  • Our back porch is a wonderful private sanctuary where all the family love to spend time and enjoy nature. It is one of my favorite spots to read a book in the morning and spend some time with birds and quiet plants. Enjoy this tour!

    Olga, CZcams sent you to me a week or so ago and I want to say that each of the 6-8 videos I have watched so far has been an absolutely delightful, informative, and motivating visit with you! I find myself smiling as I watch, and who doesn't need more smiling in their lives. So thank you, thank you, thank you!! 🥰

      Thank you, I am already missing my garden of blooms. Those sedums totally surprised me, never thought that I can fertilize them in pots.

    Love your back porch, relaxing with the birds chirping and beautiful flowers. Thnx for the helpful hints of fertilizing the Autumn joy Sedum, I have a couple of them but I don’t fertilize them, they’re not as healthy as yours.

      Thank you Barbara! Yes, I never fertilized my potted sedums thinking they will flop from all that excessive growth. This year I gave them extra food and looks like they developed sturdy stems and are growing strong!

    I love the white marigolds. Where did you get your seeds?

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  Před 2 lety +1

      I got them at Burpee.com. I think they are sold out for this season.

    Oh my just love your beautiful garden. Do you fertilize your autumn sedum joys? They look amazing. Mine always look sick. Not sure if it’s due to insect infestation.

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  Před 2 lety

      I do, never thought that sedums need fertilizers, but one year I did it and saw beautiful results. I don't fertilize sedums in the garden, just pots.

    Dear Olga, great video again. May I ask for more information. The big shrub: You say Japanese Hall? Is that right? Is this shrub green in winter aswell? Can it stand snow? I am looking for something like that shrub for my garden. Looks very good.

    • @OlgaCarmody
      @OlgaCarmody  Před 2 lety

      Yes, Japanese Hollies are wonderful additions to our ga4dens. They are evergreen, sturdy and dependable. Not finicky about poor soils. Love sun. the only thing agains them would be somewhat slow growing nature. They stand up to snow just right, very sturdy.

    I’m very impressed with your marigolds. This year I planted six of exactly the same variety around the edge of a small bed in hopes of deterring deer and they’ve grown splendidly. It’s the first time I’ve planted this variety and I’ve grown to love the color and the frilliness of the flowers. You’ve inspired me to plant some in pots for my deck next year. They are absolutely gorgeous on your deck.
    I noticed the structure holding up the honeysuckle. I’ve watched your wattle video so I suspect you built the arbor too. Could you do a closeup sometime? Thanks for a great video. Kathy in Pennsylvania

      Hi Kathy,
      Thank you for your sweet message! Yes, those snowball marigolds are quite impressive. I think they match my yellow house pretty well. As for the structure. It attracted attention from folks and I totally forgot to mention it in my wattle post. I will do a video on that corner soon. Be well and happy gardening in beautiful Pennsylvania!

      In my country south africa marigolds are very easy planting flowers and luckily so as they are used commonly for hindu religious festivals. Very plentiful
