A continuation of me and @jennifersugint's trip out in Arizona. The 1962 Ford Econoline (Gail The Snail) gets some more love and then we pick up an all stock 1986 Mustang GT 5.0. Can it beat @PoleBarnGarage's famous HOLEY GOAT down the 1/4 mile? Let's find out!

I swear I saw a Ford zephyr (the 70s reissue) in that junk yard.
How much for stuff. Glass 5.0 etc.
I dislike sponser ship interuptions...but this one im gonna try

Your desert revivals are, hands down, my favorite videos. I know the time, effort, and expense have gotta be pretty significant! So, a huge thanks from a viewer who appreciates what you do. 👍
I've been looking in Phoenix for my first project ! Gotta love those bodies with only surface rust!
If I was attempting to explain the spirit of America to Europeans I would tell them to watch your channels. The quintessential Americans bringing it!! I think Australians would get it immediately!
God I love when USA people refer to 50 different countries as Europe lol
@@meszarosmate4629 How did the OP "refer to 50 different countries as Europe"?
@@glennmuir5617 idk maybe there are 50 countries in Europe
@@meszarosmate4629 That was to simple but wasn’t the point…
@@guiart4728 American spirint, reffering to one country. Australia, again one country, europe, 50 countries.
Kudos to the track owner for letting you and Pole Barn get a drag in!
the drag strip owner was a champ for letting yall go out and race!
Absolutely! What a great guy. He didn't even know that we were going to be filming or that we did CZcams videos. That came up after the fact. He just was genuinely upset that we came from so far and weren't able to race. And he did not want to see us race on the street... Even though that probably would have been a good segment of the video. Lol. Much better on the track though
@NoNonsenseKnowHow
"Keeping it off the streets" is good P.R., but making sure y'all got track time is just good business.
The tech's comment (as relayed by 3rd party) about not liking these cars /events rubbed me wrong.
It's these events that generate revenue for the owner.
Let him decide who should or shouldn't be on his track and stick to arbitrarily passing cars or not.
I get it that these garbage scows have a high-probability of generating track clean-up and that's a hassle, but the owner has decided it's in his best interest.
Our team (and many others) have been held long after events, tearing our cars apart to satisfy scrutineering, and I have a special resentment for techs.....small people with a bit of (perceived) power.
Ok, rant over. I'm glad the cars got on-track. It was good content.
Glad we got to meet up at the drags and hangout! Also happy to help move the Fox body. who knows I might pick up a ride in your neck of the woods sometime 🤙🏻
Likewise man! Great hanging. And yes thank you very much for holding the mustang. Let me know if you're ever out this way for sure.
The unique car culture, the epic scenery. As a European this vlogs are Gold!
exakt!
One way in which I think he's being too European is that the Ford 200 in Gail is a tough engine with a small carburetor and throttle plate, which should allow him to cruise down the interstate at continuous full throttle. The American combination of heavy cast iron, small carbs and ports, and mild cams allows for this, and is also why American engines can be easily modified to produce far more power than they do from the factory.
Chris knows this, so I don't know why he is hesitating to put Gail's pedal to the metal on the highway, as I hear Fiats cannot do. Though a bottle of conduction boosting coolant additive might help, though I also hear plain (distilled) water conducts better than glycol in summer heat.
