    people constantly criticize Mayweather for not destroying DLH in this fight, but this was his very first fight at 154lbs, over an experienced hall of fame boxer after just moving up to 147. He had two fights at 147lbs before having to move up to 154lbs and barely managed to make 150lbs.

    And I love how its like "FLOYD WAITS FOR THEM TO GET OLD AND THEN BEATS THEM" Ya but Floyd ages too, so what you're saying is Floyd gets old just like the other fighters yet his ability to remain as good as he is, NEVER changes, which I can agree with because he's a great fighter. 50+ fights later and look at Pacquiao can't even knock people out anymore (Probably because of lack of steroids), whereas we see Floyd still handles opponents like their in grade school.

    the thing is, almost every one of DLH's punches are blocked, partially blocked or dodged. It's very difficult to see, but you can tell by the sounds of the punches landing.
    It's easier to do if you ignore the crowd and commentators.

  • @RandomLevitation

    It took Manny Pacquiao 40 fights to be finally recognized as a good fighter, he fought NOBODIES for 40 fights until he finally gotta chance with Juan Manuel Marquez in his 41st career fight. On Pacs 42nd fight, he had already lost 2 fights and had 2 draws, and his 43rd fight he would lost to Erik Morales. It took him literally 40 fights to actually make it somewhere.

  • @Phoenix_KDE
    @Phoenix_KDE Před 13 lety

    @pkbosslac i know pacquiao will give floyd trouble...but looking at his fights with marquez....you see pacquiao gets a little discouraged when he notices that he's being countered often and effectively...and the only difference between his 2 fights with marquez was that in the 2nd one he wasnt as off balance when he threw his left...but still fought the same way...floyd we know he as offense & his defense is crazy...the way i see pac winning is if he improves his jabs & fights floyd like DLH did

  • @JAYLOVE477
    @JAYLOVE477 Před 14 lety

    The problem is nowadays, are the "fans". People don't even understand the rules anymore of boxing. They just wanna see a middle school type fight with a first round knockout, and if a fighter like Floyd is taking his time and picking apart his opponent, they call it a "boring fight with no action" or "hes running away from him the entire time". They don't wanna love the sport, they wanna say their fighter is the best and that's the end of it, every other fighter sucks to them.

    @Jayluvv702 Před 13 lety

    @Hannibalscousin It's compelling to see a smaller guy taking big risks against a dangerously larger opponent. It amazes the crowd. Exciting fighters lay it on the line. Floyd landed no punches with authority that would hurt Oscar or even swell his face. He landed some quick surprising shots that Oscar didn't see but not enough to slow him down. Floyd's defense is not all that impressive with a good ref who won't allow the elbow wrestling. Floyd's an HBO fighter who De La Hoya christened for PPV.

  • @Jayluvv702
    @Jayluvv702 Před 13 lety

    With Floyd Mayweather you gotta let your hands go! Just because he popshots doesn't mean you have to. Castillo proved that & Oscar had his best rds when he let his hands go! No clinching, no elbow wrestling. Center of the ring combos! Oscar had a great plan. Due to his age and inactivity, he couldn't carry it out properly but backed Floyd away with the jab which is very important. Just couldn't time good counters shots or score inside. Age, inactivity and decrease in hand speed was the problem.

    @Hannibalscousin I could point out 2/3 occasions in every round of FM's 41 fights that would 've worked to the advantage of his opponents. Yep Ortiz is a brawler & if he can make Floyd trade he could win. Mosely didn't really catch him on his own, I'll call it a lucky punch but the right punch. Floyd seemed to be carelessly setting up to block or counter & inside punch, but Mosely threw the straight one two from a distance. Great Instinctive punch! The 2nd punch Mosely landed proves my point.

    @Blackjaynut Oscar was a middleweight on the night while Money weighed 147, so I think it would be in his best interest not to trade and/or wait for him to tire wouldn't you? Floyds best punhces for me are the Left Hook and the straight right hand, he didnt land many hooks but landed several straight rights. He actually made Oscars legs dip at one point, not bad for a welter. Now I cant think of one clean noteable punch from Oscar in that fight and I watched it a few times.

    Pac fought De la Hoya (Hatton, Mosley and Marques 2 out of 4 also, as a matter of fact) after Floyd (so they were even older, ergo if Floyd's fights were irrelevant because of the age, his were even more irrelevant). Pac has been KO'd 3 times in his career. Floyd never. Pac was KD'd by Mosley, Floyd wasn't. Pac was KO'd by an even more aging JMM, FM not even KD'd. Floyd didn't refuse to fight Pac, Pac refused to take the test.

    paquioa and roach has stated they have two more fights left, the one with bradley and one more with whom ever. and mayweather says that he will not give manny half of the share. Plus mayweather said he is retiring at 37, floyd makes 36 in february 2013, plus he will ge out of jail in september 2012. and u know he isnt going to fight again until probabaly may 5th 2013, since a mega fight takes six months to build. i think if manny beats bradley he will face marquesz one more time then retire.

    @Hannibalscousin Floyd is very good at distracting his opponents & they end up behind on the cards through inactivity. Not exchanges. Actually keeping Floyd thinking is the key to beating him. Nothing occupys a guys mind more than punches coming at him. There are blueprints to beat him, but nobody can make Floyd fight guys who have them. He's a great fighter but not unbeatable.

    Pacquiao fans usually dont have answers for your questions. Thats how it goes. JMM gave it to Pacman and instead of making him fight JMM shortly after their fight he draws it out for years so he can get older and slow down. Mayweather weighed more than JMM that night, but the weight hurt him more than helped him. So why use it in an argument? He beat him with speed not power

Mayweather's superb defensive tactics vs manny's relentless offensive barrage anyway the one who wins in the above match up is the one who makes his opponent commits blunders and the one who loses without a doubt is the one who get's too complacent (I'm not talking about floyd's boxing style here). anyway as for me i don't like technical fights its quite boring.

    @Hannibalscousin The flurries brought the action which should've counted on the cards. The only way De La Hoya lost was by fading in the later rds. He neutralized FM's best attack punches & kept him on the defensive for most of the the early rds. Oscar's combos were mainly used to agitate Floyd to make him fight. Floyd couldn't set up anything to throw at Oscar, which is why in his own admittance he was waiting on Oscar to tire out to land punches. FMs performance was not worthy of Pay Per View.

    @1988jedi Mayweathers win seems more impressive though, Oscar wasnt too out of prime and didnt have a stupid weight picked for him here and mentally he wanted this fight more i think

    Against a bigger ODLH who was comfortable at his weight....who fought a FMJ who was smaller than him.....and he abandoned his jab because Floyd would counter over it

    The worst I think is that Pacquiao vs Marquez, this last fight, everyone and their deaf and blind Grandmother knows Marquez won, and Floyd Mayweather said it best "If Pacquiao lost, then HBO and the other promoters knew that the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight would never happen because he wouldn't be that great, but they let him win to keep the hype". I mean this fight isn't gonna happen, Manny is too old for someone like Floyds shape, theyre almost the same age and Floyd is still 2-3x faster.

    If Pac would have fought this version of Oscar(Energized & Hydrated), he would have lost.

    @pkbosslac point is people say floyd cherrypicks...pac does too...every1 fighter cherry picks to end up in a fight beneficial to them...whether its to gain fame fortune or just to dominate their opponent...another point is people will create more hype over pacquiao winning because he'll go in brawling vs hit & not get hit...every1 has their opinion...when i first got into boxing i liked tyson 4 brawls...but now i think its funny watching a person try hard only to be outclassed technically
