I came here to leave a similar comment but you beat me to it. The logic isn't flawed or difficult to understand at all, if an entity makes contact with the block the landmine is on, it blows up. If an entity does not have collision with, or 'passes through' the landmine block, it does not explode.
I like how he just gives so many good and serious suggestion across the whole video but at the end just start roasting the "best weapon" in the game because it can't do something that a usless watergun can.
do you wanna know what needs a buff? the freakling golem, he's been a joke since he was implemented, for f*ck sake, he is the third to last required boss of the game, he cannot be so weak
@@San-lh8us I mean most of the time if you fight it with pre-planters weapons on your first play through you’d lose. I wouldn’t say golem is super weak, I’d say golem is super easy with post-plantera gear. It’s a unique boss with lots of projectiles, but it isn’t bullet hell and also isn’t hard to hit. These two factors are because of the temple. You get limited space to fight golem, so Re-Logic made it so golem didn’t have too many projectiles and also didn’t go through walls. There’s not an easy way to buff golem except buffing it’s stats and making it hard to hit, and wouldn’t you know it, you can already buff the stats of enemies and play worlds with small bosses.
I had a world with my brother, I discovered the mines, saved up a ton of money, and whenever he was distracted I placed one in front of him. This would kill him and the surrounding npcs, and was the most hilarious thing to my demented mind. Ah memories
True Story: I remember when I murdered everyone in my world (Just my classmates) by covering my world with landmines and we all can't stop laughing and it wasn't new to them. (I got a ton of landmines thanks to the duplicating glitch)

@@CyanicCore By giving the player a few summoner or sentry accessories and weak sentries/summons they can probably focus on the landmines. Having statues places behind to continuously spawn a horde of enemies would encourage the player to rush through it. I think it would be a fun gamemode.

The reason why the Eye of Cthulu and the giant ass worm I-always-forget-the-name-of dont activate the landmines is because they move in the imaginary 3D space that is the background.

Those land mines look like they come straight outta Worms Armageddon! I started using lava to take care of NPC's lol, much faster and still requires water later.

I know from a logical standpoint it wouldn’t seem like it’d make much sense for most bosses to not activate land mines, but the ones that go through terrain (like Cthulhu and Destroyer) are just slightly in the background or foreground and therefore kind of miss the land mines, while bosses like kingslime isn’t strong enough to move anywhere but on the same layer as the player, and other mobs that touch the ground.
I think the EoC be in the foreground and not on the same plane as the Player as it can still be seen in front of blocks. The Destroyer is most likely in the background with a large hitbox you can damage so it can die as it can’t be seen while burrowing underground
