  • The Driven Halo Levers are made here in the US and the quality is excellent. When I first removed the levers from the package I couldn't tell that they were a folding lever because the tolerance of the folding joint was so good I did not see it at first. Halo levers are 3/4 length, folding and fully adjustable. They are available for most common sportbikes now.

    The lever adjustment is critical for safe and effective, efficient operation of the bike particularly in emergency situation, the first thing I do at the earliest opportunity when I get a new bike is sort the angles and lever spans and the rear brake pedal too. Nice to see that being addressed.

    I cannot stress enough to stay away from mzs or other knockoffs. Been there and done that. You get what you pay for. Your controls are the most used parts on your bike for the most part so make sure you get a decent set or stick with oem.

      If you can not afford the quality aftermarket stuff then best to stick with the OEM parts that came with the bike for sure. - Van

    I love the folding and the numbered adjustments but I still prefer full length, very nice levers though

      I like standard length brake, and shorty clutch.

    Good idea to lube the clutch cable before attaching the new lever.... On Chinese levers, I’ve had them on my last 3 bikes and never had a problem at all - I think the quality is good. This included a low side on my Fireblade that snapped the clip on and only grazed the lever. I would consider paying more for better quality but what annoys me most here in the UK is when I see the same Chinese levers given a brand name and sold for 3 or 4 times the price by a UK retailer. I like the levers you have fitted but we dont seem to have as much choice here over the pond.

    I'm looking for replacement levers for my Buell 1125r.
    Easy to find cheap ones, not as easy to find good quality ones.
    I bought some MZS ones a while back then saw your video. Also noticed they might be missing some parts. Oh well, cost me like $20. They're decent looking chunks of metal. I'll glue them to a wall or something.

    Hey STG! I just bought these levers and I’m a bit concerned. They are listed as R6 levers on your website and on my invoice and of course in your video, you do have them installed on an R6. However, the actual manufacturer information that comes in the packaging lists the clutch lever as fitting on a 2005-2015 R6, and the brake lever is listed as fitting a 2015-2017 R1. Before I open the packaging any further, I’m concerned that there could be a fitment issue. Have you heard this before?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Před 5 lety +3

      You are good to go, the fitment on the website is correct. The 17 and up R6 uses the same brake lever as the 15 and up R1. The clutch lever for the R6 fits 05-19. Apologies for the confusion. - Van

    I am confused as to why folding levers fold up rather than down. I've low-sided many times and my clutch and brake levers always get bent downward, not upward, with scratches on the upper outside edge of the lever ends rather than the underside. I realize that sounds counterintuitive since the bottom edge of the levers face the ground when you're riding but when I've gone down hard enough for the handlebars to touch the pavement, the front wheel has usually turned into the fall slightly, causing the top edge of the lever to touch the ground first.
    Do you sell any levers that fold down? Thx!

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Před 3 lety

      If the levers folded down they could fold down out of the way when you reach for the lever. This would be less than amazing. - Van

    I feel like with the aerodynamic hole cutouts the lever might brake under heavy use?? I would be nervous about that at least.

      @sportbiketrackgear  Před rokem +1

      These have been used on levers for several years now and I have never seen nor heard of this happening. When manufacturers design parts like this they do testing to ensure the lever will hold up. - Van

    Hi! So whats the idea behind a "folding lever"? Say you have a bad day and low side... if the end of the lever touches the ground, it folds up to "maybe" prevent it from breaking and or breaking the cable, etc too?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Před 6 lety

      For sure the main reason is to prevent the lever from breaking in a tip over (really depends on the crash). IMO most will replace the levers on the bike so why not add the folding option and take the added benefit. They also add a certain cool factor which does not hurt at all. - Brian Van

    I'm looking at these levers for my 2019 MT 07. However, they only show a silver adjuster in the picture and red in this video. Is the red available for the MT 07?

    • @sportbiketrackgear
      @sportbiketrackgear  Před 6 lety

      This is all about personal preference IMO. This Driven lever is a 3/4 lever, in between a shorty and a standard length levers. You also have levers like the PSR GP that offer adjustable length. What is the make and model of your bike? - Van
