During Finnick's speech, he talks about how snow would force him and other victors to be prostitutes. If they didn’t snow would kill someone they love. Remember he wins his game at 14.
But its also said in the books "The Capital couldn't touch him, not for the first few years anyway. But once he was 16..." I cant remember the rest but basically the Capital would wait until 16 still bad but I think its loosely based on how irl most states ages of consent are 16.
Finnicks speech was so powerful in this film. Speaking of Snows disgusting actions and the fact that he’s dying, “white roses to cover up the smell of blood from sores in his mouth”
She was a kid. She went in to the games at 16. It is barely a year later. She is being forced to be something she didnt want. She only wanted to save her sister. Peeta was her safe place.

I love how savage Katniss was when singing the Hanging Tree in order to use against Snow.
There are actually nuclear bombs in this universe, both the Capitol and District 13 have them. District 13 is located in the area between Maryland and New England, where D.C. is, and their main export was nukes. It’s basically Mutually Assured Destruction, the Capitol and 13 don’t use them because they know that they would be wiped off the map in return.
It’s also why the capital left 13 alone even though they knew they were all alive still. Because at that point what did 13 have to lose if the capital kept gunning for them. Might as well just let a nuke of before dying.
I hate how Peeta was done dirty with these movies. There is a vast difference between Book Peeta and Movie Peeta in order to sell the non-existent love triangle. Katniss considered revolution for Gale but choose revolution for Peeta. In all actuality Katniss was the spark and Peeta was the oxygen that allowed it to catch fire.

The ending to this movie always gives me goosebumps every time. The cinematography in The Hunger Games is seriously slept on.
I just reading finished Mockingjay. I like how Katniss was looking at Coins' hair/wig like in the book. 😂
I never read the book and the movie never addressed it so I just assumed it was a bad movie wig intended to be real hair.

Katniss makes me laugh. She's at important command meetings and is like "her hair is too uniform to be real. It's gotta be a wig." And it's like "babe, can we focus on this revolution?" She's such a fun character.

13:00 Coin was much more charismatic in the past and also did a lot of good decisions all over the years. But she is exhausted. Exhausted with trying to survive, she lost her family, a lot of people of 13 got ill and infertile - they were on brink of destruction, tbh and her leadership did provide them with some stability. She was also good back then - before she decided to survive at all cost, destroy Capitol, at all cost. I think it's implied that they allowed 12 to stay, because they needed fresh people and genes and they decided to go with the revolution, because they knew they wouldn't survive in the long run.
Other thing about Coin - Katniss was also a child, she was an expense that could be spent, similarly to all those Capitol children at the presidential gates (and Coin probably also wanted that revenge for her kids and kids of 13 that would never get born). The original Coin maybe wouldn't do it, but the widowed and bitter Coin?

I didn't recognize either the brothers Castor or Pollock's, but I recognized Chris Cressida as Marjorie from game of thrones and there's somebody else from game of thrones are going to meet, but I forget whether it's in this movie of the next one she played. Brianne of tarth

Surface level, such cool movies. But I really think it's kind of radical that the movie has a complicated message about propaganda (is it honest, is it using people, is it manipulative even if you're on the right side) and then they made the actual advertisements of the movie mirror the propaganda in the film. They use the same graphics in the real world promotion and merchandise that they do in the film trying to get people hype. It's kind of an interesting way to turn a mirror on their own viewers/consumers, to say that in times of war or unrest, you can be and clearly are easy to manipulate.
Yea makes you think. Like in dune the people shoud fear the great icon. The Glorious revolution is so many a time a bloodbath

I honestly really like this one, just wish they spent more time away from katniss like with the deleted scene for snow “recruiting” peter and a few more of those other districts acts of sacrifice for the war effort scenes.
Generally the way they do war in this series is wonderfull, not glorified but not underdone or anything, a lot of moments happen between both mockingjays that typically done happen in stories with the protagonist ie taking out the bomber attacking the hospital only for it to crash into the fucking hospital.
I've always wondered why the Capitol woud broadcast Peeta's interviews live instead of recording them to be in control and prevent such things as his warning. And how tf would a prisoner know about their military strategy? How dumb are they?
You're right that pre-recordings would've given them more control than live interviews. But the thing is, I think it was simply arrogance. Why would they think Peeta would go against them? Peeta's just a kid, one they'd been torturing and controlling. They were just using the same route they'd always taken - the pre-interviews and Hunger Games were live, so this would be too.
And with that arrogance and how little they think of anyone not in the Capitol, I can see some lower-level person talking about District 13 in front of him. I mean, what's he gonna do about it? They have all the power after all. It was an absolute fluke Beedy's broadcast got in and that he heard it, one they never could've predicted.
I bet Katniss would have requested to see him live to prove he was still alive, but yeah

In the books, Katniss beleives they are pre-recorded. That is how he looks dramatically different in some. She thinks they recorded one directly after the events of the first movie, so he looks healthy and then began torturing him. Though they are dumb for letting the bombing of 13 be leaked to him.
This is now one of my favorite ways to re-watch a movie

I don't think she did. In the book there isn't any mention of this. I am pretty sure Katniss would mention feeling guilty about it. I guess it's just a weird camera angle.

Honestly this is my favorite movie because I’m more into the politics of this world than the games
I find every movie flawless. Maybe not as much the 4th film but that’s just because the writing is a little confusing but not by much. Cant wait to watch the prequel
