  • The CB Hornet 160R is a premium 160cc motorcycle from the Japanese two-wheeler giant, Honda. Based on the CB Unicorn 160, this one is a lot more muscular & stylish. How well does it fare going up against the Suzuki Gixxer & the Yamaha FZ Fi? Have a look!

      True and here fuel is costly too so these bikes gives around 130 mpg which is the main selling point

    • @dhavald4359
      @dhavald4359 Před 8 lety +79

      reason is we can't go over 70 kmph in and around cities here. even if road is empty you can't due to elephant ass size speed breakers everywhere at every 50 or 100 meters.

    Riding hornet for past 6 months. Tested both bikes before going for Hornet.Coming down from pulsar 200 ns, can't compare these 150s with the 200ns, but hornet and gixxer have classy engine and built quality than the pulsar. I personally liked Hornet for wider seat for pillion, gorgeous looks and a mature performance. The only why I didn't go for gixxer because of its dimensions it looked smaller than me, and pillion comfort which is more important in my case because i mostly have a pillion behind me otherwise no complaints nice engaging bike. Till date i don't have any problems as mentioned by others pls use specified Full Synthetic oil for better experience. Those who are complaining of performance on hornet should go past 6k rpm, there you'll see the real character of this engine.

    Hornet's sale is more than twice the sales of Gixxer not because of the preference but more widespread network of Honda across India. thats y it will have more resale value too.

      Though i personally own a gixxer and i do not live in a very big city.... We do have a suzuki showroom here.... N that means there r probably showrooms in every city in india... But yes... People have less trust in suzuki as a bike manufacturer... That's the reason for less sale.... (ab uncle log ko kha pata gsxr 1000 wagarah ka but shine ka sun ke honda sahi lagti unko)😁😁

    • @SuyashKaul
      @SuyashKaul Před 8 lety +2

      +Vinayak Dubey No they haven't. 1 showroom per city isn't enough though. I saw many cities having multiple showrooms of Honda and some towns have too where there is no sign of Suzuki. Yes they have to build up trust but Honda gained it much earlier and have a much broader range of bikes than Suzuki worldwide

    people can live with any 150cc bike. the one and very important point to consider is how good is after sales service in local area nearest to home. so the review or survey must be done of service stations and customer satisfaction.

      There is no need for that.IMHO,Hornet is a better buy than those two.But the arrival of the RTR 200 has made all these bike to seem like poor value for money because the RTR 200 costs only a bit higher but is better in everyway.

    • @somnathbiswas4097

    • @ZR1Gamer
      @ZR1Gamer Před 8 lety

      +Somnath Biswas The 220F used to be the only Pulsar I liked and that too,I liked it very much.Its a bit old in its tooth now.Bajaj may discontinue it at any moment.The AS200 is technically advanced to the 220F but again,The Fairing Rattles within sometime like every other Bajaj Bike - Poor Quality Control

    • @ZR1Gamer
      @ZR1Gamer Před 8 lety

      +Ethan Hilfer Faster isn't everything m8.You just don't seem to understand.Yeah sure,The RTR 200 rivals a 220F looking at technology on Paper,But in real life ? See how competitive it is with the Pulsars.The RTR is a better handler,Easier to flick between corners,Waay better Build Quality and Fit and Finish than Bajaj,A proper Dual Channel ABS is coming soon.Just because the NS is a second quicker to 100 Km\h mark doesn't mean anything since you just don't wanna take Naked bikes out on the Highways but wanna take it to track with very little straights and lots of Twisties.I t matters in the City and the low end torque and quick throttle response is the beauty of this great bike.

    This seems like a paid review by Suzuki...
    I have Gixer and Hornet both, Gixer i would say is kind of a wannabe sports bike but stil in the 150cc segment, whereas Honda Hornet is very well done smooth Bike with a heavily refined engine...
    I also have a old Honda Dazzler which has clocked more than 80000 kms and still going strong..Just want to say Honda Engine rocks...
    Usually in this segment people look for trust and maturity in bikes which Honda offers well enough, Suzuki is still yet to prove itself...
    Gixer is good but still i would prefer Hornet over Gixer..
    Those who are saying Honda does not launch premium bikes in india, just want to know what is CBR 250 and CBR 650?
    At this range people does not look for high end machines rather they look for fuel effeciency and reliability and trust so Honda and Gixer both are good.

      ride it first and see for your self ... if you want sportbike feel than maybe gixer is your bike... but this is 150cc segment people usually go for durability and maturity as mostly people who buy bikes in this segment are usually daily commuters..... if you want oomph factor in this range then there are also bikes like apache rtr 200 or 180 which i guess is the best bike for maybe 10000 bucks more that these bikes...

      You are welcome. I am teacher, age 35, not so adventurous and hardly race with anyone in city traffic. I am keeping in mind to buy Hornet, Gixxer, Apache 180, Yamaha FZ and Xtreme Sports. Done a lot of survey of reviewes but still getting confused. Though Hornet is the one I have lost my heart to. I would appreciate your suggestion keeping in mind my profession. Thanks in advance.

      At present I have been using Hero Honda Ambition 135 since last 14 years with meter reading 4.5 lac and it is still giving me 52kmpl mileage. Engine is still better. I want to upgrade to a better looking and performing bike as I am not going to buy bike after every 3 to 5 years. I am confused between Gixxer, Hornet, FZ and Xtreme Sports. Looking at my profession (teaching, and I dont race with anyone anywhere) and daily needs (40 km dailuy run), I would like to listen to your opinion for buying a good 150-180 bike. Thanks in advance.

    Hornet is best because I owned it in 2017 to now. Low maintenance. Good looking. And strong body and chassis. No big issue with this bike and average is 49 to 53 in eco style driving. And 35 to 39 in racing style driving and put it on higher rpm.like 7 to 9 thousand rpm...But after all i love this bike.👍👍👍👍👍🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️🏍️

      None taken, we are all here to learn. As far as the Hornet goes, the brief was to design a stylish commuter with that ultra reliable engine. Looks like Honda got it spot on with this one!

    Dear powerdrift team
    You guys are the best video reviewers of bikes and cars on the planet. Now, that is a bold statement, but I still find it an understatement to the kind of work that you guys do. Never have I ever waited so eagerly for a video from any youtube channel as yours. Hell, I dont wait for new porn so eagerly!
    Your videos
    1.) The best screenplay - ( and I mean arm hair raising, pulse pausing, leg paralysing(( coz you dont wanna move anywhere until the end of the video)), pupil dilating)
    2.) The best in-video music- now that's a game changer, suddenly a good video becomes great. It adds that much more soul to it.
    3.) The best script- and that is not just words but I also mean the delivery of words, the crispness and clarity of your presenters is just brilliant, just that when Sharan is presenting it I have to use voice clarity mode..:P
    So if a Non-Indian friend asks about bikes in India, I gladly introduce them to your channel. I particularly said Non-Indian friend to emphasise that your videos, I'd feel proud to show to the world and have the smug on my face, yep that's made in India.
    Serious curiosity- Have you guys considered making an actual biking movie? I find you guys bigger than youtube.
    P.S: My Rohan Albal, you Sir are a delight to watch reviewing cars and bikes. A humble request, can we have more videos presented by you please.

    @ Powerdrift - Some batches of hornets had a faulty carb, symptoms include the engine making noise first once u engage the throttle before the bike actually accelerates, lack of power till 6000 rpm, and heavy lag between 5000-6000 rpm. Honda has acknowledged this issue and affected customers can replace the carb under warranty. Are u guys sure you tested a well conditioned bike? I am a big fan of your reviews btw, Cheers!!!
