How to Kill Thrips in your Grow Room

..Just sprayed with Neem/Soap! Some tips: Neem oil does not mix easily at all. Mix the Neem and the Soap separately with a little water first, then add that mixture to your spray water (get a pressure sprayer!) and shake up well and shake again just before you spray.
Start by spraying the whole crop from the top downwards and then do the soil and undersides of leaves etc etc. Seeing as I'm two weeks into flowering and don't think I can spray Neem on them anymore, I am waiting for a Spinosad spray to turn up and plan to watch them closely and perhaps spray with that in a weeks time! Best of luck.
One other thing, pests and spraying are stressful to the plant. Stress can cause other problems like hermaphroditism etc. So in all other ways treat your babies well. Bio-Silicon is a great extra to add to your feeding regime, it will protect to a degree from stress and also makes for better stronger plants. Keep a look out for male flowers after week 2 of flowering..
Update: I have seen my plants after I sprayed them with Neem/Soap, they all look fine! There are some Thrips still there which are alive. Apparently, Neem takes a while to work, they ingest the Neem from eating the leaves and then they are effected and their life cycle gets broken down. Update again: After spraying three times in 9 days it looks like they are all gone! I will keep an eye out for more. My Spinosad has turned up so I will likely use that instead later in flowering although I did now read on a reputable wesbite that you can spray Neem/Soap until week 5 or 6 of flowering.. All the best.
Update 2: Now, a couple of weeks after spraying three times, I am starting to see a few Thrip again. I think the thing is, you will never get them all so it might be best to do three sprays in 7 or 8 days and then one a week until the 5th or 6th week of flowering and then spray Spinosad! I am going to spray a couple of times again with Neem/Soap, they are just at 5 weeks into flower! Better the devil you know! After this when they come back I'll use my spinosad! By the way, they plants are looking really nice and dark green and healthy.. apart from the previous Thrip damage! I think the extra trichomes/oil on the surface of the leaves will also help to put off the Thrips.. what do you think?
Update 3: I sprayed once with a Spinosad solution (at 5 weeks into 12/12) and I cannot see any Thrips now at all and the plants seem totally fine about the spraying. :)
Update 4: A week later I can still see no Thrips at all. I would say Spinosad is good at killing Thrips and also there is no oil or soap so I would feel safer using it later into flower. Basically, you will be spraying 999 parts water to 1 part soil bacteria and that's it! I was going to spray them again this morning but as I see no Thrips I didn't.. I will continue to check daily. At 6 weeks into flower now out of 9. Peace.
Update 5: 2 1/2 weeks after spraying with Spinosad I can still see no Thrips and there's only 1 1/2 weeks to go till harvest so I don't think I'll be spraying again. I think Spinosad is very effective. I guess this may be my last update then.. it's been emotional.. (((hug))) The moral of this story is: Get some Monterey Garden Spray (with Spinosad)!
Update 6!!! Several weeks later! I have grown 2 new seasons (half way through) in those two tents that were infected with Thrips and there has been no sign of Thrips at all! And, I didn't even clean them out!! Naughty me! I did give them a spray inside when I was spraying the weed before though. Peace.
Update 7: Months later and after having a couple of Thrip free crops, they are back. Spraying with Spinosad tomorrow so all will be okay soon.. I guess once you have the problem, it can return. I saw some marks on some lower fan leaves but didn't think much of it, I could have sprayed them a week ago if I had been more turned on to the idea of a possible return. Stay on the ball. God damn little f*****s... make the most of the time you have left fella's, you will be gone by the morning! (I have to wait until the end of the light cycle to spray!)..Perhaps a pre-emptive strike is in order from now on, one spray of the whole tent a few weeks into veg, either that or really look at the lower fan leaves every day or two! Peace.
One thing I realised this time around is that a Thrip infestation, even just the start of one can and will slow down your plants vegetaqtive process! Also, be careful when spraying the underside of your leaves not to spray your bulb, if it's on! Best to turn it off and use another light really. Out.

