Kia have come a long way in the past 10 years, this is a very nice car.

+doctormac123 They certainly have. And what we've seen of their forthcoming products shows us they've got plenty of ambition to keep going, too.

my dad has a 2017 optima SW with the 1.7, 247000 miles of which he put about 150000 and still going strong. its a good car, interiors held up well and its a good taxi as theres loads of space everywhere. feels an upgrade from the 2012 renault Laguna 2.0 he used to have too although that was quicker in a straight line. looks good for a kia too

I and my son test drove the estate version with the 1.7 lit diesel engine and GT line model. We could not believe that Kia was so pleasant to drive. If you are looking for a BMW or an Audi state wagon at half the price, this is it. The sound proofing, the suspension and the interior is superb. The steering is not exactly BMW 3 series but not bad either. We liked it very much.

How is the power from setting off generally gaining from up a slip road in a 1.7?

I've got the pro ceed GT myself, can't wait for the Optima GT version coming in September hopefully. Such underrated cars, glad you were surprised in this review!!

I used to have a Pro_Cee'd GT (have a Mustang now) and it was a very impressive car. The Optima GT should be a hoot to drive.

A good unbiased review that was fair and covered the important points. Overall KIA are certainly coming up in the world!

+TestDriven Currently looking for a contender to replace my Dad's Peugeot estate (I am not a fan!) so I'm hoping you have quite a few mid-range estates to review on the horizon. One thing my family requires is room to fit three adults comfortably abreast in the back but most estates always seem to skimp on that middle seat! The Peugeot (307 SW) has that covered with three bucket seats....much to my disgust.
      Love your reviews!

Guy who built this car must have been drunk! He put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car!! 😅
