For your hills, look into the AT1010 Chevron tires from Carlisle. It makes my SCAG Liberty Z 48” feel like it has four wheel drive. Its an amazing difference. Tires were $65 each with free install at walmart for mine. I made an initial video to show the comparison. Turf tires slid on my hill. AT101 don’t!
Fourth season mowing began yesterday. Pulled it off the battery tender, choked and fired right up. Little squeal from the clutch but I think it may have had a little corrosion. Ran at low idle for less than a minute and it all went away.
Trying to decide between this mower and the new John Deere Z7 series mowers. I'm just a part time lawn guy don't need full blown commercial but I don't want crappy residential junk either. Let me know how this mower has held up for you and are you happy with the cut? Is it good in wet grass?
Check out my other mowing videos. The cut quality is fantastic, great in tall, wet grass and has been flawless so far. Other than dirty, runs like a brand new mower.
Good video 👍. My only concern is the engine hp. I have a 21hp kawi on a 52" that is underpowered. When cutting 6" grass down to 3" I have to go 2 mph or slower

The reason Commercial engines have less power output is because they have cut gears instead of plastic. Heavier internal components rob some power but last much longer.
I'm looking at this mower in the 61" deck and the Bobcat XRZ Pro RS in 61". I am really torn. what is your opinion and reason why you chose scag over...say Bobcat
The dealer rep said a few changes were made to the mower recently - wider tires, etc. but I'm not sure if those included the rail or even if they were this year.

RoyalMemorial to blow out the deck I lift the seat and all of the pulleys can be accessed from there. The black covers on the sides can be removed by hand. The belts can be removed the same way. Only the tension spring would require tools for removal.

Hour meter on the Patriot should only be running when the engine is running. This would be something to have your local Scag dealer take a look at.

We just bought a 2018 patriot no turn mower. We love it.

Scan is the best mower you can buy don’t know what you mean scan is the most heavy duty mower

The difference in HP on those engines is due to the Air Filtration system on the Scag...it robs the engine of about a half a HP.
Phillip Hudnall that makes sense. But it would be more that .5hp because the new engine is 40cc larger and still less power.

Check engine & hydro sizes, they may have changed as well, but I'm not sure.
Engine size and hydraulics remained the same.

How do you access the belts? Doesn’t look like with the Patriot you can raise the foot plate like with other zero turn mowers
