    Really nice turorial/review. I have both bass and nubass, love them

    Very helpful and entertaining! Thank you! You concentrated on the sounds. If I remember right, one big difference regarding the sequencer is the Nubass' capability to randomize the Slides, Transpose and Accents which I really like while jamming with it.

    Oh man, could you imagine the Volca Bass with proper pattern chaining? I LOVE the Volca Bass, it's one of those devices I will probably never ever get rid of because it sounds really good and is cheap as chips. I think I paid 75 euros for mine including an adapter, you can barely have a night out for that price these days.

    Love that. I don't know anything about these machines but always dream. Never seen such a clear and humble demo, and your jam with the three machines sounds fabulous. And your voice sounds like Giorgio Moroder!

    Thank you for this video, you are very good at explaining what you do and why. I am trying to decide if I should buy the bass or NuBass so the comparison part of the video was great!

    I really like your Volca videos. I do not own the NuBass but the original Bass and you just showed how much I can actually do with that already.

    Great overview as usual and tasteful jamming! I'm still on the fence about the nubass given that I have the original bass though - it feels like a nice to have, not a need to have. Looking forward to the next episode and your thoughts on the volca drum!

    The pattern chaining on the Nubass seems like a great feature. It would be cool if Korg would also make a version 2 Volca Bass with chaining. :-)

      I Agree! Too bad they added pattern chaining so late in the series.

    • @AdamVoxMusic
      @AdamVoxMusic  Před rokem +3

      Yes, a Volca sequencer, with pattern chaining, all editing features (slide, transpose, accent, shift) and live control features over 16 individual midi channels and midi in/out would be a centerpiece in my live setup! 🙂👍

    NuBass is the only Volca I don’t own and I appreciate your video. I now know I don’t need it.
    Edit: Jam #2 was epic!

    The sequencer on the nubass is really nice, love step jump and being able to edit and randomise transpose/slide/accent. It's a real shame you can't use velocity to control accents over midi though. I find myself using the bass more though.

    It does seem like the user interface is slightly smoother on this one, in terms of the pattern chain and accent abilities? Wonder if there will be a Bass2 that incorporates some of those design features. I’ve been playing with the FM2 recently and while the sequencer seems to not quite fit what I need, I am enjoying the pattern chaining and other functions.

    So I have been having problems getting my NuBass to power from Myvolts Crazychain All my other volcas work on one chain but I can't get it to power just one NuBass. It shows a low battery for 3 seconds and power down immediately without working. Did you have to do anything to get it to work with MyVolts over USB?

    • @AdamVoxMusic
      @AdamVoxMusic  Před rokem +1

      How many amps is the Myvolts? Volca Nubass uses a Vacuum tube technology that has a High power consumption than a transistor driven synth (or digital).

  • @goonfish
    @goonfish Před rokem +1

    God I hope there's a NuBass2 in the works with the Volca Bass individual oscillator tuning! That & pattern chaining, a more robust drive, maybe a delay/reverb... would be an INSTANT nab since I sequence externally anyway, so the built-in seq limitations aren't as major.

  • @Decoy303
    @Decoy303 Před rokem +2

    I love everything about this machine (I own it) especially the fact they implemented a pattern shift left/right on it but what I dislike the most is that you can't put slides onto all the steps. If you do it will fade out. Also note that the sustain function does not fix this issue. There is a lack of firmware also but that's pretty much with all the volcas as Korg doesn't really pay much attention to its user/consumer base.
    This is even more evident with their release of the Drumlogue. You want a good acid machine I would get a Bassbot from Cyclone Analogic or if it's in your budget a Avalon Bassline used... if you can even find one.
    Me personally; best budget 303 is the Behringer TD3 or is Modded Out version.

      One thing I like about the Nubass, is that it is not a 303 clone, it is its own unique sound. :)

    Ya you made a mistake. One tube is used for the main osc. Sub ocs, like all ways, is made by processing the main osc. Second tube does the saturation

    I have a question, what cable do you use to hook it up to a stereo?

  • @angelportal5378
    @angelportal5378 Před 11 měsíci +1

    The annoying problem with the volca bass is the that you have to crank the volume to the max to barely hear it

    • @AdamVoxMusic
      @AdamVoxMusic  Před 10 měsíci

      Sounds strange, I have never had that problem... What cable are you using? Remember that the output of the volca bass is in stereo, so if you use a mono cable you could get that effect. Or your volca or cable might be defect...
