- On September 30, 2016 Ryan Hayashi attended a Teaching Strategies Workshop held at the University of Mannheim in Germany by the TELC (The European Language Certificates). It was an international event with language experts from several countries. One of the attendees asked Ryan Hayashi how many languages he speaks. This was his answer.

I am from China and I have been living in Australia for over 11 years. I am very fluent with Cantonese, Mandarin, and also good with English, a bit of Spanish, and different sorts programming languages as I am a seasoned software developer 😁

Danish was definitely the worst. Sounded like German. Otherwise, big props. There are languages that I could do in 30 second spurts that I wouldn't be able to converse in for even 5 minutes.
i am also a language expert and that despite the fact that i never wanted to be one. And as language expert i will say this: we need one universal language that all humans can speak so that we can exchange information easily with everyone without pesky language barriers
