Great recap. I'll definitely binge Fleabag, I never got around to checking it out. Samantha has SO many good lines this episode: "Honey, welcome to my box", "Friar Fuck", etc.

if i remember correctly i think carrie complains about the mail from the dating website because of the age range boxes and how she's turning 35 means she's in the last age range box on that letter, which was 35-44.
I'm not bothered about my age. But a friend show me a "dating escape game" paper (I know, kinda creepy concept) and the age range was 35 to 45 and I thought I was too young for it. Yeah I was 35, it's quite a shock to realise you're not in the 25 to 34 age range
Yeah I've never understood the depression over turning 30+. I'm 41 and I'm happier and healthier than I've ever been. Youth is great but I don't think of or look at myself as old. There's so many obstacles that are no longer obstacles now which is awesome. As far as soulmates, they come in many forms. I also think you can have more than one. My bestie of 35 years is mine. My late husband was the love of my life.
You know how some women won’t admit they’re over 29?One of my husband’s cousins was also weird about turning 30, but rather than stay 29 she skipped to 31. She said she was turning 31 two years in a row
I had the exact same thought: Phoebe Waller-Bridge definitely had the "hot priest" idea from SATC (not only that you can see she was influenced by the show).
Fleabag was the first thing I thought of when I watched this episode for the first time lol
Samantha is so funny in this episode when she's like OH TELL ME MORE ABOUT THIS ST FRANCIS hahaha
And Just Like That is not cannon. The series ends after the first movie. That is that!

Turned 30 this year and very much panicked lol 🙈 last few months of my 20s I had several breakdowns because I wasn’t where I thought I would be yet. But my 30th bday was beautiful. I took a solo trip to Portugal to reflect on the past decade and what I want this one to look like. I still want to make many changes in my life, and improve myself, mind, body, and soul. That said, I’m also learning to count my blessings, live in the moment, and ride the waves of life. ❤
i looooove this episode, probably the best season opening of all seasons! carrie's sad birthday, the jokes about being single, the soulmate topic, its all so releatable, and of course the ending is heart-warming

@TRoyce-wj1kh it depends on what you consider interesting. From SATC, I only have that skirt and silver Manolos from The Woman's Right to Shoes.
I turned 30 last year and was actually so looking forward to it and I missed all the lockdowns and booked a nice trip away with my best friends... and my body decided to get a 3 month kidney infection where I spent 5 weeks in hospital including my birthday. I was allowed to stay at my house overnight and that was my 30th birthday treat because I couldn't eat anything at the time without vomiting. Definitely the most depressing birthday. 😂

Soul mates are real but not as crazy bonkers , very common. Soul friends who you have probably been with before . It's funny that alot of people who don't believe in spirituality or don't make it a priority still talk about looking to find their soulmate. And it's a big part of pop culture.
I do believe we have more than one soulmate, they are just very hard to find
@Kasia Sopniewska twin souls are usually the rarer out of the two. As far as I know, soul mates would be like a familiar feeling, could be anyone and twin souls are insanely intense (they don't even have to be romantic, those souls just decided to bring something to the world) loads of weird seemingly spontaneous spiritual stuff can happen in those types of relationships. I just recently turned 33 years old and I was fine with turning 33 I didn't panic I feel okay getting older that's just part of life I use to panic about getting older when I was a kid
