@@JenniferGlatzhofer Yeap, usually is like this with Kellyoke, they don't have time to rehearse a particular song, Kelly, obviously, knew the song because she is crazy about music, her band is brilliant also, but they don't really have time to rehearse with the band and all. In her concerts, they pick o song to cover from a tweet from someone in the audience and they cover it on the spot. She is crazy like that...and her voice is crazy like that also...

I appreciated hearing that from her because it explained why SO much of the melody was different. She legitimately didn't know it. LoL
I'm fine with making a few creative choices, but there comes a point where it's too much, and you're essentially disregarding the original. That's what I thought was happening here when I first watched it, which Kelly doesn't usually do. Then I saw that clip of her saying she was just winging it, and I was less bothered by the frequency of the changes.
@@lentilovski Well, on tour they usually have one day of rehearsing, they don't "pick and then do it right away". Which don't get me wrong, it's amazing and one day is still like nothing, but it's not what you just said.
I don't know how it is with her Kellyoke segment so I won't comment on that, but that tour thing was just off. No need to glorify her, she's magnificent as is.

You know Kelly never left. She was always doing things. People were just underestimating her last few years.
Agree, she had a little time away when she had her kids, which was only a few months, but she’s been constant otherwise. She’s not the type to completely disappear for years at a time. She’s too driven for that. I think her show however is giving her that extra exposure she didn’t have before. I’m seeing a lot of people just discovering her in the last couple years. People saying they didn’t know she was such a good singer lol. Where have ya all been?! Lol 😂

She's been a judge on "The Voice"
In my humble opinion Kelly is one of the great vocalists. There are one or two in every generation and in my opinion Kelly is one.
Such a gorgeous, amazing voice; power, emotion, control, color, versatility, i don't know a better singer today. Love virtually EVERYTHING she sings. And when she sings a great song it is phenomenal.

Super reaction to Kelly ! I always liked Kelly since she won the first season of American Idol. She is the sole reason the show was to continue on surviving ! Until she came along they didn't know if the show would go on ! But when Kelly starting singing the realized that they finally had a markable star to promote ! I love Kelly's voice and always have admired her because she has her own ambitions and stayed true to herself after her American Idol committments ! She has a wide range of vocal talents from soft and breathy to gritty and powerful ! She has a beautiful vibrato and can deliver with such emotional feelings ! There are certain songs I wish she would be able to sing the whole song but I think it may have to do with copywriter issues. I love this performance. I want one day she be able to sing the whole song

I see Kelly and I click immediately. As a fan of Kelly's since her Idol days, it's always so strange to hear people say that they're just now discovering her or that she fell off and now she's back. Although I'm glad people are rediscovering or discovering her for the first time and she's finally getting the appreciation she deserves. Her talent is enormous and she has put out some great music consistently since she won AI. I feel like a lot of people sleep on her but she's one of the best singers out there. Her Meaning of Life album didn't get the love it deserved and it's amazing you should definitely give a listen. Even her song, "I Dare You," which she sang in different languages with singers from different parts of the world and then did a version with all of them, through Zoom on her show, and KILLED IT!
Anyhoo, his performance gives me chills from head to toe. She is so vocally gifted and criminally underrated. I've seen her live so many times and she's EVEN better live. As a fan also since Idol, it’s crazy the amount of people who are just discovering that golden voice as of late. It surprises us when people think she had a long time away, no really the only time she was gone was when she had her kids, and that was only a few months each time. She’s always been doing things otherwise the last two decades. She’s way too driven to disappear for years at a time. I think her show is giving her exposure she didn’t have before (along with the Voice), since it started I’ve seen so many people say they didn’t know she was such a good singer lol. Where have you been? Lol I don’t know why people sleep on her, she’s one of the best out there. I’ve loved all her albums and she’s put out many. Meaning of Life was fantastic, one of my favorites. The last few years have been scarce of albums (until the new Christmas one), probably because the Voice and her show, but she still put out some singles in between MOL and WCCA (such as I Dare You). She’ll release another album when the time is right, shouldn’t be too long of a wait though. She teased a couple projects that she said she’s been asked for on her last Insta live, that has me curious. I’m so happy with the path she’s been on since Idol and I want more people to appreciate that stunning voice of hers.
She sang it’s quiet uptown for Hamilton, it was a more emotional performance compared to this and also sang All I Ask with Josh Groban which was full opera
All I Ask of You is NOT opera. It's not even light opera/operetta; it is musical theatre. Phantom is a musical, not an opera. There are massive differences in the style.

I have always loved Kelly and she does a particularly good rendition of this song. Another good rendition of this song is done by Lucy Thomas (17), Lucy's path is mainly musical theater. She is British was the lead in the musical 'Rosie'. She also covers songs from 'Cats' and does a beautiful job on 'Somewhere' and 'Hallelujah'.
I believe that Lucy, Angelina Jordan, and Danyelia Tuleshova are the future of the female side of the music industry.

Have you heard of the Norwegian singer and national treasure Sissel? She is considered one of the world's top crossover sopranos and has a phenomenal voice. I feel like this song is a mix of musical theater & pop. I think the only reason vocal riffs would take away from the song is if they were being done throughout the whole song, but I don’t think throwing a couple in here & there detracts from the song at all or the message as long as it’s done right. It’s all in how the person singing feels in the moment & how they emote the song.
I think Kelly Clarkson sounded great though! Especially for it not being rehearsed & a condensed version of the song. My favorite version of this song is by Shoshana Bean. She stayed musical theater, had some vocal riffs & it also had a pop feel. To me it did anyway.
Nothing wrong with it at all 😊 I mentioned it in the section I did because that’s sometimes a popular area to add and create a new riff - whilst i’m all for making it unique to t he singer, we don’t want it to detach from the story 😊 obviously pop - go for it! If it’s a standalone concert, go for it

Hi Jennifer, as much as I love Kelly and her music, she has a tendency to over sing and over power the notes which happened in this performance a few times, where as 17 year old Lucy Thomas Music does a flawless performance of She Used To Be Mine which she recorded when she was 14. Lucy is from the U.K. and was a semi- finalist on the 2018 Voice Kids U.K. Her CZcams music channel is phenomenal, just about every video has reached or surpassed 1 million views, Her fan base is huge and global so she is well on her way to becoming a global household name....

It's okay but not really Kelly's genre. For emotional connection, I still prefer Sara'a or Kat's interpretations. If you haven't yet, check Morrisette' version.
