The Nostalgia Critic actually found out what exactly these songs were meant to be. The songs for each of the four kids were homages to the past decades of music. Gloop was the 50's, Violet's was the 60's, Salt's was the 70's, and Mike's was the 80's.
I like how everytime it switches channels the music changes and take either a very small diffence like with the cooking show transferring to the rock em sockem with just a few instrumental changes and with the big differences with the rock singers completely changing the style
Most importantly, the lyrics are excerpts from the original book. They could not use the whole songs because they would be too long, but they are all almost entirely verbatim from the book. The old movie that disappointed Roald Dahl made up those stupid "Oompa Loompa, do-ba-dee-doo," songs that sounded exactly the same.
Roald Dahl is the author in question. I'm fully willing to believe he would have loved the remake, but the fact is he WROTE the SCREENPLAY for the 70s film. The many differences were written into the screenplay BY THE AUTHOR OF THE ORIGINAL BOOK. Every change was made with his full consent.
The important, that we'll ever learn. The most important thing we'll learn-as far as children are concerned is Never, never let them near, your television set. Or better still just don't install the idiotic at all! (Aah-Aah!) NeverNever let them! (Aah-Aah!) NeverNever let them! Aah-Aah! Aah-Aah! Aah-Aah-Aah-Aah! [Hair Band solo] NeverNever let them! NeverNever let them! It busts the senses in their heads! It kills imagination dead! It clogs & clutters up the mind!
yep because i have a rpoblem with it makes imagination dumb and blind. because no one ever got an imagination from watching a show. if anything it promotes imagination.
With all of Mike's rantings about how unscientific everything is and his cracking the system, he 'aint dull at all. I watch a lot of TV, really. But the only thing I found true about the song is the blind part. Too much TV, computer time, and reading in the dark is bad for your eyes. I have great imagination, and I'm above average in school. Either way, I love this song.
Actually everyone's names are a pun of their own demise, Teavee, television did him in. Violet, turned violet, Salt, nuts, down the nut shoot, gloop, up the gloop tube.
Cont. So we guess we'll have to wait & see, (we'll see, we'll wait, we'll see, we'll wait, we'll see) We very, very much agree That we shall simply have to wait and see if we can get him back to size And if we ca-a-a-A-Aaaan't? It serves him right.
Cont. It makes a child so dull and blind! SO DULL!! ( and blind!) SO DULL!! ( and blind!) They can no longer understand the fairytales in fairyland! (THE FAIRYLAND!! THE FAIRYLAND!!) Their brains become as soft a cheese! Their thinking powers rust & freeze! They cannot think, they only see!!! Darling, we don't like TV, We'd rather watch regretfully! (regretfully!)
Guys just letting you know in order of the ticket winner it’s in order of who goes first and Willy wonka plans the kids stuff and he tells the oompa loompas what song to sing so it’s a bit creepy to me
I'm a little bit curious about this, because A) the author would, as you mentioned, have no knowledge of the new version, but B) Roald Dahl himself WROTE THE SCREENPLAY for the 70s film.

