Lincoln Project releases attack ad on Sen. Josh Hawley

  • An online petition declared Missouri Senator Josh Hawley "needs to be removed from office," and thousands signed on in agreement.
This follows a chaotic scene at the United States Capitol the same day Hawley led the effort in the Senate to reject Joe Biden's electoral victory, due to unsubstantiated claims of election insecurity.
The petition was taken off MoveOn.org without explanation by Thursday evening, but only after it gained more than 20,00 signatures. That makes it about as consequential, legally speaking, as if it was still available, said St. Louis University Law professor Anders Walker.
“A United States senator cannot be recalled. Only a vote in the Senate to expel a senator can remove an acting senator,” he said. “If people want to get rid of Senator Hawley, they're going to have to vote in 2024,” he said.

    • @InspiredScience

While I agree that his attorney would advise him as you stated -- I think there is a most likely reason...
As with the majority of everything Hawley claims, he has no intention of backing it up. Like his pals Cruz, MJT, Boebert -- they make inflammatory claims with no basis in fact -- claims that divide people and hurt our nation -- all for their own political gain. They care far more about themselves, than they ever cared about our nation.

As for the Democratic Party, no they aren’t perfect. Nobody is. We all know that. In fact I am an independent and have voted across party lines. But over the last two decades, at least the Democratic Party has held it together for our nation despite all the misinformation and propaganda coming from Fox and the right wing.
As we all just witnessed, the radicalization of that base is interested in nothing less but a white supremacist take over.
Go through all of the footage from those right wing “news” organizations over the last two decades. You’ll see nothing but a lot of “wink, wink”, regarding their xenophobic projections.
And in some cases not even a wink. Trump merely spoke in blatant terms that excited that base which is why we saw what happened.
Thanks to the Internet, people are reinforcing their own little rabbit holes.
Out of curiosity I checked the water marks on some of the videos coming from the Capitol insurrection that news organizations had to pay for and you are led straight to white supremacist websites filled with all kinds of idiotic conspiracies.
What we are seeing is people who are uninformed, have very little life experience and continuously reinforce their prejudices.