I am rebuilding a 1967 Mustang Coupe in the Netherlands. A 302 with a T5 gearbox and a Mustang II front conversion with disks and coil overs. Wimbledon white paint, blue Deluxe Interior and a set of American Torque Thrust rims. So I can relate a bit to the Fox body but love the older designs 👀⚡️👍
That's how we do. Gotta riskit for that biscuit. Strong coffee no tea here cousin !😅
@@kaydesignLove it! Muscle makes men happy
I grew up in a small small town right across the bridge from you, Florence Twp, NJ.. anyway, back in the 90s my school band director had an 89 Fox Body, GT convertible 5.0. She LOVES (even still) that car!! Well, I never drove it in high school, just never had the chance (we are a very very small school district so all the teachers and students knew each other back then) The town has grown a LOT since then, they sold out all the land in the country and put in hundreds of homes (NY moved down here, yuck) anyway.. about 5 years ago my old music teacher (marching band director and all 1 lady for the whole school district, again very small town) well, she gave me her Mustang for a few months, she was so disappointed over the years, a few mechanics 'mechanics' hacked through that car, did it some disservices, for sure.. anyway she let me take it and I did all new ignition, hotter coil, bigger alternator, thicker battery cables, new driveshaft (hers was bent somehow and weighed a TON) new high aluminum radiator, heater core.. the whole nine yards.. anyway that was like the coolest thing that's ever happened to me I think when it comes to old times coming back to you in your 40s.. : )
I just love these type of videos. Really lets you learn what is capable when you're out on the road and have to do repairs.
You're just a footloose and fancy free guy. Your videos are very unpredictable and I like how you can make friends with anyone you meet. I've been a big fan now for awhile so keep up the good work
I concur
Wow Chris. . .
Derek from VGG & Dalton from PBG,
And Jen mastering stick shift & 3 on the tree !
What an epic episode man.
Thanks for sharing your fun times brother.
Love seeing dalton and Derek and all the other guys I watch make appearances. Love that you guys all are friends and get along. Makes me wish I could be apart of it all
Nothing like waking up on a sunday, making breakfast, a cup of coffee, and throwing on the new NNKH video on tv!
The content you and Jen have put out with Gail and the Mustang, and Duct Tape Drags have been great. Thanks for sharing.
Glad you like them! Thanks so much for watching
Your incremental fix-up approach is very satisfying and appealing to me. Address the major concerns, then gradually fix things that reveal themselves as you go cross country
Always a smile when I see you dropped a video. Your videography is getting so professional. It’s time for you to get your own show
your watching it! I hope youtube stays like this forever, but yeah maybe they will start to make more $$$ as we slowly drag down the big networks! keep on watching!
Chris, you've single handedly made me want to visit the usa through your videos. You really show the best of the country. Always look forward to a new nnkh video.
oh yeah nice 1 hour video lets go
Mad respect to the track owner for making that happen - just an amazing video all around, but so cool to see the mustang actually run down the track!
I enjoy you working on the old vehicles and showing how it CAN be done. No nonsense mechanical adjustments. Keep on keeping on bro. We appreciate your work!
I dig your channel Chris and Jen! You appreciate the utility and simplicity of all rigs, and everything doesnt have to be a tire burner like a lot of these other guys. "Cold War Motors" is another favorite. Todd the retired trucker.
Shout out to Solderstick for their support. If I was based in the US, I'd immediately order a package right now. And oh, thank you very much for the upload, Chris! I'm sipping a beer right now and enjoying the video to the fullest.
Whoa! The Jen and Chris “Roadshow”!🎉🎉🎉🤩 Let the Goodtimes Roll!
In '88, I toured the Ford engine plant in Brook Park, Ohio. They were making the 5.0 V8 at the time. I watched the process and saw a guy do the first 'hot start' on the newly manufactured engine. It jumped around on chains like a caged animal. Now, I'm seeing those engines in these old, classic cars. Glad you had one and now a second one. Best!
I really enjoyed this! And I love how you give props to others, no one else really does that. Thank you. You just made my Sunday ❤.
Fantastic! Glad you got Derek on this video. You two are my favorite youtubers... keep up the great video content!!
That was one of the best car videos I've ever seen - way better than network television! A genuine story and it just kept getting better and better, superb to see Derek and Dalton, makes you feel like part of a family despite being thousands of miles away in London where its just hit freezing! Keep knocking them out old chap!
Well Chris, this might just be my favorite video of all time from NNKH. Thanks for taking us along on this adventure. There’s a video on my CZcams channel called “Why would anyone want to own a Fox Body Mustang?” It mirrors your emotions about them. Love your channel, keep those videos coming…….
