Today we're playing around with some of the new features in the 2.0 firmware for the Polyend Tracker Mini! The BIG feature for me is the internal synth engines, which make the Mini a truly standalone device! Enjoy the stream :)

Polyend is very good at asking and listening to its user base’s requests for improvements.
Personally in the workflow of the mini, the only thing that annoys me is that you can’t record realtime. There are requests in the forum for being able to use the buttons under the screen or any of the other buttons to record live be it with 8 notes in a given scales (if with the under the screen buttons) or at least one note at a time without having to connect an external controller.
Of course the full size Trackers don’t have this issue as they have a grid of note input mini-pads. For the min, the best fit I’ve found so far is the NTS-1 mk2 which would serve as a controller, additional synth/FX engine.
Great idea, I've been using a QuNexus
I use the Korg NanoKey Studio for that purpose and it works quiet well.
Now I want to be able to also record samples while it's playing ;)
To record real time, a solution is to connect a phone to your mini, install a midi keyboard app. The setup is still ultra portable and a good tradeoff, I think.
I haven't actually tried yet, but I've heard the phone MIDI keyboard works well!

I had bought a tracker mini last year, but hardly used it because I didn’t particularly like the way the samples are pitched if i use it with melodic instrument samples. But this weekend I wrote a thing using the synth engines and I really enjoyed the outcome! I also love the game boy type feel and this will be a nice device to make stuff during travels. As a daily use device I will not use it too much because the other devices I have, have very fast workflows compared with this. Currently using the Hapax a lot and I can try an idea for a piece in less than 10 minutes, I can’t beat that with any other device
I could’ve written this exactly...right down to the Hapax bit :) Exactly the same here...and the Mini just didn’t gel with me until the synths were added, the workflow was painful. Now enjoying it
Yeah the synth engines REALLY help the Mini elevate to a whole new level!
I believe the lfo does not have an offset and is missing a sine wave. The menu button is hard to hold down to select an option and should have a one press on and off menu for selecting options.

And am wondering about formatting larger micro sd cards, like 256gb..( I plan on sampling a lot) the 16 gb card that ships with the unit is gonna fill up quick..
I’m on pc and kno you gotta format for FAT32… but when I try to format it… it doesn’t give me the fat 32 option?… I went with a sandisk extreme which is sdxc
Should I go with an ultra uhs 2 instead…. I tend to suck at these type of issues 🤣🤦♂️…any help would be greatly appreciated!… 🙏

Theres lots to like and dislike about the tracker mini and unfortuantly I've spent more time thinking about the ways I wish it was improved than really using it.
I think I dislike the most about the tracker mini is the limited stuff you can do in the song section. If I could mute a track or swap tracks for tracks from different patterns within the song section it could make it a nice device.
I could list other issues but they are, at most, anoyances which I would be prepared to work with and there is plenty to like about the tracker aswell. It's a fast and acccessable tracker with the power to make complete peices of musicnall within a small handheld device. But I just want to take all the bits and peices I've made and, within the song section, have the power to edit it together and arrange it into a complete peice of music. It's just not going for the workflow I want.
What you prefer dirtywave or the mini ?
That's honestly SO hard. They are both in my top 5 grooveboxes for sure. Maybe the Mini now that it has seamless integration with the Tracker Plus? Dang that's a difficult choice lol.
This device is missing a lot of features you would believe would be on it like the ability to use different patches of the synth engine you choose in the 3 available synth slots. You only get the 1 patch sound for the 1 synth slot. In the m8 you can make unlimited variations to all synth engines for unlimited patch sounds or parameter locks. There is no velocity I believe on the mini. There are 2 FX lanes and there are not many options to choose from in it. I believe the PERC engine is limited from it being micro split into 1 voice. I believe you can not adjust filter cutoff and resonance to any of the micro sounds Kick, Snare, Hats. You can not choose the kick drum as a separate source for sidechain. It can only recognize entire Synth slots or track 1-8 and I believe if you put the PERC kick drum on track 1 it will not recognize the sound for sidechaining. This machine has wasted potential for 8 voices of synths to be limited to 3 patch sounds and the m8 should have combined 2 m8's together like a game gear for 16 track song making.

@@deepseadiver8191 Just using it to demonstrate some synths lol. The main reason I started fiddling around with it was I wanted to practice using micro timings to create a triplet feel, complete with being able to use displaced hits. Also, this was just a very casual live stream, so I don't think there's anything wrong with playing something I was working on.
