The Tasmanian pattern Axe , In my honest opinion is one of the worlds best Firewood splitting access join me while I restore one in the Bunker and take it for a run

Who needs Netflix when we have Buckin' Billy Flicks? what a technique ! I just discovered your videos literally a few days ago....and what a joy they are!! - I am an instant subscriber and wish I'd discovered them in lockdown. So excited to work my way through your videos now. Don't ever stop making them pls! I could watch you split wood all day mate! This particular video was pure entertainment and you are a man of so many talents Billy!! All the very best from North Wales, UK. Cymru am byth !!!
Sometimes when you sit down and actually think about the different tricks you do and it can be hard to explain. I think it would be hard for anyone to not be appreciative of all the things you have shared with us that are truly helpful and beneficial! Love to you and the family buckin❤️
Hi Billy Ray, I have started to split fire wood for my home and I was looking on U tube on how to split wood plus using a chainsaw than I found your channel which has helped me out a lot. Thank you very much for your knowledge, experience and expertise. Keep making videos 😁 Thank you Vinesh Singh Australia
Love your 'flick' method. You have this correct in every way. I'm trying to teach my boy that last minute flick which does the job and makes it so much easier if only people could catch on to the strike. ' Backing off' from the sides rather than going straight through the middle is also something some don't get. They'd cut there work rate in half if they could learn both. Thanks buddy. Hope you are fit and healthy and stay that way.
Duuuuude. What a great harmonica player you are!!! I love your feel. I used to play at church with harmonica player John Popper. You are fabulous and have wonderful feel. I love your videos. I’m a lifetime axe junkie as well.
Good morning mr buckin thank you for all the positive vibes you put out there and much love to you and your family and friends stay strong and stay safe from jethro
Thank you for the wonderful videos. Little buckin is cool lol. No one makes axes with as much heart as you. If everyone could find something they genuinely want to put their heart and attention into I think we would have a lot more soldiers of kindness. Troubles lead even the wisest folks astray and we need something to pull us back. That something is love. Love of family, love of your work, love of your hobbies and friends.
Thanks Buckin great to see ya brother. That's a dandy Tazzie another great one for the collection. Hello to the newcomers and everyone in this Army of love. Stand up and Buck it does a body good.love it brother.🌲❤🌲✊
Fearfully and wonderfully made!!!!!‘love ya Breda still spreading kindness like it’s butter on hot biscuits!!!!!!‘so gratefully for the Most High God lead me to your channel! thank you again for being you. Who is amazing!!!!
Shi-claang.... The other day i musta said that about 50 times, had a little chuckle each time. Thanks Billy for your hard work and friendly humor. The Buckin army of kindness grows with careful small steps of hard work. Be safe, be kind, love wins.
Hi Buckin! I'm a new subscriber and 30 year BC Forest Technologist vet. I love anything wood related! Just acquired a forested 40 acre property with a remote cabin and will be doing some road building and a few patch cuts over the next few years as I move into retirement. MAPLE LEAF UP
Thanks for the 550 cord under the ax head. On the ax handle you "cannot hammer" consider holding the handle vertical and cut the bottom of the handle to be flat with the floor/ ground or place it flat and tap the top. A pity they used screws on the ax head when they could have used wood shavings small wedges around any slight gaps to eliminate "gaps". One thing I learn to teach juniors and a "wild ax" ricochet place a shorter chopping roll (safety, mod from Crazy Russian Channel) in front of target chopping block, if ax skips or missed the shorter wood catches it. Glad I finally solved it. Your Figure 8- mine mod comes down and I "flick" my wrist to the right. Keeping my swings consistent, with the "flick" that will follow the grain pattern of the wood.
Any episode where buckin pulls out his harmonica, it gonna be a good episode. Billy Buckin, you inspired me to take up the harmonica, still in my first week but already improved.
Hey buckin, this is a beautiful axe for australia. Congrats MACCA! Thanks for your superchattin! I like lil buckin, he shoud wearing odems axe😉 Greetings to all buckin army.
Thanks for the video. Great explanation on the figure 8 movement. I was getting the beginning of the movement on my own (just trying out of instinct), I look forward to do the finishing move as you show. Take care. Juan
Thanks Buckin Billy Ray. You right God don’t make any mistakes! God Bless You and all of Your Family! 👍❤️ This old World needs God more than ever! Love You and Your Family Buckin!👍❤️
The figure of eight thing you talked about, i have done ever since i was around 13 splitting logs in the garden, its great for those who cant use full strength to get a good swing in, it can also be combined with a good flick for a mean split
I did a revisit on your vid, I always pick up more info. I noted your body mechanics and I noted we actually do the same. I too start horizontal ax(e) go up come straight down and flick "outboard". I found that with twisted juniper the double bit and "slimmer geometry" follow the grain to split the wood. My son in law used a hammer wedge but I prefer the ax(e).
Mannnn youre are so awesome sir. im a new viewer and by god its a pleasure to have this channel , Billy youre awesome man stay awesome and lets spread some love in this world , Jack form the UK
Enjoy watching your show watched your chain shaping inspired me too learn to sharpen a chain started out just cutting up some of a stump wond up removing the stump by the end of the day got pretty good at it (sharpening a chain saw chain ) thank u
As a Tasmanian I love my axe currently splitting a big gum tree 6 foot at the base and it does not split easy strait grain but it’s tight. Love your stuff man
This dude is entertaining for sure. Seems like a good and genuine guy. His technique and knowledge is the best I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot but this dude is heads and heels above even me! Lol. Although his technique is stellar, my favorite part about this video is when he starts splitting in the Incredible Hulk David Banner era shirt. Love that. Lol. Stay golden pony boy.
Buckin', you arguing with your bench buddy Little Buckin' is seriously funny, and that doll won! I treated some of my various tool handles today with your fave Watco oil, and I love the finish. Thanks!
When I was a kid my Dad taught me do that flick thing you do to open up a piece a bit more on the strike. He probably learned it from one of the old hands at the family's float logging camp. I've never really been satisfied with a leather collar on the axe handle and tape doesn't quite do the trick either, but that paracord looks promising. Thanks for sharing that.
Lovely morning to you all people. A Nice video from himself to watch when Norway waking up. That tassie looking great. And so do you my friend. Have a great day. Mort

I haven't tried every axe know to man but of the five different axes I've used the x27 has done the best for splitting. Price is Right to. Haven't used that tazzi pattern yet. I'll keep an eye out for one.