Brilliant. I have thought of nothing I wanted to watch more on CZcams than this awesomeness. If this is the way NNKH is going you will have a UK fan for a very long time. These videos are epic and I need to start doing this kind of thing on my channel. Well done Chris, Jen & Gus.
This was a very fun episode. Enjoyed all the work on Gail the Snail and then the work on the Fox Body. It was great seeing Jen driving both cars with such skill. The race between the Holy Goat and the Fox Body was just epic.
Hell of a video! Our new 1/4 mile track opens soon, come to Missouri for a rematch sometime! I've got some spicier stuff in the arsenal 😂
Thanks man. Definitely a fun trip! And yes a future rematch is a must!
That directional light that so amused Jen is what they call a MAP LIGHT! Maps used to be made out of paper and folded up. People kept them in the glove compartment. Sometimes the driver could need help finding the best route to a location, maybe just the best route to a street locally, but it's nighttime. What to do? Pull out your map, direct the map light onto it, and find the necessary directions. REPEAT AS NECESSARY along the way! Old school manuvering like in the good ol' days. ;-)
to see my 2 favorite youtubers together made me so happy. Awesome you met up with Travis
Perfect timing I'm just home can't wait to watch this right now 🎉
45 minutes if junkyard actually sounds good also haha , you should keep the fox body :) love em
Another top notch video! Keep up the great work... don't change. You and Dalton (PBG) have the best content. Real stuff that real guys can do on a budget. No over produced BS. You and Jen make a great team!
Man, your videos are the highlight of my days!!! Watching you complete repairs in parking lots are awesome! Please keep up the great work!
Absolutely hooked to your channel, the CZcams algorithm sent me this way and so glad it did. Love the fact you keep these old motors going if you can! Fascinating stuff. UK viewer 🇬🇧
Hi from the U.K. ..just wanted to say I love these road trip vehicle collections and the No Nonsnse improvised solutions! Keep on truckin'!!
I recently found Travis and Ricks channel and watched the series on the Impala and his drive back home and have watched others i really like their channel !
Travis and Rick are cool guys.
Seeing you two on the same video, finally getting to race: Huge smile right now.
Great video, Chris. It was good of Travis to let you park the Mustang, there. I enjoy his videos as well.
You guys, and Gus are so much fun to watch, please keep the videos coming.
You made a run down the track and Gail held together. That's a win!
Chris: You best get that thorn wound looked at if it doesn't heal in a couple of days. A buddy of mine went hiking out that way and stepped on one. He lost his foot. Just sayin', bro.
Thanks for the 5 off on the soldersticks.
Dalton. Pole barn Garage. The king of SELF TAPPERS..😂
I too have been known to dabble in self tappers.......😅
Man, I love watching your videos. I don't mind the long ones because they are always informative. Some of the things I see you do I incorporate in what I do for myself. Keep the videos coming. Nothing political on your channel. Just a young man who enjoys turning wrenches and buying old cars.
Was pretty cool seeing so many people from other channels I am subbed to. Just subbed Travis's channel a couple of weeks ago. Him and his Dad do good work and they have a ton of really good content on their channel. Nice to see Jen getting the hang of a stick. I learned how to drive in a '67 Chevy pickup with a 3 on the tree and a 327 under the hood at the age of 13. A friend of mine's Dad's farm truck/vehicle. Good times!!!! My wife was also born and raised driving a stick. She loves them as much as I do. Kind of bummed when her 2014 Chevy Cruze with a 6 speed got rear ended so she moved up to a Malibu but they didn't offer a stick. But she got the Premier with a 2.0L turbo and we really like it.
Loved this trip. Watching you guys have fun at the strip, Jenn having a blast driving Gail and the smile on both of your faces driving the stang. Most of all enjoying life together with guss.
I am always impressed by your on the fly vehicle repairs and the trust you put into them by going down desert roads with no places for miles.
Jen is now a "10 percenter." People who know how to drive shift.
