them, it's like they are holding their lighters up, and not cell phones like the good ol' hippies you know they are.
Far and away the channel that makes me feel the most motivated to work on self improvement. I’m gonna go for a walk right now! 😄
I'm grateful to Craig for making a video about being grateful, which makes me more grateful to Craig for making a video about being grateful.
I feel like it's easier to be grateful when things are good.
My mom is sick. It's cancer, and the last year and a half were really hard. Now some symptoms appeared that the doctors are not sure why, and I'm terrified. I find it really hard to be thankful at the moment.
My sister passed from cancer in June. I was grateful for the support from others. Grateful that I got to be her caregiver during her last days. That was not planned at all. I got to be in sunny southern CA while being her caregiver. Grateful for the wonderful medical team.
This is for sure a hard time for you.
My sisters neighbor who I just met while in CA said that she ( the neighbor) felt honored to be her fathers caregiver during his sickness. I was able to adopt that feeling too, and was grateful for that perspective.
You are not alone. Your mom, I am sure is very thankful for you. â¤ï¸
@@Audrey.17 I'm so sorry for your loss. Thank you, I do have what to be grateful for.
Awe, thank you.
We are all in this together. â¤ï¸
Gratitude doesn't invalidate hardship. Some people use it that way, but that's not right. We can enjoy life and see good in the world but also go through very hard times. I wish you the best and send positive energy your way.☺ï¸

True!
Solo is my favorite Star Wars movie. Took Han Solo from a cocky jerk and made him a true hero from before even meeting Luke. It gave a lot more meaning to his frustration, swagger, and skill in the original trilogy.
I just played the video beginning and almost died laughing.
Craig: "I'll start this at the end of today"
Also Craig: "it's the next day"
Me: how everything doesn't get done BC I've put it off until "later today"
I started a 'one line a day' page in my bullet journal as a new monthly thing. Realised it's basically a gratitude mini journalling page!
Today I'm grateful for you showing me how beautiful the sunshine was in summer!
I kind of naturally do this. I can get really down. When I'm feeling sad and unloved I start telling myself all the good things there are in life. If nothing else my ancestors could only dream of the life I'm living now with hot water on demand, a washing machine, climate control, food at my fingertips at all times, lifesaving medical care etc. Its ok to feel down or depressed, but its also ok to be grateful. Gives you perspective, ya know?
My wife is from Chicago. She hated geese! I married her and brought her back to Oklahoma with me. We don't see Canadian Geese very often here. She found herself to be thankful for when she does see them, and now she enjoys them.
I loooove this one!!! I think if everyone did this, the world would be a much better place. :) There is so much to be grateful for, if we put our focus there.
I'm grateful for you enjoying "Solo"! I thought it was way more pulp action fun then it given credit for. Also grateful for this video you made because yesterday I thinking of getting a Gratitude journal and then BAM! Your video was randomly on my feed! So really I'm grateful for you psychically influencing me!
I hate that everyone takes for granted that this exercise 100% works for everyone. I'm so glad that it mostly does, but I had to do it every day for a semester several years ago and it greatly exacerbated my depression.
I'm grateful for you, Craig. Thanks for always making me feel better when I have a crappy day.
I'm grateful that you reminded me about practicing gratitude on the daily. Thanks Craig 😊ðŸ‘💖
Honestly, these were some really beautiful things to be grateful for. Made me think about how much of those I take for granted or was too cynical to even notice
That story about Ada and the bunny was so cute 💖
I love this journal and writing out what I am grateful for has had a huge impact on me. :D
I'm grateful for my dad, my friends, and that i have an intense need to make animated shorts all the time
Loved the dramatic effect of pretending to walk away! Lol
Aaahw your parents dancing was absolutely adorable.
I've done gratitude journaling on and off for nearly a decade. Like anything else, if you stop you can always go back if you find it helpful
My fave video of yours by far. I am grateful for you!
We’re grateful for you, Craig!
I'm grateful you made this video about gratitude.
I am grateful for you Wheezy ☺
I’ve got a little gratitude journal (just a plain notebook) that I try to list a few a few things in each morning when I have breakfast. I’ve actually got out of the habit of it so this is a great reminder. It’s a nice positive way to start the day and helps me avoid my phone
I liked Solo too. It's not the Star Wars movie we wanted, but it's the Star Wars movie I saw that day.
I love this channel! Love you and your family Craig! I’m 24 now, I’ve been watching you about 2-3 years now. I recently got my mom hooked to your channel. Favorite thing, the comedy.
I am grateful I get all the nutrition I need through my food and don't have to take supplements. I'm also grateful that I am debt free and have an abundant supply of money along with perfect health. Yeah, I'm a pretty happy camper.
I'm grateful for your humour 😌ðŸ™
Pointy trees! Like in a VanGogh painting. :)
Thirteen lives is SO awesome! The fact that it's based on true life events, and those kids actually survived being in that cave, and those dudes actually got them out the way they did. The whole thing is a freaking miracle. Such a great film.
I am not fully in the habit yet, but after watching this I decided to give it a try. Something I never expected - I look forward to doing it. Normally the only thing I look forward to is sleeping.

