    Hello, on my G3 the display flashes randomly, sometimes frequently sometimes once every few minutes. Do you think the problem is with the display or somewhere else? I would be very sorry if after the display replacement the problem persisted. Thank you in advance for your reply.

      @@_kimutai look whether display is 30 pin or 40 pin. And check for size.
      30pin to 40 or 40 to 30pin converters also available if yours one is not matching with other one

    Hello screensurgeon, question for you: I have this model HP EliteBook 840 G3, mine seems to have a classic backlight failure, in that the screen appears black unless I shine a flashlight at it, at which point I can see the windows but they're very dark. My question: would replacing the screen as you showed in this video resolve my backlight issue, or is the backlight a separate component on this model? Thanks in advance for your feedback.

      It could be a blown fuse on the motherboard

    • @haraldschurr1035
      @haraldschurr1035 Před 5 lety

      in general it should solve your problem because the backlighting is integral part of the screen and there is only one cable and one connector for data and for powering the backlighting.

      I have the exact same issue. 840 g3. With no. Back light issue. Same lcd on other g3. Work's fine. Tested other working lcd from a g4. On this g3. No back light . Problem is the mother board fuse or mobo inverter IC. Or mobo. Lid close switch. Any help finding the fuse or close lid switch on this g3??

    • @haraldschurr1035
      @haraldschurr1035 Před 5 lety

      Yes it is quite similar.
      But be careful concerning the resolution of the original screen in comparison to the resolution of the replacement screen. I was told by my replacement screen supplier the following: if the original resolution was 1366x768 and you want to upgrade to 1600x900 or to 1920x1080 you need a different video cable which makes the swap much more complicated because you have to replace the video cable.

    i got confused. you mentioned that the resolution is interchangeable? but your site shows "Important Note: Please check the native screen resolution of your laptop before purchasing. As this replacement screen are for laptops that has a resolution of 1366x768." what does it mean?

    • @MegaXtc11
      @MegaXtc11 Před 5 lety +3

      It doesn't matter, if upgrading from WXGA to FHD you can use the same cable, different story is if you're trying to install 1400p screen, in that case you will need a 40 pin 4-lane eDP cable (FHD and lower uses 30-pin 2 lane cable)

    • @haraldschurr1035

      But MegaXtc11 seems to know better.

    Hey so, i can pay you as much as to point to $200 if you can please fix my Hewlett-Packard HP EliteBook 840 G1 Laptop screen! Ive had this computer fpr a while now and the only issue about it is that it cannot sometimes connect to the internet leading to the requirment of repeated restarting which i don't really mind. The screen is damaged and has cracks and has chuncks of blackness similar to dead pixels in a way, and it is very hard to use in this condition. If you can repair this i can mail it to you. Also this may be a bad time to ask due to the current virus outbreak. I hope you find this and respond, and thank you.