I love watching yalls videos. Glad this format has allowed you to do this full time. Keep the videos coming!
When Jen was driving the Mustang, Gus seen she had the hang of it, closed his eyes to rest. When the r's started coming up , he was looking. lol
So good to see most of my favorite youtubers on one video, it just happened to be yours, something to be proud of
Great video. Nice to see Derek and others as well. ....you have a great lady there..mine does not want to drive standard OR camp ! TIMBO
Love these adventure videos out west. Keep them coming. Great job Jen driving stick shifts. Gus man you are just plain adorable ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Glad you like them!
You and Jen are like two peas in a pod. You guys are very lucky to have found one another. Very entertaining video.
I was a Chevy guy my whole life then my buddy let me drive his foxbody…. He told to beat the hell out of it!! I was instantly hooked and bought my first one 2 weeks later!!! There’s a huge story about that car, and my time with it. but that’s a story for another day. Proud to say I still have that first mustang, 3 more and a Capri!!!
That's awesome. Yeah hard to knock them after driving one
Discovered this channel almost 2 years ago and I will never never be tired of watching your videos, always entertaining and not just about cars, but also about experiences and trips in a country sooo different from mine in pretty all aspects. Just keep up going strong man! Greetings from Italy ❤
1:01:46 Duct Tape Drags getting uppity. Those old grouches sound like the drag racing equivilent of "Fuds" at the flat range.
A blessing on this fine Sunday. Thanks for all the great content, it's like a kinder surprise with every upload!
Beautiful video all around. I lived in Phoenix for 11 years, and these desert adventures are particularly compelling for me. A lot of people don't get/love the desert, but for the people who do, your videos capture the experience of it vividly. The shot of Gail the Snail sitting in the shade of that auto parts store so you can work on it is quintessential desert living. Also, having grown up in NY with Pennsylvania relatives, you guys check all the boxes. I also loved your hooking up with other CZcamsrs I watch; felt like a growing family. I'm sooo happy to see young people taking an in-depth interest in these old cars. They're so special and lots of fun. The CZcams videographers are reviving interest in a fantastic way. Even as the prices go up, at least they're not crumbling into the dirt and getting forgotten.
Shoutout to the track owner for making the race happen..
I bought an 85 mustang at a repo auction for $1500 identical to yours. The paint was perfect and no rust
I detailed it and spent $200 in parts. This was back in 93 and I sold it for $5,000.
Great video and Gus is the fastest Weiner dog I've ever seen.
That's awesome!
Chris , I’m lovin this video and that drone footage of the sunset at the track was killer ! Thanks for takin me along on this adventure. !
Yup, that old Econoline will run forever will run forever with proper maintenance. Our 65 lasted years. It was a food delivery van, had doors on all 3 sides, and 4 way flashers, lighted pull switch on the dash.
Worked in the autoglass industry delivering glass and installation accessories for a couple years around 10 years ago, Fuyao glass is decent, PGW is some of the best, but it comes out of a Chinese factory too. Pilkington is hit or miss, Safelite could be a house brand made by any one of varying quality Chinese brands, or they could give you a windshield sourced from someone else if they can't find it. There's only about three glass manufacturers, I can't remember the name of the other two, one of them makes PGW's glass and sells it under their own brand, though the PGW branded stuff is the best because they keep a closer eye on quality. Fuyao is the only Chinese glass that I haven't seen delaminate rapidly before it even gets installed. Just my two cents, glad y'all had a fun road trip.
One is Guardian Glass. Worked there for a month about 20 years ago at their plant in Webster, Massachusetts.
Love those mid-engine vans. When your throttle linkage breaks you can slip a coat hanger under the lid to give it the gas. Don't ask me how I know.
Was priceless when Chris and Jen raced it down the track. 😊
Just wanted to say thanks for your videos. Jen and yourself are a very valuable asset to the car enthusiast community. Your calmness and and kind demeanor are soothing to watch and listen too. Great skills you possess. Takes my mind off the everyday hustle and stress so many of endure on a daily basis. I’ve learned a lot watching your channel. I’m a fairly good mechanic, but always am willing to watch and learn. Thanks again for your commitment to us all.