When I first watched this movie, I felt like Salt’s could have been a commercial for a holiday resort or something.
best song in the movie
40th like! :3
Great song
I like how everytime it switches channels the music changes and take either a very small diffence like with the cooking show transferring to the rock em sockem with just a few instrumental changes and with the big differences with the rock singers completely changing the style
Love the song, Mike even experienced Phsyco! Love Mike Teavee, my fav character.
How traumatizing must this have been
I’d like to see someone make a short film about Willy Wonka getting sued by all of them
@@theshockerpit7274 Pity that they all signed that disclaimer in the beginning of the tour... 🤣
@@YorkshireNutte yeah, there already should’ve been a red flag considering in the first movie, they couldn’t even see some of it
@@theshockerpit7274 Pretty sure someone made a movie about how many violations Willy's chocolate factory had.
Yeah, especially when mike went into the shower snd saw the naked Oompa Loompa 💀
I love the lyrics to this song; very true.
I love how Oompa loompas were famous rock\metal band members.
+Maja Šketelj Who were they referencing with the metal band?
@Henry D. At first I thought they were referencing Queen because of the outfits
is it me or do u think the oopmpa loompas snort "the white powder" before signing this song
"Regarding little Mike Teavee" is The Beatles I presume.
This one has such an epic Queen vibe.
I can imagine grandpa Joe being freaked out if he's never heard rock and roll or heavy metal being bed ridden for far too long
Best song in the movie! IT ROCKS!!
I love this song everytime I feel like watching my DVD I would watch this clip first before the whole move.
the voice saying "it keeps imagination dead" sounds like spongebob!
Oh no
This is my fave song out of the 4.
i loved that song!!!
its my fav song from the movie
despite the subtitles its awsum!!!
here here, i heard this song and still have it stuck in my head Danny Elfman always loves to make crazy songs like this ;)
"It Serves him right! *SPLAT*"
*After that* "Ew! Somebody grab him!"
As someone who speaks Chinese,This is an ad telling you not to watch TV
The best song of the movie imo
Oompa loompa's with air-guitars; GENIUS!
Was it just me, or was Mike the smartest person in this whole movie?
mike mentioned in his interview that he did some computer hacking to find a golden ticket. wonka mentioned it too when they met. so yeah. plausible.
Just you
Smart asshole kid, maybe too smart for his own good. It's okay to be smart just to barking about it.
He was more like a smartass

I ain’t gonna lie, this movie was 3/4 on sick beats
This video is from the first year of CZcams

This song if full of so much WIN
the oompa-loompa did the most work in the movie
Roald Dahl is the author in question. I'm fully willing to believe he would have loved the remake, but the fact is he WROTE the SCREENPLAY for the 70s film. The many differences were written into the screenplay BY THE AUTHOR OF THE ORIGINAL BOOK. Every change was made with his full consent.

:glances at her TV, to the right: Hm...
Anyway! I love this song. One of my favorites from this movie.
Interestingly enough, he DIDN'T die. You can see him walk out of the factory along with the other losing kids later in the movie.

Zodiac Sign?
I hope Deep Roy got an award for his work in this movie

i love how all the oomph loompas are played by one guy
Old Stuff yE Hello Doris!
Well, in the book, it says that Willy took the entire population into his factory, and even created a room that houses all of them.
Out of all the kids in this movie I'm mst like Mike Teevee. I watch to much TV. Way to much.
My thing was buffering to this is what i heard:
Oompa: The most importa-
Oompa: Never let- nt thing, we have ever learned.
love this kiss imitation!
Me *watches CZcams during class*
Teacher:
I get the message, but what this movie DOESN'T tell you that with the right mind, this isn't necessarily true.
yep because i have a rpoblem with it makes imagination dumb and blind. because no one ever got an imagination from watching a show. if anything it promotes imagination.
First Chocolate Factory video in 2005
He was turned into a mindless program. He died when the zapper disintegrated his very molecular existence.
I can't believe they predicted iPad kids.
Just wish they put this version on CD instead of the short version.
at 54 secs he looks like johnathon the zombie who likes turtles
Looks mostly like Queen to me.
Lol! The splat sound effect was awesome! Splat!
With all of Mike's rantings about how unscientific everything is and his cracking the system, he 'aint dull at all.

Good thing I love carrots.
And yes this is the best song in the movie and I also like veruca ty if you got any replies pls write them
ommpa lommpas are usualy the smallest people in the film but in this scene Mike is.
In an alternate universe, this guy became the clones in star wars and that guy became the oompa loompas.
Actually everyone's names are a pun of their own demise, Teavee, television did him in. Violet, turned violet, Salt, nuts, down the nut shoot, gloop, up the gloop tube.
I Love this and Mike He rocks!
I love oompa loompa forever

Cont.
So we guess we'll have to wait & see,
(we'll see, we'll wait, we'll see, we'll wait, we'll see)
We very, very much agree
That we shall simply have to wait and see
if we can get him back to size

Да уж. Не надо было Майку выпендриваться. В результате уменьшился и избит кучей гигантских Умпа-Лумп размером со взрослого мужчину

Their thinking powers rust & freeze!
They cannot think, they only see!!!
Darling, we don't like TV,
We'd rather watch regretfully! (regretfully!)
Gotta give it up to the new movie, they did use the songs from the book(though I prefer the Oompa Loompa's design in the old movie.)
