Beautiful perfomance! As a native speaker of German I am always a bit amused about people with other mothertongues trying to speak or sing in German but you did it really well!
@MikeInPlano Its no typo ;) It means: "There is indeed no one else, who could fight for us, than you our god." If it would be "Er ist doch ja" it would mean: "He is indeed no one else, who could fight for us, than you our god", which would make less sence.
Very nice. Of course I , being German, also noticed the mispronunciation of some words, but I'm pretty sure if native speakers of English would listen to our gospel choir singing English songs, they would note as many mistakes in them:-)
@Haniel93: Sic. "Es ist" means "It is" or "There is" like "It is me". And I am a bit amused about the pronounciation, too, especially the word "streiten". "st" is pronounced like "sht", and a rolling r is obligate to every singer, even when singing english texts. :-) But the intonation is very good.
Some large mispronunciations in the German but otherwise nice. Still, though, those mistakes make this sound very amateur. "Streiten" has a "sh" sound at the beginning. "Ist" is not "east", but, well, exactly what it looks like. Also, that IS a typo. Note how the other two verses use "es", not "er", and it's only that one edition that has the error.
Why are people so selfish to bring young children to concerts and let them yabble and disrupt the whole thing- when my kids were small I would not do that- its unfair on people listening
Hi I'm the uploader and am also in the choir and I'm replying to you 10 years later. This choir was absolutely formed by working class people and when our families came from out in the country to see us they didn't exactly know concert etiquette.
I love this song. It touches me so deep. Great performance!

Oops, you missed the typo in the score: "Es ist doch ja..." should be "Er ist doch ja.."
Top Performance. Please invest in a tripod for the camera!

This choir was composed of 90% undergrads that weren't studying music.
mikelnplano, this is german grammatik. "es" is correct