In Canada if you got a loose wheel or an issue you could fix with simple tools you knock on the nearest door, very likely if they can help they will. I’ve done it and had it done to me.
That probably would have been our next resort however we were only about a mile or so away from the hotel
Dude, great video! I love how your videos are about the adventure with wrenching along the way. Keep rockin!
Thanks! Will do!
Couldn't wait for this video. I've seen you in the background of other videos. Taking out the stock mustang just proves more people should be out at these events. Great stuff once again thank you!
I love your guy's reaction to the map light. Very few people were reading novels most everybody back then use maps
School buddy of mine had one of these fox bodies, he'd put her in neutral while we were cruising down the road, shut off the engine, then restart, which created a nice BOOM. He's passed away years ago in an accident so thinking about it brings a smile to my face and brings his memory back.
Great episode Chris! Found PBG thru your channel, NNKH and PBG are my favorite channels! Ordered many parts from Hidden Valley and had them shipped to Chester County - great people, good to deal with.
Great episode, love your road trips. The look on your face suggested you really enjoyed that drag race. I cant get over your enthusiasm when you find an old car. I'm not kidding I wouldn't keep chickens in most of them, I wouldn't even look at them (Apart from the Torino) But you not only get them going you actually drive them, incredible. I suppose it helps if you know what you're doing, and as far as motor mechanics goes, I don't. So it's nice to watch someone who does. I'm going to watch Jens vid now. Keep em comming.
1:08:00. Brings me back to the 90s street racing. Lol. Brings back memories
As you end your video Chris I understand you, according to Jen, have a 'thing' for trains.
So it's not lost on you when I speak of the horn on those engines.
I'm about 15 miles from the 'BNSF' and AMTRAK rail line in a valley here in Arizona. The track runs on the east side of this valley golden, abutting the Hualapia Mountain range. And when the engineer blows the horn on a quiet night to warn cattle or vehicles at crossings of its approach, I can hear it way over here on the eastern side of the valley. I also can hear the rumble of those mighty diesel engines as they roll along so far away from my home here on the western side of the valley. I reside on historic route 66, a.k.a. Oatman Hwy ajacent the Black Mountain where mining is still ongoing. I believe you may have heard of the tourist town of Oatman with its errant local celebrity donkeys roam the main street (State Route 66).
Now all of that intro was to explain that when you're near the track as the engineer blasts so loudly its deafening horn, you jump out of your bed and even your skin. I'm sure I don't need to explain just how loud those horn blasts are to you Chris.
I nick named the 'BNSF' as the "Blasted Noisey Son of a Female" (BNSF) when I lived 300 yards from the track.
Every now and then the engineer found reason enough to wake up the tiny RV Park where I was staying back then. Much happier now 15 miles from all the toxic materials hauled in the tanks on that route. Prevailing wind normally would also be helpful in my current location.... IF
TravisB has some good content, highly recommend his stuff. His dad sounds like Sam Eliot.
Awesome... saw you guys on VGG! Glad to see posted your own vid! I'll watch the whole thing ... 😊
Thanks for showing Moons glass. It is cool to know old vehicles can still get glass
Another first rate video Chris! That hour and 20 minutes went by fast! I’m looking forward to watching Jen’s take of this stage of your trip on her channel.
Awesome Chris! Thanks so much
Awesome show as always. I know it’s up lotta work but you guys make it look completely fun. Thanks for a wonderful hour.
Thanks for watching!
Love both Gail the Snail and the 86! My very first bracket race trophy win was in a borrowed 86 GT auto. What a great episode! Bullets, smoke, fire, speed, and Gus!
Many thanks for all your videos. I’m French and very bad at mechanics. But I did a road trip across your country when I was 20. Started up in New-York to end up in South Pasadena, hitchhiking all the way through. I’m now 63 but boy, that reminds me a lot of very good memories. Keep going !! I’ll watch them all 😊
Very cool, awesome seeing the VGG and Pole Barn interaction!!👍👍👍
YES and Freiburger from Roadkill
I appreciate you taking us along on these adventures.