I’ve got thrips atm and I’ve been reading a lot of state agricultural extensions info about them all week and I’ve learned a few vital things, I thought you might benefit from as well-
A big thing is to alternate your methods of control. The life cycle of a thrips (both the plural and the singular form is thrips) is fast enough to develop resistance if you use the same thing twice in a row, so everything I see says to switch back and forth between neem oil and insecticide, and you’ll want to be anticipating the return and preemptively treating for that. The females don’t need a male to reproduce and they will go straight out of the pupal stage to laying eggs, so you’ve got to blast em the second you see them. The larval stage usually happens inside of a bud or a leaf terminal, inside a closed space where you can’t see them, where they feed and do major damage to your plant. then sometimes the nymph will fall out of the plant and pupate in the soil, so your foliar sprays will not kill them. They emerge a couple days later as a full grown adult and go straight to laying more eggs and eating new plant growth. They like drought stressed plants and ANY dead plant debris laying around in the area is a potential time bomb full of larva that will blow up every 6 to 14 days, which is why you want to clear that shit immediately and throw it into a sealed trash bag that you gtfo of your house. They can overwinter in plant soil or plant matter and re-emerge in the warmer weather. New growth is most likely where they are found if not in the bottom foliage, and for optimal efficacy you want to be treating your plants twice a day every 3 days or some version of this. They will absolutely destroy your plants. There’s a lot of info in the r/plantclinic subreddit and pretty much every local extension website out there you can find, but if you want to save yourself the time and heebijeebies that’s about it.
Ooh! And they are attracted to the colors white and sky blue, esp if it’s near the ground. They will eat most plants, plus onions and lemons and weeds. They will bite you. They are hungry jerks.

I use the same neem oil as in the video, I mix a quarter teaspoon with 7 tsp of super moist and some organic dish soap. Since I have already sprayed that on my plants, is it okay to use the Captain Jack's dead bug on top of it? Will it burn my plants? The reason I ask is because I've come to understand that if you mix neem oil and sulfur products it will burn the plant. I don't know if there is sulfur in Captain Jack's dead bug.
Wondering what would work best for a plant that is 5 weeks into flower, I don't want to spray the buds with neem because of smell/taste. I'm going to put some DE in the top soil but would like an insecticide to get rid of the thrips

How often would you recommend to use Captain Jack's spray on houseplants? I mean how many applications in a row with how many days apart? The chart that comes with a bottle is confusing to me.
I'm battling a thrips infestation now. And check every leaf of affected plants every 3 days after spraying, wiping/squishing critters I see with my fingers, but a few of my pothos still have them after at least 2 applications spaced 5 days apart

I've sprayed twice, one more time and then I cry. I've killed by hand too, my entire tent now has dead all over and then they came out of the tent for my clones, I sprayed and hand picked them, dead flies all around today so some are dying, not all. I'll give it 2 more weeks and then toss 3 5 ft. flowering plants and start over as it's very depressing. I did it by bringing in clones from outdoor p[ants not knowing they were infected. Hard lesson learned. Expensive lesson.
I’m so depressed I’m having a thrip problem. I’m spraying spraying spraying and even though I’ve only seen 2 crawlers after 4 days I know the problems not over. It’s so exhausting and I really don’t want to throw these plants out. This is a nightmare.

You don't need to it's fine. It is 99.9% water and .1% soil bacteria.

How do you kill ants in your soil
Is there anything other than this products? I can't get any of these. Maybe dish soap with hydrogenproxide or something?
Canadian regulations have outlawed all pesticides, cant even get Pure Crop now which is just vegetable oil and water basically. Even organic pesticides banned.

For some reason I can't get any of these products in Canada. But luckily I found out that regular ants spray will kill them and not harm my plants. So I've been doing that every 2 weeks or so. And got the ant powder for the soil, so far no trips. Plants are happy new growth is popping🤞🏿
I was able to get Neem in Canada by ordering from Amazon US and pay the shipping. The same brand from dyna gro.
So, thrips aren't normally crawling all throughout the soil like similar looking white bugs I'm seeing in my soil?

See my comment above, but I have had good results spraying Neem/Soap on all of the plant three times in 9 days. It takes a while to work but it doesn't seem to affect the plants badly at all, they all look great still. I have bought a Spinosad product to use later on in flower (after week 5) if they come back. Best of luck.

I use sand on the soil 1/4 " (they can' get through the sand) Then I mist the leaves with 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide (3%)to 1gal of water. The leaves love it and the soil/roots love a heavier spray to top of soil but not hard enough to disturb the sand, if you water from the top. Use water from bottom roots still love it.

@@MrCrystalHarp Yes, test on leaves first. It will burn the leaves and roots. Sometimes I use 1/2 cup to 1 gal of (3% hydrogen peroxide).

Trust me, some eBay sellers sell decanted versions, if your still struggling to find some.
Also get blue sticky traps they work great but must be blue and I recommend putt them at the stems of your plants just above the soil. 👊🇬🇧

But if you use enough mites and care about keeping humidity up so they don't die within a couple days you can very much end an infestation for good
I had black stuff on the back of my leaves n thought they were molding cuz I kept the plant in a glass jar and wouldnt yua freaking KNOW IT a fucking thrip the next day. tossed it in trash, but I am watching my other plants
