During loadsheding there are normally guys who stand in the middle of the roads wearing reflectors who control the traffic. Xhosa is very beautiful language but haai I struggle with clicks too. I normally get very happy when someone randomly speaks Sepedi and do ask them with excitement, engage with them and try to teach them more. Great video Fam ❤

    Hi Deon I hope I spelt your name right. To answer your question most Africans speak at least 2 languages as a minimum so No we are not shocked when a foreign person speaks our language’s because of how normal we see that as. In China they have only 2 languages mandarin & Cantonese with Cantonese only spoken in only one region meaning the majority of Chinese people only speak one language & as a result the concept of seeing a foreigner speak their language is a surprise to them

    • @Mpumelelo_Mahom
      @Mpumelelo_Mahom Před 9 měsíci +5

      Lol if anything it I would probably find it very weird for a South Africa to only know 1 language. Because just from school alone in my area we learnt 2 to 3 languages, even though most of us are tlnot fluent in speaking most languages we surely understand each other when speaking. Because of most south African dramas include a cocktail of south African languages. That's how I actually learnt how to understand lingos from non-neighboring provinces.
      Fun fact: I stay close to the Mozambiquen boarder so the Tsonga spoken this side some mix it with português words/slang. So a Tsonga individual from Bush or Limpopo may not understand certain terms used.
      Also it normal for us to encounter portuguese speakers around our shopping malls and such (around my area).
      PS: LOVE videos they have made me look at South Africa with fresh eyes and have learnt to love and appreciate it more instead of always complaining about the negatives❤

    No, we don't have load shedding every day! That's a lie 😂
    The truth is we can easily still have power for months without any load shedding.
    Load shedding would be announced on the news, radio stations, and so forth when it'll happen and for how long we will be out of power and when will the power be restored without load shedding. And, yes, we do have an app to track down when the load shedding will happen. Of course, it'll notify you an hour before or so. To alert you, there'll be load shedding for 2 hours or 4 hours depending on the stage and how serious is the issue to get more power without having to have load shedding. Lastly, even if we do have electricity and haven't been any announcements about load shedding coming back, but suddenly the power goes out. (DON'T PANIC) It can only mean a nearby fuse blown, which it supplies electricity to your area and nearby areas, meaning it'll be out of power for some time. If the incident happened on a Friday night or morning, the municipality doesn't work on weekends, meaning, whomsoever lives in your area will have to report it so the power be restored. If it happens to be a week or so without a electricity you need to have a backup plan. Perhaps not only nearby areas are out of power. Perhaps even far away places are facing the same issue in which would take a while. So, it is very important to have a backup plan for such things. The solution is to install solar panels / buy an inverter. Then you won't have no worries about waiting for a week + for the power to be restored.
