    Thank you for a very good review 😊
    I really like that you are doing this review after 45 dives and had it for more than a year. This is so much more valuable than a review from someone who has just done a singe trydive on it.
    The point of moving the gauges to the front to keep the heading right is a valuable insight.

      Thank you! I hope you enjoyed the review. Today I dove my Blacktip in the Colorado River below Hoover dam, and that was quite an experience. The current makes compass navigation semi useless, so it's definitely a challenge. Dive safe!

    Hey I have the same model and I love it, watched the whole video in hopes you would cover your lights mount, thanks.

      Hi Mahmoud. Thanks for watching! All of the strap mounts with the metal pieces on my scooter are Dive Xras "minimalist mounts". They have since discontinued this item. I'm a big RAM mount fan, so it would pretty easy to make something similar with a tank strap and some clever RAM mounts. Dive safe!

    Thanks for such a great review.
    Would you suggest that i get familiar with a doubles tank configuration before i even consider getting a DPV ?

      Hi Andrew. Glad you liked the video! I'd like to do an updated video now that I've been diving my Blacktip for a couple of years, but I don't think I'll ever get around to it. The good news is, I still love the scooter, and it's just been amazing to have. Regarding your question about diving doubles before you get the scooter - I would say that if you're already planning to switch to doubles or side mount, then do that first. I say that so you can master your buoyancy and the different diving techniques before you introduce the scooter. On that note - I would never recommend a scooter for a new tech diver. I would think you would want at least 50+ technical dives to really become comfortable before you started adding a scooter to the mix. If you're doing true deep technical dives, it's all too easy to get yourself into a pickle, and a scooter just adds to the trouble you could get yourself into. If you're considering doubles vs side mount: I dove my doubles for over 10 years before I switched to side mount, and the switch was mostly so that I could be a shade more self-sufficient considering I always dive alone. Hope that helps a bit. Thanks for watching and dive safe.

    Thanks for the great video. I just bought my BT travel so pretty excited to take it for a ride. You mentioned the ram mount. I can find the ram mount arms on Amazon. I could not find the ram plate with the velcro/strap you have on your scooter. What is it and where can I get one? Thanks.

      Hello! Glad you liked the video. Here are some of the RAM parts I use:
      *RAP-B-201U (RAM 1" ball double socket arm)
      *RAP-B-201U-A (RAM 1" ball double short socket arm)
      *RAP-B-202U (RAM 1" ball on round mounting plate)
      *RAM-B-238U (RAM 1" ball on diamond shaped mounting plate)
      Dive safe!

      I just re-read your comment, and saw that you were looking for the base mounting plate that is held on with staps. These were from Dive X, and they have since discontinued them. They were called "Dive X Minimalist Universal Camera & Light Scooter Mount". If I had to do it again, I would just use a standard deco tank 2" strap and pop rivet or use screws with bolts to attach a RAM mount, or use a DGX Premium Single Tank Adapter with the 2" staps. Visit Dive Gear Express for the adapters I'm referring to. Thanks again for watching, and dive safe.

    When you show yourself under way with the scooter are you on speed 4 as well? Thx! Great review!

    • @missionscuba
      @missionscuba  Před rokem +1

      Yes sir. Speed 4 in those videos. There's a possibility it was 3, but I'm usually cruising at 4, so it would not have been any higher than that. Thanks for watching! Dive safe.

    Nice review! You did mention the Dewalt 15ah, I'm considering them if they fit but I'm not sure if this would affect the buoyancy, any ideas? Is yours neutrally buoyant without adding any weights inside? Regards

    • @missionscuba
      @missionscuba  Před rokem

      Good question! I don't know for sure, but I would think weight wise, you would be fine with the 15ah batteries. Even with a compass, dive computer, two GoPros, two aluminum mounts, and two lights mounted to my scooter, I still have a considerable amount of pellet weight and both stainless steel weight plates loaded in the nosecone, and that's in freshwater. I often have something additional hooked to my scooter when I'm on a "special" dive, and even when my scooter is heavy or weighted funny, it still travels well, so my thoughts are the 15ah batteries wouldn't negatively affect anything. Thanks for watching, and dive safe!

      Hi Craig. Good question! They are the wide angle handheld video lights from DGX. Inexpensive and very effective! Thanks for watching and dive safe.

    Thank you for the review , is there a link for the mount arm and plate?

    • @missionscuba
      @missionscuba  Před 2 lety +1

      Hello. The velco strap with aluminum mount was a product from Dive Extras, and they no longer sell them. I'm suspecting it's due to covid supply chain issues, but I honestly have no idea. Dive Safe.
