Just watched the 4k version, I completely agree with your review, the 4k version is worth the upgrade from the bluray version. I watch my movies on a 4k projector on 130" screen, and the extra detail the 4k provides is awesome. Robocop is my favorite film of all time, its great to see it get the respect it deserves with this release.
It’s true. It’s one of the best looking 4k scans from 80s movie. So well done. Looks even better that when I saw it in the theater.

Ngl, I don't understand your affection for RC3 (no hate), however I agree the complete trilogy should get the same treatment, for completionists/collectors' sakes if nothing else.

If you want to stick with what you have, which I respect, decline any opportunity to watch a 4k copy on a quality 4k TV. It's hard to go back.

Hey dude. Love this channel. I’m a massive movie fan: just not too tech savvy when it comes too all the specs. I have a ton of blu-rays, Robocop included, built up over the years. I’ve not yet purchased a 4K blu Ray player, and I suppose what I’m asking is: Is it worth me buying a 4K player and replacing every single one of my blu rays.
I seen your American Werewolf In London and Godfather 4K comparisons, which I own, and they looked superb. It’s just such a wrench (financially) to replace my whole collection. Help!!
A decent player will upscale the picture so there's no point replacing everything, I've recently bought a 4k player myself and trying to limit to old favourites and 3 hour epics
American werewolf is great in 4k, I can't justify the price of the godfather collection i'll wait for a sale 😂
For many people's eyes, especially non-techies, HDR is the bigger visible difference rather than the resolution bump.
I mainly replace consistent favorites. Paul Verhoeven films, Tarantino films, James Wan films, Nightmare on Elm Street (no 4k up to this point), Labyrinth, my wife's favorite movies (which is an excuse for me tbh), etc.
Most blu-rays I have I don't upgrade unless I see a 4k copy for really cheap, like
I'm new to this stuff, but do you use the same TV with same picture mode (and settings/calibrated or not) and the saple player to do the comparison?
I have a 65" LED and a 84" OLED with HDR and Dolby Vision and the 65" My player is Sony X800M2, on my 84" My player is Panasonic DP-UB9000. I keep the settings the same with every movie I review. I don't change the settings.

Movies lately has been much focused around 4K HDR DNR etc.. its so much technical stuff going on around the movies that I focus more about THAT instead of enjoying the movies like I was before. How are you watching movies, can you enjoy them without thinking to much about all these stuff??
I thknk its 50/50. Ill find out about all the technonal aspects and then i watch to enjoy the movie. Unless it's something that looks terrible like T2 or Goodfellas. And if I'm reviewing I'll dive deep into all the technical aspects.

I wouldn't say Amazon is really cheaper. But physical media I do buy is Amazon and Diabolikdvd.com

I'm still struggling to find the right copy of the 4KUHD version. Various retailers show different prices for the exact same version, but Amazon for sure shows the 4KUHD at around $50. Does that sound about right?

On apple tv which is a 4k release but not hdr will there be a huge difference to require getting a the 4k hdr disc?
Yes HDR is High Dynamic Range it enhances the colors with more vibraint brighter colors, deeper black levels, much more detail and depth. HDR makes a big difference and impact.

Honestly, the HDR makes a bigger obvious difference than the resolution bump.

Everyone's seen the blu-ray version, you actually need to tweak it a bit to get better clarity...but the 4K version is preset for you :)

Seems to me there is a consensus forming that this is worth an upgrade if you have an older BD copy, but maybe not if you own the 4K-scanned BD Arrow did two or three years ago. I haven’t seen the 4K personally though.
If you watched the review, I did compare it to the Arrow 4K scan bluray. That's what this video is and it's fantastic.

A versão blu-ray de 2019 está mais bonita esse relançamento de blu-ray 4k ficou muito mais granulação do que a edição passada esses blu-ray 4k são uma mera conversão porca na minha opinião os únicos remaster que realmente ficarám fantásticos foram o terminator 2 4k que ficou com uma imagem espetacular e predator de resto tudo lixo esses relançamentos e conversões em 4k mão desenvolvidas etc
Na minha opinião, só aumentaram o contraste, nada mais....
O blu ray original ainda bem melhor eles não retiraram o granulado dessa versão em 4k toda deformada eu ainda prefiro o blu ray mesmo já que aqui no Brasil essas edições em 4k não tem relançamento

Universal is just giving movies to shout/scream factory to remaster because they are lazy
