Vulcan S, So What is My ERGO-FIT setting if they aren't the reccomended ones?

- My 2018 Kawaski EN650 Vulcan S ABS SE purchased with 402 miles on it, what is My ERGO FIT setup? Whatever the original owner/dealer setup is, needed to be determined. Then how does it fit my riding style, What do I need to change. Is it even to Kawasaki's Recomended setting for my height?
Well as we should have figured, this system is beautiful indeed. Kawasaki Suggestions can be altered in many more ways that three. I didn't have to do much, but outside the recomendations for my height is one sweet ride!
Whether you are a new rider, or a seasoned rider, this Kawasaki Vulcan S is a great bike in my opinion. Of course new riders should have completed a beginners safety course before riding a bike on the road.

These are 2 sets of bars for the Ergo set up. Measure the inside of the grips. 33” is standard reach and 31” is the reduced reach. Hope this helps.

Yes legs out!! No udea what handlebars come as std. but good they can be pointed down for less reach

Dont worry if your struggling with leg lenght you get to shrink a little buy the time you in your late 50s in my 40s I had a 35 inch inside leg seam now at 58 it is 33 inch and I was 6ft 6ins tall banging my head on doorframes for much of my life, Im now 6ft 3ins tall, I guess gravity is pretty strong over here in the UK😂 Just wish my size 12 feet would shrink a little, however I am hoping the Kawasaki eco fit system finds a way to help me out and Im kinda falling for the Vulcan S, it is lighter than the Royal Enfield 650 Super meteor by 90 kilos and thats a lot of weight when your not getting any younger.
I'm already much older than you. Just shy of 67. I only shrunk an inch (25mm) long legs steady at 34". The ergo fit works very well. And at this weight the bikes center of gravity is plenty low. Feels really light on it's feet.
In fact I layed it over, it doesn't even get all the way over. Was easy to stand bak up. I even did this facing the bike.
I love this bike. You would not be disappointed in it at all!

@@WilliamAndrewPhilipBodie I looked it up BD300 Sporty) and it's beautiful. Something around 290+ CC's, like 30 horsepower, I think 26 foot pounds torque, and 93 mph top end.
So I rode the Royal Enfield meteor 350 and although it's a pretty awesome bike, I toped out at only 73 mph, leaned over and all. That doesn't cut it around here.
I once had a Bashon Storm dirt bike from China it was a 230 cc Honda clone. This was a dual sport. Actually it was a mechanical work of art in my opinion and I was a machinist in my early years. But topping out around 64 to 65 mph just didn't do it for me. Almost dangerous when drivers want to be aggressive.
I could see why you would want a BD300, and I would love to ride one. I'm a little overloaded on my fleet of bikes right now so I probably wouldn't buy one but I am quite curious if it ever makes it West here to the United States of America what the price would be?

Hey Fred, I am the same height as you, 71in. Also own the exact same bike, both year and color. Loving the bike so far. How are you able to tell if the seat and handlebars are which size? If I had to guess I would say they are medium reach on my bike, as I fall within that category and it all feels pretty comfortable. But the not knowing is bugging me, haha. Thanks
Hi James. Without going back to look up my notes I believe the mid-range seat measures approximately 11.5 in from the front to the start of the incline. The largest seat is approximately 13 inches and it has a different material pattern that looks like carbon fiber. The holes on the foot pigs would dictate whether you're near mid or far reach. A little bit of study would dictate where they are set. You can also measure the push rod on the shifter side. The longest push rod Kawasaki cells is the one for the far reach. The stock handlebars are both mid and Long reach. The only different handlebar is when you want the short reach. It's not as easy to tell with the handlebars but 66% of the time you have the standard bars.
I really enjoy my bike too. I own several bikes but if I only owned the Vulcan S and my Ninja 650 I think I would be happy in most situations.

I have the extended reach seat on mine and I believe the midseat. I absolutely hate how the bike feels with the mid seat except for the handlebars. But when I put the extended seat on, the handlebars are a tad too far away. What could I do short of getting new handlebars?

The handlebars are totally adjustable. Mine were too close and I felt I needed them further away. All I had to do was loosen the clamps a bit so that the handlebars could be rotated fore and aft. (If the handlebar clamps are too loose snug them slightly so as when you rotate the bars so they stay where you place them during this adjustment).
I then sat on my bike trying different positions until they felt good, and rotated the front wheel/fork assembly to the extreme stops left and right, to make sure they didn't hit the tank and I still had enough clearance for good hand control.
They stock bars are typically what they call mid and Long reach. So this rotating fore and aft action gives a very large range of reach differences.
I actually feel that the range of adjustment is quite large. I prefer not to change handlebars to a different set very often because of the hassles with removing and gluing grips, wiring issues, etc. Let alone the added cost because handlebars are fairly pricey.
I actually went ahead and purchased a traditional Corbin seat, having it built to my own specifications by adding a little extra height to the foam and deleting the port that accepts the optional back rest which I would never want. I'll probably make a video on this upgrade someday soon.

I like my legs out like a cruiser. Rrgo extended but are handlebars to far away?
I adjusted my foot pegs all the way out and it's extremely comfortable for me, and I'm about 6 ft tall. I don't have the short bars mine came with the standard bars which are considered mid and extended reach. They are extremely comfortable because you can adjust them forward backwards by moving them up and down at the clamps on the triple tree.
I never imagined I would own a cruiser many years ago but this is one of my favorite bikes I shall keep it forever.
