Love your videos; genius fun, and beautiful teacher ma'am!!! 🚀
Fantastic video as usual. You strike me as the type of person who can play anything. I enjoy your videos but I have to admit your improv videos are amazing because it shows everyone just how much of a great player you are.
musicfan100 this means a lot. Thanks so much honey. Works gone a bit insane at the mo & im abroad a lot so tricky to get time in the studio with my videographer but will keep the videos coming as frequently as time permits. Appreciate your support & kind words more than you know. Makes me keep it up! Cx
love the approach. 'fraid i have to agree with danny aaron re; pitch. 1/2 step low on youtube. slid my mouthpiece all the way
back, still not there. took it off and went in another room. got closer. finally went outside, took the bus downtown, got off at the cable car terminal and tried again. perfect pitch. :) But having so said albeit snarkily jestily, love having riffs to work in all 12. Usually i take bits and pieces of tunes and do them. especially intro phrases, like e.g., first coupla-four bars to lullaby of birdland. Thanks for a great lesson...
So odd, it's like it exported weirdly as the vid sounds fine from my desktop but out on youtube. I must've had a setting on when I uploaded. I'll take this down and reupload soon.... Thanks for flagging this!
youre way in explaining the tips is good and lets the new student understand them well⚘💓 i really enjoyed the vedio
Thanks so much! That means a lot to me :-) xxxxx
Hey Chez could you consider putting together some tips and tricks/ strategies as to how to progress into joining a small garage band? As I've learnt a lot about playing by myself from your vids (Hahahaha..keep it classy!) but the next step is moving and grooving in a band with other muse'os...is it as simple as transposing the key and jamming it out?
koolkiwikat great suggestion! I'll put it on the list. It's always worth getting together with other musicians for a jam. Happy to help with a Skype lesson to get your confidence up & give you some tips Hun. Have you watched my video of improv over house music?
czcams.com/video/OJWPkXjyixY/video.html
yep seen allmost all your vids, keen to groove with musos more then djs
great gal!!!!
Bravo! This Improvisation is by far the best I ever heard. It triggers something in me. Can't event get bored listening it round 20 times per day. I'm wondering if you can share the notes, since I'm newbie in alto sax.
Thanks Chez
Pipper Lepipper what a beautiful comment. Thanks so so much! The notes used should pop up on the screen as the video runs through. Or were you hoping for a transcription of the whole solo I played??
I was rather hoping for the transcription of the whole solo. You're too fast, can't it figure out by myself
Cool video! Any tips on where/how to use altered dominant scales would be super duper.
Jonniejonjon yep. I'm thinking a video on tricks over chord 5 could be a winner soon. Quite advanced though. I might work up to it with a couple more progressive videos to get to this... thanks for the suggestion ! Keep an eye out. I'll get there eventually. Cx
Hi, lovely played. How can one contact you
You are great, I understand a lot :) the trouble is remember all those notes, I'm having difficulty to remember quadriadi
Martina Martina ha ha! Yes it is quite an advanced video? Have you checked out the whole playlist? There are lots of improvisation videos which are less of a mouthful so to speak! Thanks for watching cx
Chez Taylor - Saxophone thanks for your answer. I've already seen all of your great videos :)
tks²! kkk
Nice, what the backing track your using, more please.
Marcos Paulo I literally just searched CZcams for blues in all keys I think & then chose my fave! Have a search around, I'm sure you'll find one that suits you. Thanks for watching & for commenting honey. Cx
Thanks for your help and search. Thanks for you posts, too! You're show! :D
muito legal mas faz uma legenda em portugues obrigado ...
Hi Chez, I like this video! However, I was wondering how each key played fits the backing track. Are the keys you played following chord changes?
ApertureLad they are indeed! I'm following a circle of 5ths. Have you watched my boring video on scales? It's worth making your way through!
czcams.com/video/SbW6PuTrLNA/video.html
Thanks for the reply. I have seen the video on scales. Think I'd better go over it again.
Which key the backing track in Chez?
The track is a minor 3rd above honey. :-) x
Thanks babe.
Mindi Abair or Candy Dulfer? who do you think is better?
I love candy. She's a total babe!
Oh
are you tuned to a=440? Everything is 1/2 step out like you're tunned to a=415.305hz. Weird???
Danny Aaron hmm...that's strange. Not sure why that's happening. Have you tried a few times? Are you on wifi or 3G? Wonder if there's a latency on the video...?
I made a short video to show this let me know if you cannot see it
Im on a desktop with a direct network connection but this is also happening on my iphone. Maybe some pitch shifting latency due to european to american conversion??? dunno...
Danny Aaron where can I view the video you took Hun? Do you have a link? Cx