Greg ! I'm grateful for him. He's a person that I think I'd like for a neighbor.
I am grateful for your content Craig!
2 things...Iwas watching this while getting ready for a Farmer's Market tomorrow morning....and....I thought Solo was good. I appreciate you!
I'm grateful for your videos and your newsletter, which made me want to watch Better Call Saul. I loved it! Now I'm watching Breaking Bad since I only saw the first two seasons a decade ago. Thanks for recommending cool things to look at.
Nice! I didn't see the journal linked but will go back and try and search for it online.
"pointy trees" - Wait. Am I watching Wheezy Waiter or Crime Pays, but Botany Doesn't?
And Craig, I'm grateful for you and all my other CZcamsrs who are going to be keeping me company while I quarantine.
Kudos was so freakin good! Someone please bring it back 😩
I'm grateful you mentioned FutureCrunch because I signed up for it and I'm looking forward to getting regular happy news!
My favorite dumb episodic television series is Wee Bare Bears. Fun characters, catchy theme song, ordinary day, utter chaos ensues, then they fix it in, like, 20 minutes, and there's reoccurring side characters. Everything I need in a silly show. I also love Phineas and Ferb. The Orville is a fun one, too.
I´m grateful for this chanell, because it helps me to practice my english 🙂
Happy to see a new video from you. Yey!!
I freaking LOVE Fresh figs!!! I'm 60 years old and i had my FIRST fresh fig 8 years ago and I wish I could have enough of them to say it was a life-changer but they are EXPENSIVE around here!
6:08 grateful for the knee toning tips you included!
I'm grateful for Wheezy
I’m grateful for you. Keep being Awesome. … those were cypress trees. They were used to warn of death during the plague. Finding beauty in death is the ultimate gratitude.

I think those trees are a kind of Cypress tree, I'm grateful that I had that knowledge to share 😊
Grateful for humorous and informative videos! Thank you! Would you share the journal you used? I'd love a journal with prompts. Thanks!

Cypress trees and a western fence lizard! Sometimes called blue bellies, they help get rid of Lyme disease! 4th gen Californian a year and a half into living on the East Coast, I miss So.Cal every damn day. *cues Joni Mitchell’s ‘California’
I'm grateful that the little "Young Albus Dumbledore" cardboard figure I got from a supermarket give away looks like you Craig! Now you ride around in my campervan next to Snape, Luna, Serious, Ron, and Harry cardboard figures PLUS my Hank & John Green bobbleheads - this crazy collection makes me smile sooooo BIG!
Geese blocking the road is still so comical
This actually made me feel better as well
I’m definitely an advocate of gratitude journaling although the one hurdle that I have is that after 18+ months I do find I’m repeating myself a lot and I’m not sure if that’s how you’re supposed to do it. The thing is, a lot of my days are very similar, particularly when I work from home (and I live alone), and I’m ok with that but it’s challenging coming up with new things to be grateful about each day
There are several websites and apps that broadcast only 'good news.' Google 'good news websites'. And they change the news daily. Look at those apps and websites for good news from Around The World. And you will have something new to be grateful for every single day that's different, so you don't run out of things.
Kudos!!!! I miss them.
I am grateful for this video!
Bought one and I'm going to do it, thanks!
I like the Solo movie too. :) Great video!

I want to know more about this movie project. Not because I want to see your head debodied, but because you care about it enough to share it, and I like spooky horror stuff
Quit wheat due to headaches. Headaches mostly went away. Don't feel chubby even though I seem to have gained weight immediately after quitting wheat. Better mood. More stable.
