  • For this Downstream family special, Ash is joined by Moya and Michael - contributing editors at Novara Media - to discuss their lives as journalists, the scandal surrounding Nick Cohen, the combustion of Vice and gal-dem and why Novara is uniquely placed to take on the mainstream media in the UK.

I’ve been behind you guys for a few years now and been supporting with a small donation every month for a year now. Really love the content you produce and all of your personalities. I look forward to the next few years of seeing you grow and I hope you become the next major news source for the youth of the U.K. and help the country out of the ‘state’ it’s got into.

  • @johnmackenzie4703

I’d love to see more episodes of downstream like this where it’s just a group of more than two of you guys since talking about something. We usually only see you interacting in pairs, so this changes the dynamic a little and makes for a very good conversation.

The Guardian still haven't explained the absence of Nick Cohen and they didn't make a big deal about the Forde report which basically proved Corbyn right about A/S in the LP being over exaggerated .

Thank you so much for continuing to expose the truth.

My 13 year old daughter looks up to ash and I’m so proud she does. Keep up the great work.

Ash's comments about being a guest on bbc whose constantly referred to as an activist and having to shut that down really does show how deep in their own bubble the bbc and rest of british mainstream is

  • @princeofchetarria5375

Honestly think you guys are one of if not the best things to happen to British media in my lifetime. Proud to support and donate, keep up the good work and hopefully it will lead to some real long term change in this country!

Im.glad i found Novara some time ago. As an oldie i find it great that you youngsters are involved in politics and i support you monthly with a small donation. Which it could be more. As the Guardian has gone downhill, its saved my sanity to watch your output. Keep up the good work.

I love Novara, and am really happy to contribute monthly. It's funny to me that Tysky Sour wasn't originally considered a full part of Novara though, as that was my first introduction and still really the only way I engage (I work full time from home, have two kids and am trying to start a 9 acre permaculture system, so I don't have much time to read news). For ages I thought that Michael Walker was Novara media tbh. I love that you're now daily, as it allows you to comment on political events in real time more. One thing I would say is that although you're politically radical, you have very clear branding, which I think really helps you stand out in the fractured media landscape. But the quality of your analysis is what keeps bringing me back.

  • @Bearded.Nobody

Since discovering you guys, this channel really feels like one of the only safe harbours left in the media. Behind you guys all the way!

  • @lkhvw2042

I really appreciate when Ash hosts. She gives people the space to talk and its evident she really listens to them and reacts to what they're saying. These characteristics are devoid in mainstream shows.

  • @sheryla54

I love the style and deep dive content and the 'feeling' of sitting down and chatting with like-minded people every evening. I also love the sense of hope that NM gives me after the failure of the Corbyn project.

  • @b00ts4ndc4ts

Michael is worth every penny and it's great to see Ash & Moya on a Sunday, you made my day.

  • @davidnguyen81

I feel like Novara might be one of the few media organisations that could have a discussion like this where they publicly and openly perform a self-critique. That deserves praise.

  • @franklyevo

Been watching/listening daily now since near the end of Tysky and this chat finally nudged me over the edge to start giving some monthly support. Keep doing what you're doing!

  • @lynnhickinbotham3784

Your doing a great job thank you for standing up and speaking the truth which is more than the mainstream media do

  • @jakewilliams456

In light of Man City winning the treble as of last night, I’d love Novara to do a Downstream focused on how the big money from oil states and oligarchs has led the game to where it is now: riddled with corruption, a complete lack of sporting fairness due to financial disparities, and fanbases that are totally blindsided by the potential for glory. Not sure who’d be best to interview as establishment football punditry are totally complicit, but perhaps the good people of NM would have some idea ?

  • @geeianna7708

Manufacturing Consent by Naom Chomsky first came out in 1979. Required (and depressing) reading now more than ever. Sadly, I realise that the State will not allow progressive politics (see how Corbyn was demonised) and it will never change.

  • @stevenredpath9332

Thanks for this insight into the British media and insights that we don’t get from mainstream media.

  • @davidthorneywork715

I've just started supporting you. Novara Media is the best news channel in the UK and definitely the most credible. Thanks everyone!