Good stuff NNKH
Appreciate you coming with!
First thing first: I absolutely love your positive attitude towards mechanical breakdowns. You just fix ‘‘em and don’t sweat it. Also love your immediate diagnosis whenever vehicles act up. Oh, and Gus is the reason I watch these videos. 😅
So cool you found a 86 5.0. They are cheap fun!! I had an 86 5.0 LX. I ordered it new. Super basic no air 5-speed only sunroof and power windows. Took 2nd place at Muscle Car Nationals in 88 in street stock small block. Was pretty fast in it's day. With Nos and gears and a few other minor mods. Ran high 12's...had it for 14 years and 160,000 fun miles!!
That Mustang is an great score! I love the 4 eyes! I've been looking for one in similar condition, but keep finding them rusted out or absolutely hacked. I can't wait to see more content on that ole girl!
Travis is a cool kat
Man, Chris! You, Jen and The Gus Man put out the best vids. So much fun! I'm like others here. I think teh Desert Revival series is my favorite that you guys do. These desert road trips, with the great scenery, the constant hint of danger, the night-time pool action, the cacti. All of it. Just love it. I discovered you guys because of my love of boats, and water equipment. But I love everything you guys do.
Hey thanks Jimmy! We love taking these trips and we are so grateful that you like coming along with us
@@jennifersugint Any time!! You are making Michelle and I (and our Girls) want to go back out West. I'm itching sooooo bad again to get out there! It's hard with all the Family stuff, $$, time from work, etc. But I so love going along with the 3 of you guys!!
Frustrated working on the vehicles? As Jen once said: "Chris, that's what it's ALL about!" Without the repairs and your commentary, you wouldn't have content and we wouldn't have a great channel to watch! Was really hoping you had put ALL the repairs in the episode! Great stuff. ❤👍🙏
Love this couple and their adventures! And Gus is the man!!
So many memories seeing this car. I had an 84 1/2 which I gave a Boss 302 package to it through my own pin striping, etc (black car with bright red striping and lettering. It sure looked like a special edition). I also put an additional spoiler on the rear, to give it that double rear spoiler SVO look. Had 50/265's with modular wheels. I once decided to go through all the gears from a stop. I would go through first, not move an inch, the slam it into second and not move an inch, all the way through 4th gear and still didn't move (5 speed) and we also had 370 rear gears put on it. I used to race it a lot in quarter miles. I raced that thing for about ten years, and never needed any tranny or engine service, though I did have to replace the factory carburetor (with another factory one).
Excellent video Chris...great entertaing video for the family...now going to watch Jen's video 👍👍👍
Thanks and Hope you enjoy!
Wow, at 10:03 there is a cube van with the mexican restaurant Macayo on the side. I grew up in Vegas in the 60s and 70s and used to eat at Macayo's mexican restaurant as a kid. I hadn't thought of that in many years. I even recognize the logo.
That must have been pretty neat to see it there in the junkyard!
Loved seeing you, Jen and Puppers pop up in @Theetravisb's vid! He's a good lad. 😊
you guys are definitely moving up like George and Weasey!~ Great video!!!!!! Wow lots to see in AZ! I got relatives there and need to pay a visit! esp to all the car scrap yards there. You got to meet all the big time YT'ers ... I could say you guys are one of them!!! Keep up the great work!!
Your videos are absolutely awesome and I appreciate you posting them.
Glad you like them!
In Sweden, when you got your driver's license, if you did it with an automatic, you were only allowed to drive it. if you did it with stick shift, you could drive both.
love the channel thanks for the good work you do.
Same in Australia.
And the UK too.
Cool find. The heads and intake from one of the 5.0L V8 Explorers would wake that thing up. They're internally the same as what was used in the '93-'95 Mustang Cobra.
