    I was advised to get the Kickers several years ago. I did & installed them in my front doors. WHAT a difference!! I'm going to install the rears here soon because I think my 25 year old originals are just plain worn out. Lol! (1999 F350 crew cab)

    I know it’s a old video. To anyone watching this video. Be sure to put the damping mat on the part of the door where the door panel sits on. He didn’t do it and should have. It helps with bass response and vibration from the speakers moving. It helps more then doing the inside door skin. Don’t waste your time with it if you aren’t going to do both skins.

    I just did two way kicker 6x8 speaker in rear. Trying to find a 2 12's box that fits under the rear seat. Down fire probably. What are the hooks behind the rear seat for? Bungie cords and rachet straps?

    just an fyi I have an 06 6.0 crew cab and the speakers are not in the same spot in the back, they're quite a bit more challenging to get to.

    Did the face plate come with the head unit, or did you pick it up separate? Most I've seen for this gen are hideous. That looks clean!

      My truck does not have that feature. However I know on crutchfield, you can select that as a feature you would want.

    Out of retirement lol. What r u thinking of all this epa stuff ???

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  Před 4 lety +5

      lol been to long i know! As for the EPA stuff I don't like it. They will kill a huge industry, putting millions of people out of work. The industry is being seen as criminals, no different than that of a drug dealer. It's not right, we should be allowed to modify our trucks, we paid for them. We should be allowed to upgrade when an oem product has failed. For example, the 6.0 powerstroke VGT turbo. If you don't pull it and clean it every so often eventually it will stick reducing performance. I should legally be allowed to pull that turbo off and swap to a non vgt turbo, a turbo that is more reliable, that i won't have to clean or replace periodically. The EPA thinks that OEM is king, when in reality we all know that the OEM makes products so that they last until the warranty is over. ITS ALL ABOUT MONEY. EPA is enforcing to get money since trump cut their funding, EPA thinks OEM is King, OEM doesn't make products that last. See the trend? EPA and OEM is a money industry, and the end user is paying for it.

      Left Lane Diesels couldn’t agree more. I just wanted ur opinion because I know as well as upgrading some work trucks to be reliable you are also in the racing industry that is getting hit hard right now as well. I guess my other question for you too would be from
      Some podcast I listened to made it seems like they were going after the newer diesels and not so much the older ones. So are you saying that you can’t go to the non vgt because it needs tuning? I was under the assumption if it wasn’t a delete tune such as deleting the egr from the 6.0 and it was just tuning it was okay. Im no mechanic so maybe you can help clear it up.

      @LeftLaneDiesels  Před 4 lety +1

      Phil D from what I understand, anything that effects emmisions. Which includes a different tune, bigger tires, exhaust system. Anything and everything. Basically you wouldn’t be able to do anything to your truck. We can only hope that trucks would be grandfathered in.

    • @PhilD54
      @PhilD54 Před 4 lety

      Left Lane Diesels it’s just weird because if you get a 7.3 for example it has no emissions and may be a clean tune that hasn’t not much of anything coming out of the tailpipe. Right or no?

    • @LeftLaneDiesels
      @LeftLaneDiesels  Před 4 lety +1

      Phil D they all have emmisions standards so the tune would have to be compliant with those standards. Usually a tune changes timing of fuel delivery for example to increase power. By doing this, even though the delivery is clean and efficient, you have altered the emissions output. All products, including tuning, will have to be emissions compliant for that vehicle.
