    This is the part of magic I have come to respect over the years is the dedication,commitment and hard work these talented people put into their work just for our entertainment. Five years perfecting it. Just to have commenters dismiss that with guesses and debunks unfairly dismisses the point.

    I've watched it more than twice (with 0.5 playback speed) and I think I've a pretty good idea WHEN you palm the man's card and slip the woman's card in your shirt pocket. But, no matter how much I watched, I've got no idea HOW you control the selected cards to the bottom AFTER the man shuffles the card.
    Superb! Masterfully done!

      @MrKockabilly Před 8 měsíci +4

      3:31 he already got hold of the guy's card in his LEFT hand, there's really no need for a pocket in the back
      3:33 is when he inserts the girl's card in his chest pocket. Obviously there's a slit in the side where he can slide it in
      4:37 is when he cautiously tap the pocket with his left fingers (to ensure the card doesn't accidentally slide out on that side)
      5:21 is when he detached the chest pocket from his shirt while facing back
      These are actually the easy stuff and the things Penn saw. But how Mr. Engblom found those two cards from a shuffled deck is the real mystery that earned him the trophy. Wonderful performance!

    Really great routine man. First time through I saw a couple things (and I don't mean that in any negative way I was just really intently watching) and think I have an idea of how and when you loaded her card into the pocket, not 100% but I think I have an idea. but I'm really lost as to what you used inorder to get his out once it was shuffled because with the few methods I was thinking normally involve a force or a rougher way but they appear to be free choices. I had re watched it in it's entirety twice after to see if I missed something with his the first time through but whatever method you use it's great. It really is a fantastic effect and you were really very clean with the slights you used. I'm also interested in exactly what method you used to keep the pocket attached. I noticed something small in the video that had me thinking it was magnetic but could be a number of ways. Regardless I'm really impressed, and again great job :) and I hope I didn't say anything too revealing if you think I did feel free to delete this or I can edit it.

      @TheBigFinnish  Před rokem +28

      Hey Atayha,
      Let me be very candid with you here, with a fact that I have not shared, except with a handful of friends before…
      I was very anxious when the producers chose this effect out of several I had planned instead. The reason was because I knew P&T would not be fooled by this routine. They ARE smart!
      However, the night before the show, I came up with a plan… and on the day of the taping, Michael Close, one of two magicians on the show who act as a consultant for us competitors, and serve as well as the final judges, incase of a disagreement whether a performance fooled P&T or not, suggested this idea as well.
      Make the challenge all about the fairness of the procedure to lose the chosen cards, and then how I am able to get to them.
      And it was exactly that part of the routine that finally won the day for me.
      There is a difference between magicians and a layman audience. If a lay person figures out 10% of a trick, although he can not explain the remaining 90%, he feels that he was not fooled.
      Magicians are the exact opposite, in that if they can not explain the last 10%, they admit that they were fooled.
      Strange difference, don’t you think 🤔?
