- A bunch of great friends gathered for some fun, my friend Ari invited for a return to the hunting cabin we lived in at or last motorcycle adventure.
Me and Ari started with our 2023 KTM 890 Adventure in western Sweden to meet up the others 150 Km north of us. With the team assembled we continued Overlanding north at magic trails, gravel roads, tracks the last 360 Km up to Siljansnäs, Dalarna. A beautiful county at the heart os Sweden.
As always a motorcycle adventure is not only riding, it is also the time spent together. This time in a cabin without tap water or electricity. The sauna was welcome at the evenings after the ride up and the local day ride.
I used the rout planner @Stegraio for almost all the riding we did and was surprised how great routes it makes, definitely an improvement over the beta version. The GPX files are easy to transfer to any navigation app or like my Garmin XT Navigator

Thanks for the support guys! I'm honestly very impressed by the routes made in the latest version, easy to share the routes to all buddys in the team. This made us alter the pack leader and all was happy. I will make 3 of the routes shared in the rout planner app Stegra with a description and modified to not disclose the cabin location, now after we have scouted them. Take care!

Makes me wish I lived in Sweden. Love the scenery and all the KTMs. I wish there were a community of riders like that in the Northeast US where I live.
Goodmorning my friend! One thing that i did not cover is how cozy and beautiful the typical wooden villages are in our heartland Dalarna, maybe next time. This had framed it even better, we were rather remote most of the ride but suddenly you just popped up in a village, some planned ofc since when we need to pass rivers there are villages.
When You say it, i feel very privileged with all riding buddys i have in what we could call a community. I have met them over the years in ADV riding events, invitations to group rides etc. this makes me know riders pretty much all over Scandinavia. That i have personally met and been riding with, this long before the event SKOG that i was a large part of creating. This is something to not take as granted, thanks for pointing on this. I truly appreciate all the riders i have met and all that still are close friends. Many of them are a part of my experiences, learning curve and so much fun memories that definitely are the most valued aside my family.
Events and gatherings are the best way to grow a community and friends for life. Happy Trails, i raise my morning coffee ☕️🤌🏻💪🤠🔥

From a trips like these it is the cabin life and friendship that lasts in the memories, the epic feeling of riding is ofc whats gather us and are the fun stuff. I wish i would be out there again!

Thanks Tjommi! When i think of it i tend to have a positive attitude, that helps me and others. But for sure, i have my struggles as everyone to get the everyday living puzzle to get balanced.
Advriders is like a family, we tend to have insane fun together. Ari is a friend since many years and is very caring for others, he just knows when i need an ride/escape the most. He has it inside as well and we tend to cope and timing this really great. The other guys is a mix of friends met at SKOG and as well colleagues to Ari at Bike. Great team on this ride and you get to learn people closer than on the large events.
The guys was very understanding with the filming part, which made it somewhat easier to cover some of the riding, which i think all is happy with afterwards. Sometimes i lead the team on the trail and sometime i was like sweeper or mid group positioned, that helped as well. If i wanted to stop i just did, all had Cardo intercom and the route tracks in the navigators. This ensured some covering, but as You know alot of really epic parts of 1000Km gravel/trails did not get covered. But these part are in our memories and smiles Tjommi, ofc something that could bugger the one who has the cam role... I had no Gopro with me so only handheld footage, this is actually more fun but you miss some spontane happenings. A bummer that i forgot the external mics, the DJI Wireless actually fits perfect in the Mosko Chest Rig, i need to improve here with this nice opportunity to carry the kit.

It is actually alot more than the spring flood, this due to extreme rain. It's still raining so the situation is even worse now. Love that little thermos, just the amount i want on a day trip. Happy trails!

Excellent vid Matias. Good music tracks too. Man, a lot of water. Couple of my friends have ran into issues in the mountains due to rock and mud slides. Several roads closed. We heard of this last week or so all the constant rains. Seems the kayaker's and canoer's are up on the river banks high and dry. Dangerous places. Never take a chance with big water. It will take you away for good. Some great comradery' with the fellow motorcyclists. Man that was quite meal the first night. Glad you showed the luggage setup for the bikes. Lot of Mosco Moto, GL and the Kriega bag set up looked good to me. Liking the Stegra app setup. TS has given some good info as well as Robert. Imagine he is in the Dark Continent by now. Tusen tack Sam! These waterflows are massive and the raining continues, a lot of infrastructure damages and as well on properties. This added more exitement on our trip, because we did not know where or if we could pass flooded parts. The gravelroads was eroded by massive flows, since the declining parts acts as waterfalls, we needed to read the trails fast to change track if needed. We had good speed so that was exiting and the suspension had to work. Gear is always interesting, so i thought that could be of interest for some to see the different set up's. @@Braapncamp I have new BMW R9T Urban GS. Still waiting on paperwork. However very busy with my farm/orchard. Summer is coming to close in a few weeks. Always enjoy autumn in the mouintains. Safe rides my Nordic ADV friend.
@@samhill3496 Aahh, thats a cool bike. Like a scrambler and looks really great as well. Would have loved to have one in the garage. Had a 1200 GSA before and appreciated the bike. Cool engine and BMW boxers are cool. One day they suddenly discontinue that line and it's a keeper.

Haha thanks! No, there were no bike rules it just went out this way. But we talked about this snd the bikes. A group of fan boys just strengthen the idea of this bike and how fun it is to ride. 😂🙌
I see a few different brands/types of luggage on the 890s, which one has the best fit and function?
Thats a tough question, the prerequisites here is that we are supposed to have a rather low volume packing. This since we are on a longweekend trip, without the need for camping gear. We needed a sleeping bag, change of under layers, eventual rain gear pending on what riding gear used, powerbanks, something to wear at evenings and optional electronics. Tools could be brought down per person since we had few differences in bikes.
Water was needed to be carried for the day rides.
I used my Mosko Stinger 22 which is a part of the Reckless 80, i regret that even if i was fine. I should have taken the Mosko BC 40 Litre which also one of the guys did, this due to i had to squeeze ny very minimal packing, the only unnecessary item was my outdoor pants. My Mosko Hood tankbag did well, really like it due to the onehand quick opening to a large compartment.
A father and son shared the packing on the fathers bike.
I only made one reflection over the different packings, that was that the larger Kriega bags on one bike was moving alot more than for example the Reckless 80/40 system. The guy needed to tighten the packsystem on the way, but it never got as tight as the Mosko.
Ari's Giant Loop seemed very fine and tight. But as always, i think every one was fine with their chosen solution for this trip.
Looks like you are seeing a wet summer. I think it has rained once here in 2 months, very hot and dry, lot's of fires. Not sure I can unsee the lake bath at 27 minutes haha! Looks like you need a follow-up review on that Mosko jacket...seems like a good time Mattias, cheers🍻
I have had a ni e summer up far north this summer, but where I live it has been raining all the 4 weeks i left with the van. (An epic trip) latest week it just poured down even more. Landslides in Norway and flooding in Sweden. Worst thing is that it continues to rain, so it is even worse now.
The Mosko jacket is great, holds up and keep me dry. Unfortunately o have burnt a hole in the outer layer with the exhaust, but it's still working. I will come up with something on the gear.

Tusen tack Palle! Ja vi såg översvämningar överallt och efter det har det ju kommit ännu mer regn så nu är det ännu värre för dem som bor i Mellansverige. Vi hade sjukt kul som vanligt på sådana här turer med vänner. Så fint att köra där uppe i norra Värmland och Dalarna, magiska spår att köra överallt.

Tackar, för denna video första halvan en Fujifilm XT4 med ett 16-80 objektiv, andra halvan av videon en Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra. Jag fick problem med minneskort som behövde formateras för att kunna användas vidare och det för man ju inte innan man tömt det. Dock gör S22 Ultra en riktigt bra jobb, en riktigt trist miss ät att jag inte fick med mig de externa mic'arna. Trots att de är perfekta att packa i min Chest Rig, de är inte större än så. Ljudet blev lidande av detta.
Fint! Ibland svårt att höra tal pga av musik:)
Det var svårt att göra något vettigt av röstupptagningen, då jag glömt micarna hemma tyvärr. Det låter värre utan musik, tänkte ett tag att s´kippa allt snack och göra en berättande voice over istället, men knåpade med det så gott det gick.
Hur mycket betalar KTM ? Kan du leva på att filma ? Dags att bli en influenser Hahahaha 👍

That depends, but the new 690 is a great trail bike that are travel capable. I had a 690 and was really happy with it for sporty ADV.
